An Extremely Content-Rich Interview with my friend Vince DelMonte, and a special guest appearance from his girlfriend, Flavia!

Vince and Flavia at their recent Photo Shoot in the Dominican

Vince and Flavia at their recent photo shoot in the Domincan.

Alright, let’s get right down into it, Vinny.  A lot of people work out, few people see real changes from their efforts.  Why do you think so many people fail to see results from the time they spend in the gym?

People are focusing on time spent instead of time invested, and that’s an extremely important distinction. For example, last night I saw this dude in the gym attempting a Bent Over Row.  He picks up the barbell, leans forward about 2 inches, does about ten reps with maybe a few inches of movement, racks the bar, stands up tall and gets some water. No sweat. No noise. No change of facial expression.  Nothing.  I’m thinking to myself, “Go home, man!  Where’s the intensity?  Take up knitting or basket weaving!”

Two problems:

1. Most trainees do not know what intensity looks like. They are a product of their environment and the lack of energy and intensity rubs into their own workouts, whether they are aware of it or not.  After you become a fly on the wall and watch my DVD’s you’ll see and hear what real intensity looks like.  We don’t use professional athletes or scripted models in my DVD’s.  Instead I use real weights, real intensity, real sweat and real effort.

2. Most trainees have horrible technique.  Again, time spent instead of time invested.  I could cut your workout from 60 minutes to 15 minutes just by adjusting your foot position, hand grip, elbow position, hips etc.  Same weights, better technique and you’ll feel like it’s your first workout ever and say, “What the heck have I been doing all these years?”  Another cool thing about the workouts I filmed is that I also take the time to show you proper lifting technique instead of paying $100 an hour for a trainer.

Agreed 100%, although I do like to knit from time to time.  Let’s talk crucial elements.  If someone is looking to shed fat extremely fast, what are 2-3 elements that they need to include in their training?

1. Lactic acid. Lactic acid production from high intensity training leads to an increase in Growth Hormone which burns fat faster from your body. You need to actually feel the “burn” (that’s lactic acid build up in muscle tissue) and you shouldn’t just be casually going through a workout while breathing normally.  I see WAY too many people doing this in the gym, and it’s the reason why people don’t see results.  Workouts need to be CHALLENGING.

2. Sweat. You need to leave a trail of sweat in the gym and be at least 1-2 pounds lighter after every workout.  My 4-day and 5-day six pack programs are designed to heat up your body like a furnace and dig fat from the most stubborn spots for energy.

3. Stop babying yourself. Don’t leave anything on the gym floor when you train.  Treat each rep like it’s your last and each set like you don’t have another.  In my six pack programs I even encourage people to stop counting reps and focus on quality instead of quantity.

Right on.  Alright next, question, and this is one that I get a lot from readers, but I’m sure you’ll have a great answer. Do you feel that someone can build an optimal physique without resistance training (i.e. just with diet and cardio alone)?

No.  Next question.

Well that was easy enough, lol.
Let’s switch it up and talk about your girlfriend, Flavia.  I know Flavia has been using a lot of your workouts as well, and I’d venture to say that she looks EXACTLY like most women want to look — lean, sexy, and tone.  What would you say to women who are hesitant to train with weights, or particularly, the training routines included in your DVD series?

My take:
Stop taking advice from people who don’t look like you want to look!  Would you take money advice from your friend is living pay check to check?  So why take female fitness advice from a girl who doesn’t look like you.  But rather than take it from me, Flavia is actually sitting right beside me now, so here it is, straight from the horse’s mouth:

Flavia: For me having shapely arms is a powerful ego boost and believe me they get noticed.  I have always wanted people to know I workout, instead of just assuming I’m just naturally thin.  The time I’ve put in doing Vince’s workouts (which have been a heck of a lot of fun), have given me the lean, sexy look I’ve always wanted, but didn’t have until just recently.

There are also quite a few other female-friendly benefits of weight training, such as an increase in metabolism.  More muscles burn more calories, helping to speed along weight loss and achieve you fat loss goals faster.  Another huge problem area for women are their triceps…well without weight training, you will still have the loose flap waving back at people. It is important to know proper techniques for lifting weight but it is well worth learning….the results you achieve by doing things the RIGHT way will make you want to learn more and lift more.  And don’t be worried that you will look like a man…I certainly don’t think I do!

Awesome stuff.  I know hearing directly from another female (who looks like you look), really helps a lot of people, so thanks for popping in!  On that note, while I have the two of you here, since you both did my Extreme Fat Loss Diet (which I’m GIVING away to anyone who picks up Vince’s DVDs this week through http://VincesDVDs-JoelsBigTimeBonus.com), let’s discuss the program and results you guys experienced.  Can both of you sum up your experience prepping for your recent photo shoot with the Extreme Fat Loss Diet?

Vince: For me, it was very stimulating and rewarding and easy. Dieting has NEVER been easy for me in the past.  I saw insane changes in my body over the last 3 weeks, going from a very lean 206 to a WAY leaner 197 and looked bigger than ever (I even put on a few pounds of muscle while getting that lean, which is unheard of).  And the best part is that you get to Cheat every 5th day!  How easy is that?

I also loved the diet because I thrive on being told, “Fast this day…”, “Cheat this day…”, “Protein depletion this day…” etc.  Each day had one focus and a new challenge.  It was better than trying to “low carb it” all the time.  There was a specific goal and the results came so fast you looked forward to the next cycle.

Flavia: The program was killer.  Seeing new results every day was an amazing feeling.  It was truly a mental power building program. After each week I felt empowered by sticking strictly to the plan…I felt I could conquer the world. Everyday I looked at the mirror and saw changes….abs, glutes, thighs.  My arms become tighter, my face slimmed down and people were FINALLY commenting.  And I did it all while working crazy nursing shifts!

The food options were ideal and the cheat days…my favorite :).  I have always ate healthy and to be able to eat those foods that I deprived myself of, and lose fat faster, was pretty awesome.  So many people were commenting about being able to eat those foods and still see results.  It now makes perfect sense and I could literally “feel” my metobolism sky rocket the day after my cheat…LOVE IT.

The program is awesome, Joel…seriously.  Thanks so much for helping us get photo ready!

Well, you’re very welcome and it was my pleasure!  As a reminder, if you pick up Vince’s DVD package through this link ==> http://VincesDVDs-JoelsBigtimeBonus.com, you’ll get the beta version of the Extreme Fat
Loss Diet for free (six months before it goes on sale somewhere between $97 and $197 next year).

Alright Vinny, so you just turned 30, and to celebrate you’ve re-released your DVD series (9 DVDs in total) with ALL of your workouts in hard copy — FINALLY, after selling out the first 500 copies back in April in less than 4 days.  So, you have 500 more, is that correct?

Yes, I’ve been getting a lot of people emailing me the past few months asking when they’ll be able to get the hard copies again, so I figure I’d do a limited run for my Birthday along with a substantial sale.  I’ve never discounted my stuff before, but it’s my 30th and I figure I get to call the shots :)  So, I’m doing something I probably won’t do again until my 40th!

The DVD’s sold for $247 last April, and this time you get a $50 discount on the same 9 DVD’s but that’s NOT my birthday present to you.  You also get $331 of my top three digital programs (go to each individual website and you’ll see that’s what they add up to if you ordered individually today or after this Friday) plus over $400 of limited time bonuses.  So basically you get $900 of my best stuff for less than 200 bucks!  I figure it would make a nice Christmas gift to yourself or to your loved one as well.

Oh yeah, and you’ll also get Joel’s Extreme Fat Loss Diet, the same program that Flavia and I used (along with my workouts) to get into tip top shape for our photo shoot when you order through Joel’s special page at http://VincesDVDs-JoelsBigTimeBonus.com.  It was honestly the fastest we ever lost fat in our lives, and to think that we did it while eating whatever we wanted every 5th day is pretty nuts.

It’s a pretty ridiculous deal.  The digital version of your top fat loss program, Your Six Pack Quest, sells for over $100 alone at that website, and that’s like one tenth of the total package your offering here.  You’re also offering a bunch of other bonuses-what do you feel is the coolest element or bonus included in the Birthday Bash package in your opinion?

Honestly, it’s NOT the three years worth of workouts!  It’s the Day-In-The-Life DVD.  There are over 2 hours of footage that focuses on my faith, family, friends, finances, fitness, fun and my girlfriend Flavia!  I’ll tell you how I bought my first house before the age of 24, built a 7 figure business before the age of 30, show you the books I read, you’ll meet my 8 “kids”, we take a trip to my therapist’s office and much more.  And Flavia steals the show…we have a ton of killer footage from our trip to Punta Cana and do a lot of laughing and rambling about life, bar nights, photo prep, singing in the car and lots more.

I’ve never seen a fitness professional ever pull back the curtain like I did.  Why did I do this?  I want to show you that the success they experience in the gym can be carried over to all areas of your life and how it has for me.  I’m really excited to hear your feedback on this piece I included.

Believe me, we’ve hung out many times and I have no doubts people are in for quite a show :)  Alright, last question, what is the biggest success tip you could give to someone looking to radically change their body in a short period of time?

You have to have a bigger reason to succeed than just to help yourself.  I view my body as an opportunity to SERVE and INSPIRE others.  As an example, my girlfriend benefits more from my body than I do and vice versa.  Sure I get compliments and stares and I feel like a stud when I take my shirt off but lets think about all the people who see my pictures or see me walking around on the streets. I m a walking symbol of, “It’s possible.”

Then there’s my brothers and little cousins and close friends who see me every day?  Think about how much they benefit from being inspired by me investing in myself.  By being a positive example and role model I’m able to influence my circle of friends and have a greater impact on the world.  How is that for motivation?  I hope that does not sound too heavy or deep, but when you experience it first hand, it’s as real as it gets.

Aside from the money you’ll save this week and the 3 years worth of education, give yourself the BEST body for your loved ones, not for just yourself.

Thanks for an amazing content-rich interview, Vinny!  You always over-deliver.  And thank’s to Flavia for a special guest appearance!  I can’t wait to see the two of you again in January at my event here in Tampa.

Pick up Vince’s DVDs, my BIG-time bonus, ALL the other bonuses, and everything else he is offering at the Birthday discount here:

I actually just called Vince and asked him to pop by the blog later today, so if you have any questions, both he and I will be here to answer them for ya-just post ’em below in the comments section!

I’m even going to try to get Flavia to come over, too, so if you have questions for her, post ’em!

Committed to your success,

Joel

Yes, there is a MAJOR difference. The EFLD is a much more advanced, extreme, rapid fat loss program that incorporates cheating along with fasting along with planned depletion, timed exercise, etc. It produces results extremely fast, but is not meant to be done for extended periods of time. For “normal” circumstances, CYWT is the way to go. To quote an earlier email of mine from this week:

————-

Reason #3. I can not even tell you the number of emails I’ve received
from people looking for weight training workouts to do along side
the Cheat Your Way Thin program. THESE are the workouts to
combine with my program to easily double your results.

And if you’re a Cheat Your Way Thin customer, by all means,
continue with the CYWT plan (along with these workouts) and
shelve the Extreme Fat Loss Diet for later use. The Holiday
Calendar is without a doubt the schedule you want to be following
during the holidays, but the Extreme Fat Loss Diet will
absolutely come in handy at a later date when you want to lose
fat FAST and you’ll be thankful you didn’t pay a penny for it
when we release it next year.

But, by getting your hands on these workouts now, you’ll set
yourself up to accelerate your results during the holidays (and
for a long, long time to come, as there are close to 2 years
worth of workouts on these DVDs).

Hi Joel,

I missed the webcast last night because of work. I did have a question for you. I recently purchased your CWYT program and will start this weekend. I was wondering about a fasting day. I have always fasted one to two days a week and was wondering if I could incorporate this into the plan. I thought maybe just one day and think it should be the day after my cheat day. Would this work? Thank you.

Hi, I’m 54 today and struggling terribly to lose weight. It doesn’t matter what I do, nothing seems to work! It’s so frustrating and I sometimes wonder why I even bother to try, but I’ll never give up!

Yes, absolutely. Your best bet is to do this the day after a cheat day.

@Irene Wallace
Happy Birthday Irene!! Have a HUUUGE cheat day today – eat birthday cake and drink champagne to celebrate another year on this earth. Then start the CYWT program tomorrow – it DOES work!
I used to start a new diet every Monday morning and gave up every monday afternoon because the diets are SO restrictive and I came to the conclusion that I HATE cottage cheese and tuna. CYWT has given me the relative freedom to design my eating plan based on foods that I like – knowing that Chocolate is only 7 days away really helps too!! I have lost 10kg so far even though I do not follow the program 100% (sorry Joel – life’s too short to be that intense!) and am the lowest weight that I have been since having 2 kids. I am 49 and do find it harder to lose weight than before but this program I can follow for the rest of my life without feeling deprived.
Go for it Irene – it might take you longer than you wish but you will get there.

Hey Flavia! You look great! I am 5″2 as well. I did Vince’s 12 week challenge around a year ago now. I also noticed that my upper body toned up a lot but my thighs were still big compared to my small frame! I was going to continue but then I fell down the stairs and both my legs were in casts for like forever! Anyway, I am sort of back to square one and I want to do the whole process again to look hot for the summer and hopefully forever!

Did you follow Joel’s Cheat your way Thin program while doing Vince’s workouts? Didn’t you get hungry? I am a sucker for carbs…..I purchased Joel’s diet a while back but haven’t tried it yet.

Thanks for your reply!

Great Blog Joel, Flavia is so right when it comes to women and weight training. They need to look beyond the traditional training methods that women seem to follow, even in 2009! I’ve always been a firm believer in weight training, if you want a hot sexy body you gotta pick up those weights and I don’t mean the 2Ib ones.

Irene, there is a simple philosophy that says, “You get what you focus on.” I caution you to guard your thoughts unless you want more of… “struggling terribly…”, “doesn’t matter what you do…”, and “wonder why I even bother try…”

Instead think, “I won’t ever give up and refuse to believe I won’t have the body I want.” Those are the thoughts that you want in your head.

Also, in my free audio and newsletter at http://TransformationDomination.com Shawn and I talk about 4 different types of motivation, and how to find the type that will keep you going day after day after day because you LOVE what you’re doing (and aren’t just doing it because you feel that you “should” or “have to”).

Apart from that, if you’re looking for proven programs for the fastest fat loss, you’re not going to find any better than Cheat Your Way Thin and Vince’s workout programs.

I hope you choose to make some wise investments in yourself. This is YOUR life.

All the best,

Joel

If you are not eating to the point of discomfort on cheat days, you are fine. That said, enjoy some “snacky” foods, but don’t make it all junk. Eat like a normal person, don’t restrict your choices, but don’t concentrate on eating 100% snack or dessert foods. Go out to eat, order what you want, etc.

Veggies are all good…as for your other question, nuts are absolutely a good source of fat for low-carb days.

Hey Laura, I’ll let you Flavia answer this. She really enjoys the questions she’s getting – this is all new to her by the way – answering questions… LOL

Her facebook account gets over 20 emails a day from strangers asking her questions and she answers each one. I’ll let you give her specifics but she she followed Joel’s Extreme version of CYWT just the last 3 weeks before our photos, with me. She could not follow it as strict as I did (I nailed it about 97%) because she does night shifts but even by complying over 70% she got way better results.

Dragon Flag was made famous by Bruce Lee about a million year ago. There are some good examples on You Tube. Looks and feels impossible when you first start. It is hard to explain …Lie back on bench, grab the bench behind your head so you elbows are skyward. Then lift the whole of your body upwards from your sholders. When first starting it is best to throw your legs up high and drop down into it. Do not let you spine bend keep all your torso in line.
Anyway I am only 52 and a bit.

@Linda

I too am 52 yr old woman, am a personal trainer and have owned my own gym and know all of these training and fat loss principles that Joel, Vince and Flavia espouse and adhere to with great success. I admire and agree with all that you are doing and the information you are putting together. That said, I agree with Linda on one thing. You are all YOUNG! I believe you are completely missing an element that comes with aging that affects body mass, fat levels and ability to maintain fitness levels that I believe Linda is experiencing first hand. For even knowing all I know about it, I too, experienced an inability to lose excess body fat I was putting on despite my adherance to supremely healty eating and sufficient training and exercise. I am a black belt martial artist and was training for that in addition to weight and blitz circuit training classes every week — with NO results after 16 weeks. It was my own personal trainer that told me “Sue, something is horribly wrong with you. You are working like a 10 million dollar race horse, running circles around the women half your age and nothing is happening…”. I agreed and it made me reach deep into my nutritional/microbiological educational training to figure it out. Then, I finally figured it out ONLY with the help of coming across Suzanne Sommer’s work addressing the hormonal issues that especially affect women with aging. Even younger women face hormonal challenges when under excess, prolonged stress. Which applies to most of us women trying to balance raising children, career, and personal goals. I took her book to my OB/GYN and told him I wanted all of the hormone panel tests she recommended and wanted to get on Bio-Identical hormone replacement. All of my hormones tests came back super low to non-existent! I found that the stress of working out had only complicated and added to that condition by increasing cortisol levels. After getting on the proper combination of Bio-Identical hormones, my body started to re-balance itself and the extra fat melted off like magic even when my training regimen went down to half the intensity it was when I felt like I was swimming up stream with no paddle and experienced no success from my efforts.

I have continued on the Bio-Identical hormone program for the last 4 yrs and my body is back in peak shape. Yes, I still adhere to working out with weights and an incremental circuit training program of shorter, higher intensity cardio. But, at least with the addition of the proper hormones my body needed, the effort pays dividends. It is pretty hard to go through all of that effort when nothing seems to work. So, Linda…. don’t give up. Apply Joel’s program, but also get your hormone levels checked. As no doubt yours, like mine are low to non-existent! I hope to hear you bubbling with excited success in future postings.

Hey Laura,

First of all congrats on your 12 week transformation…Vince rocks!!
Sounds like we both suffer from the too common lower body fat that likes to linger around until every single pound of fat has mealted away before we see results on our legs.
Truth be told, I think I was just too focused on my legs and looked at them too much to notice the changes.

Second….the word ‘hopefully’ has no meaning to me and you should take it out of your vocab, along with never and cant!! YOU WILL DO IT!!!

I was trianing hard with Vince for about 2 months before meeting Joel in Tampa and explaining my 3 week goals, prior to the photo shoot. Vince and I started incorporating a cheat meal per week after a strict 6 weeks of training and dieting. Joel expained in great detail the reasoning behind having cheat DAYS (full cheat days) with low and moderate carb days, which he explains well in his book.

I did as Vince says, an extreme version of CYWT but the non-extreme version will not leave you hungry. You will fell rejuvenated, healthy, energenic and enpowered. ANY CARBS YOU WANT ON YOU CHEAT DAYS……I REPEAT ANY CARBS YOU WANT ON CHEAT DAYS!!!!

Now in the maintaince phase before I start to train for my 30th birthday, I am still training with Vince and both of us continue to stay with Joe’s CYWT. CYWT is truely a life change. Joel teaches you about hormones and blood sugar regualtions as well as the body mechanics invovled to help you make sense of why and what you are eating, so you can ultimately make your own knowlegdable choices.

Vince is still a master trainer with profoundin knowlegde. My recommendation would be to look at that book (CYWT) for crying out loud and keep using Vince’s techniques. His updates are new things that we both try and find success in and therefore you will too.

Thanks,
Flavia

I agree that both Vince and Flavia have done a great job, and look fantastic. But let’s get some perspective here: that look isn’t real life – it’s just for a few hours of a photo shoot.

For the rest of us who aren’t training for a photo shoot, it’s unlikely we’re ever going to look like they do, and it’s therefore unlikely we’re going to put ourselves through the extreme training and dieting required to achieve those sorts of results. And even if we did, that look only lasts a short time – I doubt it can be maintained long term.

So let’s not beat ourselves up because we don’t look like the best in the fitness industry, or think that by training hard we can look like they do for the rest of our lives. Improve yes, but don’t set yourself up for failure by thinking their goals should be your goals!

Hi,
I live in Denmark and therefore can’t see any reason why I should use Prograde Nutrition products in my program (will soon start on CYWT), but I’ve been using daily supplements like multi-vitamin, fish oil capsules and proteinshakes (from proteinpowder/water mix – right after resistance workout) for a few years now, actually since I started doing resistance training.. As I’m really into this and nutrition in general (although only 18 years old) I’m sure my multi-vitamin and fish oil are of a very high standard..
So – my real question is about the proteinshakes. In your Holiday Program Manual you say a pre-bedtime “snack” should be a proteinshake, should I just replace this with my own type of proteinpowder: http://www.bodyman.dk/shop/bodylab-whey-80-586p.html (I know the site’s in Danish but I hope you understand the nutrients), or should I maybe go for a slow release casein product which could stimulate the protein synthesis throughout the night?
Oh, and one more thing. I don’t have to attend school here in December, but isn’t it difficult to follow the CYWT Program whilst having to attend high school? I’m especially thinking of lunch here.

I am a huge fan of Vince’s DVD set which I purchased when it first came out earlier in the year. I must say, I feel a little discouraged that I purchased it then, and now others can purchase it now and get Joel’s program for free along with it..and at a cheaper price. I feel like I am missing out on another great program. Is there any way that those of us who jumped on the bandwagon and purchased the DVD set the first time around can get Joel’s bonus too? Despite my frustration, I love you all and am so happy to support your programs.

Kelly

Hi Joel,

Thank you for sharing your expertise with everyone. I have bought your CYWT program and I think that it is awesome. My question to you is. Why haven’t you included a workout program and interval training with the CYWT program? Or better You have mentioned that you will email to anyone who bought your CYWT program any updates ( as you have done for the Christmas Holiday ) and I thank you very much for that ( a man of his own words ). Would you consider adding a workout program and interval as an update for the CYWT program?

Thank you

@Morten
I’m from Sweden and I’ve been following CYWT since June this year. Love it, for the first time in my life I feel like I’m in harmony with my eating habits and diet. I’m in Uni right now as well and even though you don’t have as many classes as you do in high school there’s still no reason why you can’t make CYWT work while in school. It’s pretty simple – bring your own lunch. I find it easiest to just take some leftovers from yesterdays dinner.

When it comes to Prograde I haven’t tried their products yet, but they do ship internationally and if you buy several containers at once they ship it too you free of charge, while also taking about $10 and often more of each bottle. That allows you to stack up for 3-6 months and that way the shipping comes to nearly nothing, even though it can be an increased additional cost, on the other hand your set for quite some time.

That said, Prograde aren’t budget and being as student as well I know where you’re at financially. I’ve decided to go the middle way meaning that I’m going to buy the post-workout and protein shakes from them and my vitamins and fish oils from home. I’m the biggest skeptic you can find when it comes to supplements, I’ve written them off completely for year and only started using my firsdt protein shakes about two-three months ago. But with Prograde I feel confident since they say that what’s in the bottle really is what’s in there and there’s not a whole bunch of extra artifical crap which is often the case with many other products, in addiation to often having a very low-quality protien source. In any case, you have to find what works for you and how much money you can spend on this. If you think your products work fine, then go for it.

Joel,

I also have a question about low carb. I’ve just finished the first week of CYWT Holiday edition, going all low carb for seven days. The last four felt like eternity spent in hell. Seriously I’m not exaggerating, I don’t know anyone who does worse on a low carb diet then I do. I had the same thing the first time I tried CYWT this summer in the priming phase. I can go by fine for two days (so the “camel hump” is my way to go when it comes to core phase) but day three I hit the wall, literally. My whole body shut’s down anything that’s not necessary for pure survival. I’m exhausted, blue, aggressive, nausea, headaches and have terrible mood-swings. I can barley put up with myself so my finacée is having the time of his life. Thankfully, we’re doing this together and while a low carb week isn’t vacation for him either he gets by alot better than me. So my question to you is – is it your experience that women usually do worse on low carb diets than men or why is this so hard on me? Or am I simply not eating enough (I’ve been following the hand method for portion sizes)? Can I tweak my low carb days in any way without getting of track?

Otherwise, thanks for a lifechanging experience

All the best

@Ylwa

Thanks a lot for the post ! Really helpful for me – especially because you’re also an “international customer” and at the same time understand my situation by being in a simila, if not the same, situation.

Regarding lunch I do bring my own lunch and always have been as we don’t have the same food program in Danish schools as in Sweden (no hot meals etc. in a school cafeteria).. I understand that you bring leftovers with you and to me that also seems like a good alternative – but I just figure that yesterdays dinner will far from always be “good enough” for todays lunch.. If that is ever the case for you, do you then just bring what you can use and then add whatever extra things you need?

Prograde: I know they do ship for free if you buy for a certain amount of money, but what about VAT’s ? I mean, in Denmark that is a big issue and I am not sure whether or not additional cost will be added – because if it will, then it’s just not worth it for me..

Finally you talk about finding what’s best for me and what works for me, but this is one of the biggest problems for me.. I’m doing fine with the products I use right now, but how do I know if I would do better on Prograde products… I don’t – I would have to try it, which equals spending money (which I rarely have). But I’ll probably just have to trust that I’ll do just fine on the products I use now.. I trust the company and it seems like a good choice for me.

Again thanks a lot and I wish you the best on your continuing journey towards a healthly life :)

@Morten – The VAT’s is a gambling unfortunately, yes. I’ve been studying in Australia since July for one semester so I haven’t actually tried purchasing it from Sweden yet. But my experience tells me it’s kind of a hit and miss. But being that it ships directly to you as a private person there’s a greater chance it’ll pass through unnoticed. If you’re unsure about if and in that case how much you would be charge I always chech out the custome web-page or give them a call, they’re usually very helpful (I buy quite alot of stuff from overseas). And like you say yourself if you feel that you’re doing fine on the products you’re using now then go for that. Cause let’s be honest here – as good as Prograde still might be, it all comes down to marketing in the end and if you trust your company and think the products work no one is in position to tell you you’re wrong ;). Out of curiosity, which brand do you use?

When it comes to lunches I do exactly as you think I do. The portion sizes isn’t really an issue, given that in CYWT you eat six equally big portions throughout the day, so lunch and dinner are both just as big. Given that all weeks “start” with low carb following cheat day and then progress carb-wise that’s usually the only thing you need to add. Going from low carb to low GI is a no-brainer. I use yesterdays low carb dinner the way it is and just add a fruit as dessert to get the carbs I need. When going from Low GI to high GI, basically the only thing you need to keep in mind is that you use a lean protein source such as chicken or tureky on your last Low GI dinner and then just add some starchoer carbs like pasta or brown rice for next days lunch.

This is one of the things I really love the most about CYWT. It’s not rocket science, it’s all “normal” food, it’s really all about how you combine it. Hope things cleared up alittle, glad if I could help. I’m sure you’ll love CYWT, it really is so much more than a diet.

All the best
