Welcome to the “Inside”!

Posted by Joel Marion

You are now officially part of the best body-changing website on the internet!

Below are a few suggestions to help you get started with the blog and ensure you get the most of out of the Body Transformation Insider experience:

1.  Go ahead and get yourself a Gravatar at Gravatar.com.  Gravatars or “globally recognized avatars” are the little pictures that you see next to comments posted on the site.  They give your comments personality (and you should be commenting!) and help to identify you around the site.  For your Gravatar, you can choose a headshot, the logo of your favorite sports team, or just about anything else you’d like (just keep it G-rated, please :-)).

One cool thing about Gravatars is that they are recognized on literally thousands of blogs and websites across the web, so once you have one, you’re set!

2.  If you haven’t already done so, download my FREE 17-page Fat Loss Secrets Exposed special report at the top of the page.  In this report, I give you six of the best fat loss strategies that have been responsible for literally shedding thousands of pounds from my clients trouble spots.  You definitely don’t want to miss this information as having it will put you ahead of 99.9% of other people trying to drop unwanted body fat-guaranteed.

3.  I’m all about interacting with and getting to know my readers.  One of the best ways to do this is through various social networks like Facebook and Twitter.  On Twitter, you can keep up to date with everything I’m doing and working on, interact with me, and get even more fat-loss tips and strategies.  And on Facebook, well, you all know how Facebook works!

Click here to follow me on Twitter.

And here to friend me on Facebook.

4.  If you’d like to know more about me, read this page.

5.  Get involved!  I want you to comment and become part of what we’re doing at BodyTransformationInsider.com!  Go through the posts, introduce yourself, and share your thoughts, questions, and input.  The more you interact, the more this site will benefit you and the more likely you will be to succeed at achieving your goals.

6.  Lastly, I’d love it if you’d do me a favor.  Under each post, we have a “social sharing” widget that allows you to share the content of the site with others via Facebook, Twitter, email, and a ton of other social bookmarking sites like Stubleupon and Technorati just to name a few.

If you enjoy a post, you can really help my efforts (Body Transformation Insider is a one-man operation) by using this widget to easily share this site with your friends.  Post it to your Facebook newsfeed, send a tweet to your followers on Twitter, or simply use the “email” function to send the post to your contacts.

My goal is to reach more than 1,000,000 people for fitness this year, and with your help, I know we can blow right past that number.

Simply put, the more people we get to the site, the more people we can help, and together, we’re sure to be unstoppable!

Alright, so this is what I’d like you to do right now:

1.  Post a comment below and let me know what you think about the site!  Also, would love it if you would take a minute to introduce yourself.

2.  Share, share, share!  Use the below widget to share this site with your email contacts, Facebook friends, Twitter followers, or any other social site you belong to!  With our sharing tool, it literally takes just a click of a button.  Thanks in advance for taking just a few seconds to share what we’re doing with your friends!

Talk to you soon!

Joel

Contest for 1000 calorie challenge ??? My life right now, I work nights and I don’t get enough quality sleep. As a consequence my hormone levels are out of balance. I have done this for just over a year and unfortunately it has been detrimental to my health and self esteem. I find myself shying away from social events and invitations because I have vowed not to buy any larger sizes in clothes. But I haven’t been able to get any consistent results. My fiancée has offered and supported my decisions and all I need is a system and program to get me on track and keep me there. Sleep deprivation and irregular eating cycles have raised my cholesterol, blood pressure and obviously my weight. I have recently cut my hours as much as possible and as of December 1st I have several daytime job offers. I need to overhaul my health and fitness programs immediately. These job offers are dependent on my physical strength and resistance. At this time in my life hard and fast results for equal amounts of effort is the challenge I need. I know my potential I have every bit of confidence that this program is exactly what I’m looking for.

Joel – Love your program….I work out, I eat organic and healthy. Want to lose 10-20 lbs. I’m rather muscular. Although, I did do the cheat day and gained 2 of the 4 1/2 lbs. I lost…..trying not to feel bummed cuz you said we had to wait til the next cheat day, but a little frustrated. You’re positive that this will magically start to drop?? Cuz I’m being totally faithful to this.

Hi all,
My name is Ilaria and I’m a 37 old woman with some body fat to loose.
I love stitching :), sewing :) and eating chocolate :(.
I am from 2 countries with a huge food culture, I am italian but I live in France with my boyfriend, so when I read or hear about draconian diets, I just go mad and refuse to be frustrated from tons of salad and glasses of water. I hope I’ll learn how to lose body fat and enjoy good european meals.
Sorry for the mistakes, as I you’d probably noticed, american english is not my mother language, that’s a great occasion to improve ;)

Hello from Boston, MA! In keeping with the request to share some information about ourselves, I’m currently 54 and have been very active in the fitness industry for about the last 12 years or so after a long hiatus. I had been training for bodybuilding competitions in my late 20s and had a poor trainer and ended up in the hospital, anexoric, sick and on the verge of renal failure. So, in my early 40s, I got back into working out more smartly and for me, not for any contest or exhibition, although I do believe those are great goals with the right coaching and training.

I currently teach spinning after being an avid runner for 10 years (I can no longer run because of foot issues and sciatica) and also weight lift (my passion! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT) and teach body conditioning and bootcamp style circuit training classes. I think I own about every fitness DVD there is and get up at 3 AM every day to do Tae Bo or a P90X DVD.

My major problem, and the reason I ended up on here after much online searching) is that I’m terrible at putting together an appropriate diet. I tend to not eat rather than eat but instead of being thin, I’ve been putting on weight despite all the activity I do. I know, I know, I should be eating regularly but determine what to eat and when to eat it during my screwy schedule is the problem. I’m HOPING that there is information here that will help; getting up at 3 AM, working part time as a fitness instructor and full time in the financial services industry and working a third job part time job (desk job) leaves me little time for setting up anything with regularity and therein lies my problem.

I have been getting your emails and appreciate all the information that comes our way, totally free for the most part. Thank YOU for your dedication and interest in having people be as healthy and fit as they can be.

Wishing you well during the Holiday season and all the best in the New Year.

Margi

Ask Joel:

I love your site and down to earth teaching.
I need to lose 80 lbs.
What is the formula to calculate my daily calories for maintenance?
I want to subtract 500 calories and start doing intervals.

Ask Joel:
I need to change the 5 day cycle to a 7 day cycle so that I can always do my “Fast Day” on the weekend. I have considered doing 2 Shake Days followed by 2 Moderate Carb Days, or repeating the Shake Day-Moderate Carb Day succession twice in a row before Protein-Only Depletion Day. Will the program still work? What is the best configuration for a 7-day cycle?

I started the program on Saturday, but I have a basic question.

I started a diet about 8 weeks ago and have already lost 20 lbs but need to lose the last stubborn 5-10 lbs and have gotten stuck.

Since I have already been reducing calories for about 2 months now and am so close to my target weight, do I still need to do the Priming Phase for 3 weeks or can I go straight to the Core Phase?

Hi Joel,
I’m using your CYWT program. I lost 3.5 pounds the first week and didn’t go hungry. :) I have a question about carrots. I don’t see them listed on any of the 3
quick reference lists. I’m moving into low glycemic eating and would like to include carrots with a meal or snack. Carrots score between 44-49 on the glycemic index. Is it ok to to start including them once a day?
Thanks!

Hey Joel, thanks for the great site. I’m looking forward to getting back into shape – fast:) I’m 63 years old, 5’7″ and I weigh 150 lbs. Last year I broke every limb, and spent a disasterous 4 months on the couch! It took me the entire year to regain their use and strength. Prior to my ‘fall’ I was active in tennis, swimming, martial arts, roller skating, fencing, and dance… but now I’m a limp couch potato. At this age you tend to ‘wilt’ rather quickly:) My favorite workout videos are the P90X ones… I used to outperform most of my daughter’s friends, but now I can only manage ‘wall push-ups’… but that’s going to change, NOW!

Hi Joel,
Please help!!!! I am soon to become 57 and have dieted 35 of those years. Up and down, exercise, every book, article and plan I have tried. I am now at a standstill. Recently I did lose 50 lbs, but it took me a year and alot of hard work and deprivation. I would like to lose another 25 lbs, but my previous plan is not working anymore, and I find my clothes are getting tighter AGAIN!!! I just want to be healthy and feel proud of myself. Can I even dare to dream that finally your plan will work???? I hope so much!!!!

Hi…I want to win this because I have been struggling with weight for years, and the overwhelming information thats out there. Theres so much that youre supposed to do or NOT do that nothing is working! Ive even been a personal trainer and am currently taking Sports Medicine and Fitnesss in school and STILL cant seem to beat this thing. Something has to give. I know there isnt a magic answer, but when you think youre doing it all the right way, it gets so frustrating and it makes you just want to give up. Im 42, and Ive dealt with many illnesses and back surgeries but I havent given up yet. I dont know if weight is harder to lose due to hormones or not, becasue I do workout 5-6 times a week. Im so afraid to “CHEAT” on my diet for fear Im giving up or ruining all Ive done. This program sounds wayyyy to good to be true and Im dying to try it. My daugther just got engaged, my youngest is graduating, school loans are $40k, and we’ve just been thru bankruptcy, so I cant really afford to buy this, but Im desperate to give it a try!

EXTREME FAT LOSS 2 CONTEST: I NEED this information because I really want to lose weight and get in shape. I have had 4 back surgeries (scoliosis) and over the years I have gained a lot of weight. The weight is a real problem because the work of carrying it makes the pain in my back much worse.
I am 59 years old and weigh 200 pounds. Help! I have recently joined Curves and find that it is helping to get me up off of the chair, but I am at a complete loss as to how to lose weight. I have tried diets and just find myself frustrated and hungry. I have 6 beautiful grandchildren and would love to do things with them. Right now I drive them to playgrounds and sit in the car while they play… It hurts to walk any distance. I am committed to losing weight and would love to learn how.
