Welcome to the “Inside”!

Posted by Joel Marion

You are now officially part of the best body-changing website on the internet!

Below are a few suggestions to help you get started with the blog and ensure you get the most of out of the Body Transformation Insider experience:

1.  Go ahead and get yourself a Gravatar at Gravatar.com.  Gravatars or “globally recognized avatars” are the little pictures that you see next to comments posted on the site.  They give your comments personality (and you should be commenting!) and help to identify you around the site.  For your Gravatar, you can choose a headshot, the logo of your favorite sports team, or just about anything else you’d like (just keep it G-rated, please :-)).

One cool thing about Gravatars is that they are recognized on literally thousands of blogs and websites across the web, so once you have one, you’re set!

2.  If you haven’t already done so, download my FREE 17-page Fat Loss Secrets Exposed special report at the top of the page.  In this report, I give you six of the best fat loss strategies that have been responsible for literally shedding thousands of pounds from my clients trouble spots.  You definitely don’t want to miss this information as having it will put you ahead of 99.9% of other people trying to drop unwanted body fat-guaranteed.

3.  I’m all about interacting with and getting to know my readers.  One of the best ways to do this is through various social networks like Facebook and Twitter.  On Twitter, you can keep up to date with everything I’m doing and working on, interact with me, and get even more fat-loss tips and strategies.  And on Facebook, well, you all know how Facebook works!

Click here to follow me on Twitter.

And here to friend me on Facebook.

4.  If you’d like to know more about me, read this page.

5.  Get involved!  I want you to comment and become part of what we’re doing at BodyTransformationInsider.com!  Go through the posts, introduce yourself, and share your thoughts, questions, and input.  The more you interact, the more this site will benefit you and the more likely you will be to succeed at achieving your goals.

6.  Lastly, I’d love it if you’d do me a favor.  Under each post, we have a “social sharing” widget that allows you to share the content of the site with others via Facebook, Twitter, email, and a ton of other social bookmarking sites like Stubleupon and Technorati just to name a few.

If you enjoy a post, you can really help my efforts (Body Transformation Insider is a one-man operation) by using this widget to easily share this site with your friends.  Post it to your Facebook newsfeed, send a tweet to your followers on Twitter, or simply use the “email” function to send the post to your contacts.

My goal is to reach more than 1,000,000 people for fitness this year, and with your help, I know we can blow right past that number.

Simply put, the more people we get to the site, the more people we can help, and together, we’re sure to be unstoppable!

Alright, so this is what I’d like you to do right now:

1.  Post a comment below and let me know what you think about the site!  Also, would love it if you would take a minute to introduce yourself.

2.  Share, share, share!  Use the below widget to share this site with your email contacts, Facebook friends, Twitter followers, or any other social site you belong to!  With our sharing tool, it literally takes just a click of a button.  Thanks in advance for taking just a few seconds to share what we’re doing with your friends!

Talk to you soon!

Hey All,
I used to be in the best of shape, played all sports through school. (many years ago) Stayed in shape pretty good since. But now I had two failed back surgeries four years ago and been on two different pain meds ever since. Lost all muscle from head to toes. Doctors say to be fixed I need four artificial disk put in my back. They don’t even do that in U.S. yet. I’m hoping to overcome everything and grit my teeth to try to get a life back. May be a chance if I follow work-outs here.

Can anyone tell me if loading up on protein a week before weight training will help. I know normally you need @ 70 grams/day. How much is too much and how do you calculate it? Looking forward to your replys. Thanks, as always!!

Reply  |  Quote

To reply to your question, Joe, I have read that you need 1.14 grams of protein per pound of LEAN body mass (not your entire weight). So you will need to know what you’re LBM is. @Joe -

Hi Joel!

So glad you made this site.. I am just like you. I’ve been working out, “dieting” for years and never seen any results. I feel confident that with your info I can finally get where i want! Thanks!!

Hi Joel. I am a fan of anything that you do! Your book Cheat to Lose has changed my life and I can’t wait for the next one. Keep them coming! :)

Thanks Joel for doing all of this. I’m from Indy originally and moving soon back to DC. I am following you and Vince and am seeing progress as a lean hard gainer to put on muscle. I have the mind of a twenty something and body of a thirty something, still have my high school 32″ waist, am still faster on the basketball court than most high schoolers, yet, I’m almost 51. I have wondered if that makes a difference to put on muscle, but so far following you and Vince seems to be working.

I do have a question about the Pro Grade Value pack that includes the Workout Recovery drink (which really is delicious), the EFA ICON and the VGF 25+ for Men. One thing I don’t understand is that the recovery drink only lasts about two weeks if used as directed in stead of the month it is supposed to last. The other two are enough for a month. I’m on the monthly plan where they send it automatically but it’s not enough of the Recovery drink.

I also use the GNC Wheybolic Extreme 60 as a first thing in the morning drink, and as my pre and post workout when my Pro Grade Recovery runs out, then I use GNC PM Protein at night. I have had the most difficulty since I started all of this figuring out all these supplement things. Does it sound as if I’m on the right track to you? Any suggestions I should consider? Thank you once again for doing this.

Hi, I’m Patti and from Ontario Canada.

I decided to chang my lifestyle at the age of 40 and weighing a wooping 340lbs and so far I have lost 180 lbs. No surgery, no diet clinics, no magic pills (LOL)…..just eating healthy and with the help of a personal trainer for the first few months just to get me going in the right direction.

I’m so happy to have found this website and all the great info I’ve read so far.

I’m not done yet…..life is way too fun now to quit :)

Thanks for the invite here. I have been following advice from Tom Benson and his mates. I lost 60 pounds in less than 12 months, got blase and put on 20 pounds last year instead of losing the 20 pounds to get to my goal. I did body building (for fun only) from the age of 30 to 55. I was put on statins and my muscles were destroyed so i could hardly walk even and put on LOADS of weight and almost died. I came off statins, started eating healthily and exercising a little at a time. I went back to circuit weight training and love it. My genetically high cholesterol is still on the high side but doctors have accepted the levels as I am healthier and fitter now at 61 and female.
I used to be very athletic and a member of Veteran At and femaleetes until too sick, competing in racewalking, 100 and 200 metre sprints and throwing discus, hammer and shot. I went to the gym lifting weights (200 lb squats and 100 pound bench) 6 days a week doing splits.
I am getting back on track but do smaller weights for higher reps now, mostly at home with my equipment.

Hi Joel.
It was interesting reading you Fat loss secerets, especially the don’t eat carbs and fat together bit. It seemed to make alot of sense. The only problem beng deciding which caterory do certain foods fit into, such as cheese is it fat or protein, and avocado fat or carbs also nuts what are these considered to be I know they contain fat but what else and where are they placed in the FAT PROTEIN & CARB seperation.

Hi Joel

I’m 65 years old have been into body building for approximately 5 years. July I’m entering into our local masters body building contest. I do have a little problem with tummy and breast fat which after years of training and doing other diets and sticking to them 100% I still cannot get rid of these fatty areas. Hopefully your diet will do this for me. Web site looks awesome.
Thanks Heaps
Sonny.

I think that you have me hooked on your philosophy, and your program. Considering signing up for Gold membership but have a few questions that weren’t covered, and you covered much more than I expected!

Recently my weight jumped because of medical issues. I am trying to stay focused and exercise regularly. I think your program will help me in my quest to lose weight and feel better.

Reply  |  Quote

I have been exercising for about 17 years now. I really should look as lean as possible but I don’t. I guess I have never eaten and exercised the optimum way at the same time. I have always managed to maintain my weight steady at 140. Then I had a baby 3 years ago and I have tried everything to get the fat off. I’ve tried Eating programs, yoga, pilates, and now most recently weight training with interval cardio (Which I am not new to). I feel like I have to monitor every little thing I eat so as not to gain the little I have lost. I’m tired of trying to watch everything I eat. It would be nice to eat a little more relaxed and lose fat at the same time. I’ve attended several events in the last 3 years at this larger size. It would be nice to finally fit into my previous sized clothes or smaller. I almost feel like its never going to happen. Boo Hoo Hoo..:) Ok I’ll stop whining now. Its time for this fat to come off or else I’m considering some form of lipo!! I’d rather do it naturally. Thanks for listening to why I think I should receive your program.

Betsy

Dear Joel-

I am hoping to win one of the free copies of your program. I am the mother of 6 children and the mid-30 metabolism slow down just hit. Believe it or not, with all 6 pregnancies I went back to my pre-pregnancy weight. But something has drastically changed now that I’m in my mid 30′s. I’m committed to exercising and eating healthy, but no matter what I do, the weight just keeps creeping on. Your theories ring true to me….from my own personal experienes and struggles. I have been feeling discouraged lately. I would love the opportunity to try your program.

Sincerely,
Allie

Hi Joel,
Can’t wait to get started reading more of your info. I am 56 years old and my husband and I have been trying to transform our bodies for life. We started with Body for Life in the year 2000. We felt better and lost 20+ pounds each. But in the past 2 years something changed and I’ve seemed to put back on weight. So I’m feeling pretty discouraged right now. I won’t give up. I have kept up the weights and eating right along with still having a day off. So I’m hoping your information will help me learn what I must still be doing wrong. I would love to win your free copies of your program. I want to fit back into my clothes again!
Thank you,
Brenda

Hello again,
I have read more on your site and am not sure how I will be able to fit the food and exercise into my life at the moment… my son 11 year old was recently diagnosed with Leukaemia and we are in an out of hospital with him for treatment and other unscheduled admissions and many days at outpatients clinic.
Do you have any suggestions or encouragement for me?
I’d like to lose 10 kg of fat and build about 5 or more kg of muscle.
I have been doing very little exercise except walking since my son’s hospitalisation: mid January 09.
I did a 1/2 hour walk today with 10 jogging intervals of 30 seconds each.
I hadn’t run for a long time and this was surprisingly OK.
Please help me lose weight and get fit for my Eldest daughter’s wedding 19th July 09.
Thanks again… i am very nervous about commiting to anything since my son’s illness.
please help

Hey Joel, as alot are going through the same issues I too have a the belly situation. However, mine may be a little different. I had back surgery about 3 years ago. The Docs went through my stomach first for 3 hrs. Turned me over and finished ther rest of the 8 hrs through my back. Later on as they and I didn’t realize I developed an incisional hernia above my belt line straight up to around 4 to 5 inches. After getting authorization from Docs to have them repair this after a year waiting, I lost an almost exact 5×5 inch square of stomach muscle tissue that just deteriated. So on my left side is basically softer than my right stomach side. And also they fact that any and I mean nearly anything I eat in very small portions even just drinking a glass of water, my stomach kind of pouches out on that left side. Yes I could stand to loose 15 to 18lbs. But this is really miserable. I need some drastic help. I’m sooo very tired of this. I use to run stadiums, lift weights, never had a weight/fat problem until after this surgery. I wished the Docs would of caught this sooner. Please give me some advice etc….

Joel,

I ordered your program and I am all ready to start, but I have one problem. I prefer to eat all natural foods and don’t really want to add the protein shake to my diet. I have had digestive problems with such foods before. What could I eat/drink instead of the protein shake at 9?

Hi Joel,

Bet you’re busy now days :-)

I am a 52 year old (the 14th) woman living in Sweden (nothern europe).

I purchased your Deluxe program and read the manual yeasterday. And allready, even though I haven’t started the program yet, I feel like this is going to work.

I’m so happy I got the tip from one your peers, Isabel de Los Rios. I’ve been dieting, on and off, soon for 40 years and the last couple of years I’ve been on the LCHF. It worked to begin with, but then I got ill and lost focus for a while and after that it has been hard to get back on track. It’s as you say, my body’s fighting me. The first 2-3 weeks I lose weight but then it’s like: Oh no, here we go again, better hit the brakes.

That’s what happend 2 weeks (and -6 kg) ago. And I was wondering why, cause I’ve been a good girl and followed the diet as I should.
Well now I know why! :-)

Tomorrow (monday) I’ll start the program with a cheat day. Mondays are my days off, so it’s perfect.

I hope, I will get some help and support from this site. Because I’m sure bad days will accur. I have a long way to go, since I have about 60-70 kg to lose. But I’m sure that when I get in to the routin of it, it’ll be easier, week by week.

This is a nice site. But I miss a couple of things:

- A time stamp would be nice on the comments.
- I cant find back to the FAQ.
- I’d like a category where we can post questions about the program.

I have a question about fat portions, where shall I post it?

I’ll end this posting with a biig THANK YOU! for all your hard work so far and I hope you’ll benefit of it too even though you’ve been so generous in the start.

/ Terhi

Hi! Just bought your Cheat book. Makes sense to me, so I am starting today.

Joel,

Great site, and nice topic. Like several others who submitted their opinions, I tend to get ill during morning cardio workouts. If I do eat, it has to be at least 2 hours before hitting the gym. If I have anything in my system too soon, it wants to come up about 10 minutes into my workout. If I’m doing circuit training with weights, I tend to do all right with a piece of fruit an hour before. Or you’ll find me running to the bathroom.

I usually perform high intensity cardio on an empty stomach. I feel like I get more of a focused workout. My cardio session becomes more about meditation, and self-awareness. Rather than trying to keep from passing gas or blowing chunks. This has been a habit for me for quite sometime. Even before gymnastics practice, or meets. I couldn’t stomach too much, with all the intensity that was to come. My energy level usually suffers when I don’t get a good nights rest.
