I´ve been working out a few years with a kind of half-assed approach and not making any gains. Know I finally decided to get serious and got myself a workout routine I follow rigorously. I know the nutrition side is still lagging behind and I want to correct that. I want to get lean and shredded before I hit the big 4 0 next year.
I am a mother of 2 children who makes all the excuses the typical mother of 2 makes about her struggling weight loss. I do however have an embarassing problem from these 2 babies. While pregnant I gained the weight only in my stomach area. So now I get asked when I’m due… talk about frustrating! I am the ‘lucky’ one in my family (OK, combined with the fact that I enjoy eating right and exercising). My mom, dad and 2 sisters all struggle with their weight. Joel – you are so awesome! Thanks for giving hope to someone who is on the brink of giving up! I am a 36 year old mother of 3 (ages 4, 3 and 1). At 5’3″ and 170 lbs, I am desperate to do whatever I can to get healthy again — my kids don’t even know the leaner, healthier person I was 5 years ago when I got married. A few months ago I was looking through my photos of the last 5 years, and realized that I am only in about 10 – out of hundreds! I have either cropped myself out, or deleted the ones with my chubby-mommy-self (well, technically I’m considered “obese” now, not just chubby). Over the past several months I have started, and given up on many diets because I just wasn’t getting results! 2 months ago I decided to just focus on training for a small race (5K) in hopes that my body would reward me for my efforts. I weighed myself yesterday, and after 2 months of hard work – I haven’t lost a single pound!! I feel so cheated!! I am ready to just give up, and embrace my chubby-mom-hood — but a little voice inside of me is saying “just give it one more try”. My reason is simple. 5 years ago I was just starting university and while I wasn’t in the best shape I was at roughly 210lbs (I’m 6’2). Throughout my 4 years in university I put a total of 60lbs onto my body. Do the math and I was up to 270lbs!
It’s been almost one year since I finished school now and landed a job right away. A little over 6 months ago I decided I would proceed towards getting my body into the best shape I could get it in. I started going to the gym and eating better and I am now currently at 237lbs. So in over 6 months I’ve lost just over 30lbs from my body.
Here’s the bad part. I’ve hit a wall. The past month and a half I haven’t shifted in weight. I’ve tried changing up my workout routine a bit, eating a little differently, asked for tips at the gym from the instructors, but it doesn’t seem to be working. This is why I NEED access to your system. I need to give myself a boost in my weight loss to get me back on track again. I’ve been trying to get off the baby weight from my last pregnancy, a little over two years ago. I managed to lose about 10-15 lbs, but the last 10-15 lbs is staying on. It would help enormously to have a plan that tells me exactly what to eat and exactly how to work out each day, as your new plan does. I plan to get pregnant again soon and would like to be able to actually have one summer (this one–the last one for a while)–where I’m not afraid to buy a bikini, because I actually feel like I look good. I’ve been overweight since the fifth grade (10 years) and have really started to do something about it only in the last year or so. I’m already doing some IF, and I use Craig’s Turbulence Training, but I am only down to around 25% BF. Your program makes a ton of sense and I think it could do wonders for me. My discipline in the gym is rock-solid, but my nutrition is still poor. Help me make sense of it all and show off my hard work in the gym!

I have really appreciated your past few e-mails. I feel like I have learned a lot so far (that I didn’t already know)! I was shocked to hear about something as simple as a massive calorie deficit after a cheat day (or that cheat days should exist at all), and the pre-cheat secrets. These things were so interesting to me because I hadn’t considered the necessity of an inadequate negative calorie balance. I am 23, in my second semester of graduate school, and have lately been so overwhelmed that my exercise routine has kind of been MIA… While working on my undergraduate degree I punished my body, for lack of better words, by drinking excessively… not smart, I know, but I’m ready to fix it.
The main reason I am in desperate need for your knowledge and information is because I am ready to get back into shape and am not having great luck doing it alone! I don’t want to cut my life any shorter than I already have by putting this extra pressure on my heart. The second reason I NEED this information is because I realize how competitive the job market is out there and let’s be honest, appearance counts. I would argue that appearance has a lot to do with getting the job when you and someone else may be down to the final two. After all, who is more hard working (or less lazy) the fat applicant or the fit one?

I am a 47 year old wife, mother and grandmother and like many, I have been trying to lose weight for years. I’m stuck in the yo-yo world. I want to be there for my grandchildren.
