Hi Joel, I have returned to college at the ripe age of 41 to complete my master’s degree, and due to the demands of school and work, I have really packed on the pounds. I’ve always had a few extra pounds on my hips and belly and it didn’t bother me too much. Last year however, my life changed quite a bit: last fall I moved from an all-year-warm mountain town, where I was walking a few miles every day, to a much colder place that kept me inside all winter. I also started a home-based business involving a lot of computer work. And the menopause finally hit me – I’m 50.
As a result, I am now carrying 15 brand new pounds of fat around my belly. It shows even when I wear loose clothes. I am not yet ready for Mumu’s and old-lady dresses – probably never will be. I feel that your program will help me get rid of the spare tire that I am carrying around. I have been trying to get rid of it for quite some time now. I have struggled with my weight for about 22 years, I’m 42 year old male. I have tried to go the gym,but do not see results I want. I really would like a program to take me step by step to do things correctly and get results. I want to make this change for myself and my 2 girls so they can be proud of their father.
I see a little of myself in many of your readers’ comments. I am a 38 yo stay at home mother of 3 incredibly active boys. I am ragged from a hectic lifestyle and carrying 15-20 pounds, left from having babies. I am also a student, pursuing my interest in health and fitness; the health portion sparked by becoming a mother and the fitness portion sparked by my oldest son who is an elite athlete. (It is hard to motivate your children to MOVE when all you do is *sit* on the sidelines. I refuse to be a spectator in life, but I am not moving enough.) In my classes I have learned so much about weight training for strength, endurance, and weight loss, but there is still much debate about techniques and my classmates and I compare notes all the time. I am at the still at the start of this journey and I will always be a student. I will also probably always use my kids, friends, and myself as guinea pigs, for testing training programs, but only if the program is not harmful, it is well planned, created by knowledgeable and trusted persons in the industry, and is not contrary to scientific findings. Eveery time I try to post, I get error 504 – gateway host did not respond.
I just had my yearly physical and my doctor was disappointed that I gained back 22 lbs of the original 55 lbs I lost. I was told to get it back off. I have tried various programs, but at some point I plateau out and start putting the weight back on. I exercise 3 times a week of resistance training and 4 times on the treadmill. I am stuck once again. In addition to the 22 lbs, I need to lose an additional 50. 3 years ago I had blood clots in my right lung, so losing this weight and keeping it off is medically necessary. I keep trying. Maybe your program will work for a long time to come.

I am in the Army National Guard, just returned from deployment in Iraq. Actually both my son & I just returned home from deployment. I am 51 years old. I am a Federal Technician, a Weekend Warrior, part-time college student and a single mom. My goal this year before my next birthday is to be in the best shape of my life, actually I would love to be able to model in a contest here on base. Can you just see it, someone twice the age… But I have a long way to go. Perhaps this year perhaps next year. Like you I have spent lots of time wondering all over the country side, looking at maps, asking directions & getting nowhere fast. At least not fast enough for me!:) I would love to be rescured from being lost in the misguided information that is lurking everywhere these days. And if you ask me if I am tired of looking I would say yes but I will continue my quest of losing the white fluffy fat that surrounds me and to keep looking for the instruction/road map for that hard lean calorie burning muscle. That is my ultimate goal.

The automatic weight gain that this life event brings to women is very discouraging and there is precious little information out there to help us lose those pounds. It’s not IMPOSSIBLE of course, just extra difficult because our hormone changes cause us to keep the extra weight. So we’re battling not just normal body tendencies, but hormones as well! I am passionate about health and nutrition and I see myself as an example for both people that are older than me and younger than me. As I look around, I see so many men and women with excess body fat and chronic illness and mental illness and they don’t know what to do or what is causing it. They feel that this is just their lot in life. I am 48 years old but I am in better shape than many people much younger. I get asked all the time what I do to stay fit and look young. Sometimes they don’t like my answers and are unwilling to do the hard work. However, I think the concepts and strategies that you have shared are excellent and based on sound scientific evidence. They give people an opportunity to do the hard work of regaining their health but also enjoy the foods they like occasionally and strategically to actually lose more weight! I would like to use these strategies to improve not only my health (there is always room for improvement) but more importantly to be able to share with those who are in much more desperate situations than I am. I am a 44 year old woman who had never had a weight problem until I turned 40. Now I can’t seem to eat anything that WON’T pack on the pounds. my name is su. i am 29yr old from NY. all my life i have been chubby. kids in my school used to make fun of me. i lost confident in my self. in 2006 i decided i want to get myself back up again. i started tracks every single day and dieted for about 6 months straight, lost only up to 20 pounds. i dont know why after all those hard work i can only lose up to very little. still i looked better than what i was before i got my self confidence back. but i still dont understand why i cant lost my weight. i got married in 2006 got pregnant in 2008 i gained everything back plus 30lbs more. and i lost my baby :( i am still trying so hard to go back to my old weight i have tried few programs nothing really worked for me. last month i visited my primary doctor and other specialist for check up and my cholesterol level is high and she asked me to lose weight. and me and my husband is trying to have a baby and doctors told me that my weight is a factor that conception is taking longer due to irregular period and things..i am hoping this program (xtream fat loss) will help me get my self confidence and my physical health back again.
