I am still trying to lose weight & gain mucles & finding i have hit a plateau and not getting the results. I’ve tried all other diets/programs & I need simplicity and a step by step program. I’m having a de-ja-vu as I write this. I remember thinking, ‘who the hell is Joel and why am I writing to him?’ Eerie, but I take this as a ‘sign’.
Aside from that, I’ve been enjoying your update videos and of course that hottie John! I’m a thirty-something dating a 22 year old and need I say more? It is imperative that I look and feel as young as humanly possible! I’m 5’6″, 150lbs, 27% body fat, great skin, Libra. I eat all organic (good) but only what I like (bad). I do Bikram yoga 6 times a week. As you probably know, this is a 90 minute yoga done in a 103 degree room. As a result, I lost 40lbs and gained some lean muscle on my legs and arms; but I got these elastic fatty thingies on my thighs, tummy, and ass. Actually, I don’t mind keeping the ass but it still needs to be tighter. I haven’t been able to get rid of this stubborn fat clinging to my mid section. I’m a curvy-sexy but I want to be a curvy-sexy with flat abs, dang it!
I know your program is going to work, because it covers everything. The input & output and synergy; the starvation=survival mode; tricking the body to your advantage; everything geared towards THE maximum fat loss. How can it not work? Help! I have unsightly sagging skin in my tummy area after my recent weight loss. I’m a 42yr old woman. I’m five foot seven and currently 67-68 kg. My goal is to continue to improve meshing my training/diet/exercise routine to the point where I can fight in amateur MMA competitions, win, then go professional. I believe in using the best science available to max. results and save time. At 42 I don’t have lots of time to waste to do what I want to do! Everything you’ve said so far checks out with either what I’ve learnt or am already doing and I trust your methodology! I want to fight at 63-64 kg, which is the top end of mid weight class and therefore offers the best advantage. I want as much of that weight as possible to be strong lean muscle. Ideally 15 percent body fat or less. I’d also like to enjoy feeling hotter and more confident as well! I’m a trainer at one of the two gyms where I fight and I’d like to be an inspiration for other women. I already train hard, I’ve been doing high intensity 15 minute weight/cardio workouts as well as fight training for 2 months now and it’s working brilliantly! I’d like to train smarter and eat smarter! I eat pretty clean, doing the no refined carbs. and low carbs at night approach. I’m motivated, disciplined and can follow instructions! I would like to move from the ‘Extreme Failure’s Diet’ to the ‘Extreme Fatloss Diet’!
I am a 56 year old mother of 7 and grandmother of 10 (so far!). For the past several years I have tried to get fit and healthy by eating healthy and exercising.
(We live on a farm in Australia and grow a lot of our own fruit, vegetables, meat and eggs).
I have done all this with almost no results. I have been running, and everyone said the weight would melt off me when I trained. It didn’t.
I am not hugely overweight but I have about 20 pounds that I can’t seem to budge. I have been gradually gaining still more weight recently due to menopause. How unfair is that!
I have tried many programs over the years, some that have promised amazing weight loss. I have had no success even though I have followed the programs to the letter. One recently said the average person loses 2-4 pounds a week, and I gained 3!!

Then anything would work!

Jeff, I hit 50, went through menopause, gained 20 pounds and can’t get it off! I am freaking out! I was always a hottie, did my share of exercise. But this time is different. I increased my work outs to 5 days a week and eating a high protein diet but it just wont budge. I am desperate! I SO need someone to teach me how to get this fat off! I have struggled with my weight my entire life and even had gastric bypass surgery 10 years ago. I lost weight with the surgery and learned the discipline necessary to maintain the weight loss. Hi, basically I’m trying to find a way to shift that last stubborn bit of belly fat; this has always been a problem for myself, my dad and both my brothers, as we all suffer from what we jokingly call ‘the family gut’. I’m half way on my fat loss journey – 2 years ago I had hypertension and weighed 220lbs with 45% body fat. I’m 5ft 6 – that was not healthy, and I did not look good! Hi Joel, I am your classic skinny fat person, and I need your help to get out of this rut! Since having two kids I am carrying more weight that seems to be permanently stuck around my lower abdomen and love handle area as well as my lifelong problem area, my butt and thighs. I have been going through different reputable diet & exercise programs for the last year or so, and simply can’t seem to lose any more of my flab. I consider myself to be in good shape, but still flabby. Currently I am 5’5” 137 pounds, 28% body fat. Since Christmas I have eaten a very clean diet, (whole grains no high fructose corn syrup, no sugar, or hydrogenated oils) exercised 5 days a week, and lost roughly 4.5% of my body fat (down from 32.3%). However, when I tracked my calories, and ate 1300-1500 a day I was maintaining my weight. When I increased my calorie intake to just over 1500 I gained weight, leaving me 5 pounds over what I weighed a month ago. My body had entered into starvation mode, and using some of your knowledge on the benefits of cheat days I feel like I am finally out of that cycle. With your additional knowledge I know that I will finally reach my goal of 20% body fat. I am willing to do the work & follow the plan, so please help me lose my muffin top once and for all!
I have been reading the updates since Kim Lyons referred your site. I’m just amazed of how your program makes sense to me because I sort of know a little bit about dieting, but nothing compares to what you have shared so far. I actually semi-started your techniques since last Thursday because I have been trying to lose weight for about 5 weeks now, but not getting any improvement week after week. After a few days of trying your techniques, I finally saw progress. I am currently at 13% bodyfat, the lowest I have gotten was 11%. I have always dreamed of getting down to 8% or below, but was never able to no matter how much I tried. I am a “recovered” anorexic and I am trying SO hard to be healthy by eating right, working out hard, and avoiding disordered eating patterns in my quest to have a LEAN, STRONG, HEALTHY body. (much emphasis on healthy) Although I am doing well in not resorting to unhealthy strategies for fat loss, my eating disorder has really taken a toll on my hormones and metabolism. I am in a VERY good place now, but like I said, I want to be strong and lean but I’m in a fat loss plateau and I REFUSE to give up on my commitment to correcting my metabolism the right way. I’m not exactly sure how to rebalance my hormones and metabolism and gain healthy muscle, but your program seems to have the answers I need as far as nutrition and exercise. The rest of me is handled. YAY FOR ME!

I have been struggling with some final pounds of fat for more than 10 years. It seems impossible to lose the fat in the “love handles”. I have tried many diets and even fasting. When I got more acquainted with your fat loss approach through fasting and “cheat days”, I was really excited because I have tried all that in the past but it never worked out for me. Of course I have not performed such in depth research into how the body works. But I do know that maintaining a fast metabolism is crucial, and fasting just makes it slow. Knowing the proper way to manipulate your body’s metabolism and hormones is the truly the fastest way to fat loss. I also like the fact that your program is also designed to maintain muscle. I am interested in body building but I feel cannot start until I shed the last pounds of excess fat in my body. I would love to have the opportunity to use your program. This program is perfect for me at this point of my life because I am 22, completed college, about to start a career and hoping to live my life with someone I love. I am not someone who has had a weight problem all of my life. When I was in college, I worked out at the gym with a trainer several times a week and was on an extreme low fat diet. Though an insane training program (I am pretty disciplined), I was able to maintain a healthy BMI and weight.
Now I am in my thirties and am considered morbidly obese according to the BMI chart. I have a 19 month old son and have been morbidly obese every since I had him. I lost a little weight at first but when I stopped breast- feeding, my weight began to soar up (and it was already high.) It has continued to climb, and despite my wholehearted attempts at low fat, Atkins, and every other diet under the sun, I keep on gaining. I take high blood pressure medication, and strokes and aneurysms run in my mom’s side of the family. I feel like I am a ticking bomb and I need desperate help because nothing I am trying seems to be working.
Your program makes complete sense, and it seems incredibly well researched. I feel very optimistic that I can lose fat on your program, and I have not felt that way in a very long while.
