I am so excited for your information! I exercise 6 times a week doing everything from triathlons, to weights, to Bikram Yoga. I also try to eat fairly well. Yet, I continue to have my ups and downs with by shape. Add to that my frustration with the time involved with the traditional exercise methods. I am a BUSY mother of 3 young children, working full time in a demanding career, with a husband in Iraq. I feel that this program will help me because I am mentally ready to lose the 70lbs of extra weight/fat. I have been carrying it for too long and thats been too much to carry on my 5’2″ frame. I have knee problems now and the doc tells me that it could be arthritis and I have to build the muscle back up around the knees. I now can say that I am mentally ready to lose weight. I started writing down my eating habits regardless if I ate good or bad because I wanted to see what I was intaking and I weighed myself in Jan of this yr at 227 and now I am 216 but I have a lot more to go. Short and true…When I hit 50, everything slowed down. I go to the gym, walk and chase my 2 boys around, but it seems like the scale is stuck. It won’t move in any direction but up. I want to be around for my children, to see them accomplish the things in life that all parents want for their children. Heart disease runs in my family and both of my parents left this life in their 60’s. Way too young!!! I believe this program will work for me. I have the motivation and dedication. To answer your question, let me start by saying that Albert Einstein once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” Obviously, he was a much smarter person than I am because the last three years of hard work in the gym (cardio and lifting) are not giving me the results I seek – therefore, I’m insane – great (do you feel the sarcasm). I am a very sensible eater, natural foods, lean meats, anti-Splenda and “fake sugars”, low-to-no-sugar, good-fat-only, water drinking kind of girl. Phew. Something is off though because what I am doing is not working. I am thoroughly intrigued by your discussions of cheat days that reset and optimize leptin levels in order to achieve rapid fat-burning. The thought of “cheating” is something that I rarely do and always end up feeling guilty over when I do. But… according to your practice of cheating, all of the good that I’m constantly doing is actually what is holding me back. I would love to know how to prepare for a cheat day, what the actual cheat day is (one meal, two meals, sunrise to sunset – you catch my drift), and how to recover from the cheat day and hop right back on track. Like many women, I suffer from “I hate my thighs, belly and butt syndrome” and I’d like to beat it once and for all and drop the final 15. Sending out an S-O-S…
This program would be ideal for me at this point in my life because I am a very busy graduate student who has been trying in vain to lose some fat all academic year long. None of the other programs really were a good fit for me, so I basically have lost on net 3 lbs (meaning lost a little more, but gained some back). Now that the end of the semester is nearing, I could really use the program to get ready quickly for a few weddings. The first one is at the end of May and it’s on a beach, which means that I will be making at least one appearance in a bikini during this mini-vacation. Let’s just say that I’m extra motivated now!
I have tried many different “diets” and excercises over the past few years, but can’t seem to keep motivated for any length of time. I get bored with it and/or do not see the results I expectec to see, either at all or fast enough for my liking. I still look in the mirror and am not happy with what I see looking back at me. But now, with the XTREME FAT LOSS DIET sounds like my kind of thing. The thought of you telling me what to eat and what excercises to do for only 25 DAYS, now I really like that; being able to eat what you want every fifth day, love that, and the weight staying off, now I REALLY LOVE that.
I work out so hard, and yet the extra weight doesn’t go away. It is the diet aspect that I always screw up. I can be pretty good for a few days, but after I need real food not just rabbit food. If I can lose the weight being ok for 4 days and then have a cheat day, I think this will be the best program ever. I am tired of gaining back all the weight I lost with my cheat days. I am tired of beating myself up for not losing weight, for not having the willpower to stick to a diet all the time. I need something that works, and I believe you have what I need.
I’ll be 44 next month. I have been dieting and exercising since I was a teenager, and have tried everything short of rubbing chicken blood on my fat to get rid of it consistently (although I AM willing to give that a go, if it works ;) I feel like the older I get, the harder it is to see the results I SHOULD be achieving after all this hard work. In a sea of diet and exercise plans, yours stood out as a logical, well researched approch. I have been reading and listening to your updates with growing excitement, and have been awaiting the release of “Extreme Fat Loss” as rabidly as a ten year old with tickets to a Jonas Brothers concert. I have put myself on restricted calorie diets in the past, but only seemed to hold on to fat, and maybe pick up some more along the way for my trouble. I would end up toned but huge, with fat on top of muscle, and huge is definitely not the look I am going for. I am willing to do the work, but plans I have tried in the past have always seemed to require an enormous amount of effort for mediocre and temporary results. Boosting one’s metabolism with scheduled cheat days and targeted workouts makes more sense than just about anything I’ve read, and I’ve read plenty. I am looking forward to finally getting into the ripped shape I’ve so long tried to achieve, and also to eating my first donut (and then second, and third…) in thirty years – guilt free!…..Thanks, Joel for giving me renewed hope that I can reach my fitness goals!

Part of my life was even spent in the Army, eight years total. During that time, with all the physical training that Uncle Sam could put me through; I was in shape, fit and could even max out the fitness test! Even with that level of “fitness”, I was never “CUT” like the guys I see all the time. I have never been able to “SEE” the muscle definition we all want to see. I always joked that I had “washboard abs,” you just can’t see them for the load of laundry that is on them! After serving in the Army, I lost the “shape” and fitness that I had gained. I became overweight.
I have finally had enough. I started a weight loss program six months ago. I have lost 45 pounds. I am working out again trying to get back in shape. Even with losing all that weight, I still have those areas that you can’t see muscle tone. Yes, I still have a load of laundry on my washboard abs! It is time to get the laundry off my washboard! After some medical issues, I have for the first time in my life I have began to struggle with wieght loss issues. My health requires that I loose 30 to 40 pounds. I’m a 44 yr old mother who in the past 2 years have gained 20lbs and have a fat percentage of 38%. I petite so any weight that I gained turns into ugly fat. I’ve gained this weight due to a few agonizing times within the last 2 years anxiety and depression being one of them. I can’t work out as hard as I used to – when my heart starts pumping the anxiety starts kicking in and I feel like I’m about to pass out. I’ve been trying to lose weight for the last year for my health and yet have only had minimal loss. I am pre-diabetic and very afraid that if I don’t get my weight under control I will be diabetic. I am a mother of two and a three year cancer survivor. It has been a struggle to maintain a healthy weight ever since my second child and chemo. As you can imagine my body has gone through a number of obstacles/changes etc. and still to this day I am unable to get my body looking the way I want it to. Life is full of ups and downs, especially in the weight department. Every diet I have tried has plateaued and unfortunately, you have to keep trucking to break that barrier. I need access to this information because I want to be in the best shape of my life. I am in pretty good shape now 180lb about 12% bf but I see myself as average. I’ve tried many different programs and diets and I have gotten good results but that is the problem. I want great results. I have no problem bulking and losing weight but the problem is my weight loss comes with lost size and strength and my fat loss always seems to stall right about where I am now. After reading the tips you’ve been sending I noticed that I have tried some of the techniques you have mentioned and I am interested in how you put them together or tweeked them to get such awesome results. To be perfectly honest, I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on this info and will end up getting it whether you give it to me for free or not. I just feel that I have the dedication and motivation to get the results this system is intended to produce.
This program has peaked my interest in the best way. It has gotten me motivated to get back in some shape other than round. The last time I attempted an exercise program was when Bill Phillips owned EAS and Muscle Media magazine. I entered the body transformation challenge and had to stop a month and a half in to it due to unfortunate circumstances. I would have to say that was in 1998. At the time I was at my heaviest at 221 pounds of not much muscle on a 5’6″ frame. In that month and a half I went down to 184 pounds before I had to stop. Now I am much older, have kids, go to school at night and I am at 238 pounds. I am not having the success with fat loss that I once had. I’ve been following an other diet when i discovered, your faboulous “Xtreme fat loss diet”, and all of yours advices was for me a real revelation. I’m french boy come from a little island in the caraib named Martinique, Sport or gym is not really a big part of our culture, that’s why it’s really hard for me to find the determination, ’cause i had no coach, nobody or nothing to help me. That’s why i went to internet to find something (program, coach…) and i found you (fortunately). I’m 22 years old, i strarted to work as manager in transport company and with my 220 lb, i don’t think i am completly operational and energetic. As a manager, i need to feel good in my mind but physically too, to be an example for my workers. When you made me discovered the leptin “thing”, and the fabolous cheat day, i tried it with my daily exercise, and i’m loosing faster and getting more muscle, so i just want to see when i’ll follow your entire method.

I’m a 45 yr old mom with 2 active young girls. I also work as a Physiotherapist helping patients with recovering from CVA’s. In the past my experience with exercise has been sporadic. I’m able to be motivated and exercise and “diet” like crazy for about 3 months, I lose some weight and look skinny thin, however I’m exhausted due to the extreme pace of keeping up the crazy schedule and finding balance in life. I tend to hit the wall around 3 months and then am so tired that I stop exercise to recover my energy and the eating style suffers too. After a while, I’ve lost self esteem and motivation, I’ve regained the weight I lost AND added a few extra pounds, ending up about 30lbs overweight. The clothes start to feel tight and uncomfortable but the cycle of not being successful with exercise that is balanced for my lifestyle as well as traditional eating habits of eating lots of comfort carb foods is challenging to overcome. Negative thought patterns can be hard to break if not dealt with properly. I’ve recently started using the DSP program with Isabel for a few weeks and have been finally been seeing some balance and sense in eating style. My desire is to find a balanced effective and efficient exercise program that I can modify to use at home (too busy to go to a traditional gym and I’ve found I work better in the home setting with personal equipment). I’d also like to try to modify some of the exercise principles to see if they can help some of my patients as well – especially when they can’t use one arm and one leg properly due to their stroke. It’s quite a challenge for them and I’d like to be able to offer some other options to help them normalize their muscle tone and regain some of the movement they’ve lost. Hopefully a win win situation for both of us – me losing the weight and being physically fit and then to help others with the new information I’ve learned. Thanks.
Hey Joel, I have been struggling with weight loss all of my life and it has got to the point where I don’t leave my house except for work and to get groceries. I just got married last summer and because of my deep struggle with my weight my marriage has suffered. We are still together and we love each other but we are no longer intament and haven’t been since our wedding night (07/17/2009) and it is all my fault. I am so embarrassed of my body I do not want anyone to look at it, not even my husband. I am very worried that I have pushed him so far away that I will never reach him again :0(

After I finished competing in College Athletics I gained 75 pounds. While 20 of it was probably needed, the other 55 became a real issue. About 6 years ago I realized that the extra weight was hampering and will have a serious negative impact on my future. So, I began my quest to lose that pesky 50-55 lbs.
