I am a 41 year old man from Holland. Ever since I finished college and my life got into that “routine” of work, relationship and a child, I fell right into the trap of getting less and less active, eating worse and gaining weight each and every year. 18 months ago I decided things had to change. My selfesteem was lower than ever, I did not feel healthy and I really felt fear that my son would have to grow up without a father if I were to continue down this path.
So I started working out, doing lots of cardio, went on a diet and within 3 months I lost 15 kilos of weight. I felt great about myself but then I hit a plateau that I just have not been able to beat.
Recently I started DEFL and it’s great, however I would now very much like to integrate it with a program that concentrates on the food aspects. From everything I read, I conclude that XFL can really help me to finally, FINALLY put together a complete program that helps me achieve my goal.

After 10 years in the fitness game i’ve become a serious skeptic about a lot of tactics/advice/supplements. However, your voice rings through as the voice of reason/logic/sensibility.

Turning 30 was a reality check, realizing that it’s a lot harder to maintain weight than when I was in my 20’s. I’ve always been between 9-12% body fat with a bigger build around 205lbs. Recently, I ended a very toxic relationship with my ex, where I gained 28 lbs over 1.5 yrs and became apathetic, lazy, and undisciplined (splurging on fast food, working out only 1-2 days every other week, etc).

A few weeks ago I woke up and looked in the mirror and was disgusted by what I saw. “What have you done to yourself” I asked myself. Frustrated with my weight gain, i decided that it’s time to change. After reviewing your audio call with your colleagues, an excitement awakened in me..almost a tingling sensation. I KNOW that this program will work, its got everything covered from workouts to letpin modulation, nutrient timing, glycogen depletion/repletion. I know I can follow it to the last letter. I need to embrace my inner fatkid once in a while and the cheat days allow for that (unlike the Velocity diet that I only lasted 9 days on). @Jannette – I’m 46 year old Brit female and have been in dieters prison for around 30 years! The only time I kept it off was when I worked for Weight Watchers for 7 years and had to screw myself to the floor and make myself miserable in order to stay looking good. No surprise that when i quit the job the weight rolled back on.

Last year I found an amazing Mentor that helped me to sort out my head with regard to emotional eating and now, a year later I’m MUCH happier – 30lbs lighter but still have 30lbs to go as I ground to a halt last August!! I eat SO healthily and work really hard at the gym 6 days a week but I have the feeling I’m NOT “working smart”!!

I teach drama and dance and would LOVE my own kids and the kids I teach to be able to see that I’m a walking advert for my lifestyle and improve my fitness further by losing more weight.

I just KNOW that this programme will help me do this! I am excited by it, I know what you’re saying is true because I’ve researched quite a lot of science that you refer to and more than anything I KNOW I’ll stick to it!

I’m going to lose 75lb of flab in the next few months and have a killer body that gets me noticed. I’m determined this will be my year for achieving this FOR LIFE! I’ve dieted on and off for years with only short term results (the longer term results actually adding pounds of fat to my body!)

I’ve previously focused just on losing weight rather than focusing on a lean, muscular body with a low body fat %. I’d always done some exercise with my diets but before reading about your program, I’d never considered that the TYPE of exercise and TIMING of exercise was important too. I’m so intrigued to read exactly how to put together the strategic fast days, cheat days, exercise etc.

I really need a fat loss program for my daily life , i used to play tennis till the last 3 years at which i had to stop for studing issues plus family problems…..This was a HUGE problem as i was used to eating what i want and was all burnt during tennis & fitness . now i am really lost whithin all the different diets that i seem unable to stick to one of them due to the temptation of the other one and then i honestly collapse and start hating the reasons that i stopped playing tennis for (ie hating my life now) …. Depression > more eating and getting fat… so honestly i need a life time program and i don’t know what to do.

I have loved your information over the past week. The cheat days and depletion days seem so logical. Your workout tips and nutrional information is really inspiring me to get fit and lose the body fat that I am carrying. Yours is the most inspiring program that I have seen.
The variety of workout and the speed of workouts dur to less rest time as well as constantly changing the routine all lead to a mote challenging and more effective focused workout.

I took a chance by clicking on your ad, and after reading and listening to the updates, I can’t remember being this excited to try a new program! I’ve tried a few that are out there, but couldn’t stick with them … shift work, 2 teen-aged daughters, … you know – life! I’ve gained about 25 to 30 lbs over the past 10 years due to stress, work, and lack of motivation… not very happy with myself at this point. You’ve explained your research and the application of it in plain “English” and the results are there to see right in front of me. I especially like the way you don’t try to shove products down my throat at the end of your updates. Hi Joel. I am 36 yrs. old. 308 pounds. 5’10”. I have recently found the woman i am going to marry. She is wonderful! As a 308 pound man i am ashamed and embarrassed. I am a 53 year old grandmother. I still have excess weight from my children almost 30 years ago. Have tried and tried to shed the weight. I have done the “quick” gadgets, tried and true “recipes” and explosive exercises to no avail. Help me please. I am counting on you to make this grandma’s dreams come true.

I’m sick of being “that guy.” That guy who can’t ride with his kids at the amusement park because the safety bar won’t go over his belly. That guy who falls asleep as soon as his backside hits the couch. That guy who would never dream of taking his shirt off at the beach. That guy who can’t get the sale because he looks like a slob. That guy who gets asked by his kids, “Daddy, why are you so fat?”

I want to be “that guy.” That guy who can run around with his kids and be actively involved in their lives. That guy who can be an inspiration his family and friends. That guy who can walk into the sales meeting with confidence, knowing that his first impression is a good one. That guy who will be around to be the best dad, granddad, or even great granddad ever.

Well, to say the least… I am DESPARATE.. lol… I have been on one diet after another, I have had personal trainers, but nothing seems to work. For the last two years, I have been on an xtremeFatGain, so when I saw your diet, I thought wow, I can totally change my life around and go from xtremeFatGain to xtremeFatLoss. I followed original programme and it worked great, I lost all the body fat I wanted. Now I am lean, but cant get that final percentage down. The notion that depleting before cheat days makes sense and combined with lactic acid training I believe will enable me to get that final fitness comp look, that I am struggling with. My partner needs extra help as he trains hard, eats well but cannot shift the belly weight and it is very frustrating for him. He is starting to think that nothing he does works for him! This programme will be the answer to all his problems and something he can really take on board. So we need it for the two of us, one to shift what is already lean and the other to shake up that body and give him hope that the right plan of action has results!

I’ve been an advocate of cheat days for a while now but have always had to deal with the 1.5lb weight gain the day after, slowing my week on week fat loss down. Its music to my ears to hear of a strategy which allows me to cheat AND not have to pay for it!! I also love the idea of a synergic program incorporating diet and excercise for optimum results. This is definitey the next step for me. And if I can look half as good as Flavia by the end I’ll be the happiest woman in London.

I have manage to lose 16 pounds about a year ago and maintained it for 5 months, but then I start to slip because of the strict diet that I put myself into which means that I have not had my favorite food (ie. pizza, ice cream) for 9 months, I lost it 2 months ago and went off the diet and I gained 23 pounds in 2 months!!! 7 more pounds than I initially started and in 2 months!!! I wanted to cry!

i am a 30 year old who weighs 284lbs with lower back problems. although i dont look it i am an extremely active man. having a big gut doesn’t help the back problem and it also feels horrible running and jumping around with flab wobbling all over the place. over the years i have tried loads of fad diets, i even did some weight lifting, from behind i look like the sort of person who spends 23 hours a day pumping iron but from the front i look like someone who spends 23 hours a day eating donuts. i really need to lose the flab.

Hey Joel, as mostly everyone writing to you, i am overweight and at 19 just about to go into my 20s i feel like this could give me a life i have always dreamed of. Ever since i can remember ive been fat and with that comes bullying, low-self esteem and years of feeling like i cant be loved. I have dealt with a lot of those feelings, but as i have gained weight i feel different from my skinny, pretty friends. I spent high school as someone who didnt enjoy life, but i feel like this opportunity could give me a chance to live life to the full and let my 20s be full of swimming, beaches and all those things i feel like i cant do because im fat. I know with the right knowledge… your knowledge that this is possible. I say bring it on!

Im 35 and have 5 Children,and a big cuddly Husband.
I put on weight a bit with each child,I and would really love to get back to my pre children size and weight,But with everthing I try I only see minimal results,and often feel like giving up,Its like my body is so use to this weight and wants to hold on to it.I need your help,Mummy tummy has to go!I just dont want to be asked anymore “When is your baby due?”
Also my Husband wants to make some serious changes too,hes put on over

Tried another program of yours, I try about 2 a year, but nothing works so far. Either the diet part is impossible or the exercises routines starting too advanced.

I’m 37 years old and 182lb, probably 20 too many.
My knees are telling me so. My shoulders tell me so too when doing push-ups.
I’ve got to lose weight this year or I will probably lose some function in my legs.
My life is already severely hindered by my noisy knees.
My body and the mirror are telling me I’m too heavy.

Eat pizza and lose fat?!? Are you serious!?! You had me there… I was so in!!! No, seriously, It got me very curious.. And, the more I read the more it made sense. Particularly the part about cranking up the leptin levels once a week (“The glorious Cheat Day”) to avoid the dreadful plateau, build lean muscle with strategic exercises the same day and double your fat burning the next day and this is week after week. It was so logical. It’s almost ridiculous. Of course, psychologically, instead of feeling downright crappy and menstrual, you feel happier and more alive everyday. And it sound so much easier when someone tells you “Okay, follow this for 25 days” than ”Hey this if your life” Let’s face it, one is more likely to stick to the former. I know I am.

Although not overweight, I do have a high body fat percentage. And If this program can really do what it says it can then it’s not just for me but for everyone who wants to lose body fat and be happy in the process instead of depressed with sorry *** results.

And if I can lose 25 lbs. of fat in 25 days and at the same time build lean muscle… Well, I’ll be laughing…. And singing…. And dancing…. :-)

A few years ago I was slim, ate a healthy diet, and exercised regularly, and then I was diagnosed with Fibromaylgia. The doctors put me on a medication which caused a 50 pound weight gain. Ever since then, I have been trying to lose those 50 pounds to no avail. I’ve lost the same 10 to 15 pounds over and over again. I’ve tried every diet under the sun, but my weight always seem to plateau and then I eventually gain the weight back. I need your program because it would give me a jump start on my 50 pound goal. My self esteem has taken a serious beating because I didn’t gain the weight sitting on the couch eating bonbons but no one that sees me knows this. Also, because the weight wasn’t due to pigging out, “cutting back” doesn’t seem to work for me, because there’s not much to cut back on. I’m obviously doing something wrong, otherwise I’d be at my goal, so your program would point me in the right direction. I am a hard worker and will be the poster child for discipline. I’m a 42-year old mum of 2 with about 28 pounds to lose to get me in good shape, or 40 pounds to get me in awesome shape. My problem is I look at loads of different systems & try to pick the bits that appeal to me – result I get nowhere because I’m not being consistent with anything.
