I am 44 years old. I was diagnosed with hypothroidism a little over one year ago. I have gained 30 pounds in one year and I feel like I am going to die most days. I am 5’3″ and weigh 170lbs. I really need your help. Nobody on my moms side of my family has lived over 50 years old due to heart disease and cancer and I am scared to death that I might only have 6 years left to live. I have always tried to eat well and exercise and I have been able to loose weight until now. I have also always had high cholesterol since my twenties. I have a really hard time looking at myself in the mirror and my boyfriend is becoming less and less intimate with me which does not help the self esteam very much. Please help me. Thank you!

At 48 yrs old with 4 children ages 3 – 13 I need all the help and energy possible. After years of powerlifting abusing my body and metabolism, I need help. After the lifting was over and many injuries, I have gained weight I think I also gained with each child my wife had. Now she has begun to run and is back in fabulous shape. Ever since my sister was diagnosed with diabetes I knew I had to get back in shape. This program is the PERFECT program for me at this time in my life, as I have just set a goal for my 40th birthday to enter a fitness competition. I think you program sounds fabulous. I am a woman who has had a very difficult time losing and keeping off weight. It has gotten extremely difficult now that I am in the menopause years. This year I completely changed my eating. I am following Isabel’s eating plan and have seen some success but have only lost 14 pounds since the first of the year.
For the past 4 years I have been exercising 4-6 hours per week and I feel all I am doing is preventing myself from gaining weight. Last year I even spent the money on a personal trainer with no results. When I started Isabel’s plan I was able to actually lose some weight but I am again stuck and not losing just maintaining. I need to lose 40 more pounds and feel like I am spinning my wheels right now. My biggest concern is the amount of time i spend at the gym with few results.
I know nothing is a magic bullet and requires time and dedication. I have gotten to my goal weight before but I am never able to maintain and I have never been toned. I have always stayed a little soft. It sounds like you and your team have done your homework and figured out a system that makes sense and works for anybody.
I would love to be the example for my age group. I want to prove that I can lose this weight and get in the best physical shape of my life even in my 40’s.
Xtreme Fat loss diet is what I need. I’m a student who trains about 5-10 times a week. 50/50 strength and intervals/running etc. I have been training for about 3 years and have seen good results, especially from January. I was using “max-OT”. A great program too, but i need a program that gets me lean without losing any of my muscle. That is just what your program is about.
I’m capable of training much and have good eating habits. I’m good at planing my schedule. I My think my diet is good, but there is always ways of improvement. Both in training and diet.

I’m a 42 yr old mother of 2. I can’t even say my weight gain if from giving birth since we adopted our children in 2000. However, having children has made it easy not to watch my weight.
I was 110 lbs most of my life. VERY skinny for 5’7″ girl and never had to watch my weight. In my late 20’s my metabolism took a nose dive. No explanations – all tests showed my levels were “normal” – I just didn’t have my metabolism.
I’ve dieted since in my 30’s but have had NO commitment, that is until this past October when we moved and I found the scale to see that I was at 190 lbs and had put on 10 of that in 1 month!
I joined a gym, started to watch my food intake and have dropped 35 lbs. Right now, I’m at the last 20 lbs and I have the motivation and determination. I work out 6 days a week but I need to refocus to firm up and get lean muscle.

I’m 42 and have been through a number of diets and weight loss programs all my life. I’ve lost from “a lot” to “next to nothing” depending on the program, but always gained all of it back with interests after a while. I have a very sedentary job but love to exercise, do yoga and gym 5 times a week, and cruise with my mountain bike during the weekends. But I’m way overweight anyway. What am I doing wrong?
I’ve stopped looking for the perfect diet and the perfect body. Now I’m looking for perfect health. If I get to look good in the process so much the better!

The past 15 years have been about staying fit, and trying to shed pounds. I am 48, have been married (to the same wonderful man) since I was 19. We’ve raised 3 great kids and are now grandparents of 2! So my goal and desire is to be fit and able to keep up with them! I want to take them hiking and biking and kayaking. And I want to do it with energy left over!
I began working out with weights recently and the muscle definition is really coming along…but I’ve put on 8 pounds! I thought I ate healthy, but I know I’m not always the best with food, and I love food. I need to learn more about what to eat and when to eat it and how much I need to eat!
I want to gain control of my eating, and see the results of that flow over into my appearance and energy levels.
I work as a caterer and the hours are long, so I’m also hoping to learn to pack more punch into a shorter workout. My current work out is 90 minutes of weights and treadmill intrevals.

This sounds like my dream come true. I’ve been on literally every diet out there. I have gained and lost a couple hundred pounds!! I am sure that I am not the only one in this world that expects quick results. I get discouraged when I don’t see or feel any different within a couple of weeks. Getting on the scale after working my butt off, protein shakes, monitoring calories…. all so boring. I can follow anything if I can feel/see a difference.
I’ve struggled with my weight for 25-30 years. I have managed to lose 50 pounds so far. I’ve been on a stall for about six months now. I’ve increased my excercise program, following a healthier diet… Not moving on the scale.

Well, I got married 2 years ago and I was 10lbs thinner then. I’ve been eating right, keeping my calories in the 1500 range, working out in the Josh Hillis fashion and I’m stuck. Depressingly stuck. I can not seem to loose more than a pound or two right now and that just comes back. I am so frustrated I could cry. If I eat less, I’m just hungry and cranky and tired. Joel ~ I’m 53 years old and have two teenage sons living with me. Six years ago I was in an auto accident and my girlfriend was killed and I was injured severely on my left hip and knee. An ortho surgeon did a great job on me and put me back together. I remarried a lady from my church who had three daughters and they moved into my home. Four years ago I was in another bad car wreck which left me with a traumatic brain injury. I lost my job and have been on disability since. My wife and daughters moved out when I returned home from rehab and we divorced as soon as possible from that time. My sons are starting to drive and unfortunately I have gained weight by not being as active as I once was. I want to lose about 60 pounds and build my life back up. I have a wonderful new girlfriend now who is a nurse and I want to look my best for her. I could really use this diet plan to get me on the right track. Thanks and God bless.
I keep telling my husband, Steve, he is a lean mean machine. It’s called being positive – speaking out what you believe will ultimately happen:) So the program would be a great incentive for him. He kills himself on the rower, swims lengths and lengths in the pool and spends far too long in the gym. He borrowed my son’s protein powder on his last business trip so is clearly motivated but sadly doesn’t have the know-how. It would be great fun to see his sixpack make a comeback!!!!
Both my husband and I have been struggling with weight issues for the past 12 years. I’ve tried every fad diet I can think of and I still can’t lose the weight. I have to be careful of the special foods diets because I’m hypoglycemic and can get ill without enough sugar in my system. I’m an active Mom of 3, dance teacher, cheer coach etc. I’d like to be able to keep up with my cheerleaders this year, in training!
I met my husband in college and he weighed 145 pounds. Since then he has gained over 100 pounds and feels unhealthy, but diets by just not eating, which isn’t working because then he splurges and eats to much cause he’s starving.
