January of this year I decided to do something about my weight. I was just into the “overweight” category and thought it would be pretty straight forward and simple to lose 20-30 lbs. The frustration that followed, after 3 months of counting calories and working out 5 Xs a week, and only losing 3 lbs, was maddening! At my wit’s end, I went to a weightloss doctor and tried the low glycemic approach, plus Phentermine. I was able to lose 9 lbs in the 1st week, but have been stuck there ever since, even with continued weight training & interval cardio. My BFF’s annual MEGA pool party is about a month away, and I daydream everyday about wowing my friends. Usually there’s a crowd of 150+, many of whom struggle with their weight too. What an opportunity it will be to share your program and my results with all of them!

Ok Joel here is what I think
I have been training a lot, here in Venezuela, in my house because I can’t afford a gym.
So even though I think I’m in good shape, I need that extra edge that only a good design program can give me. I’m always searching for information in the web (books here are also expensive) and sometimes, in some forums or WebPages, people have give answers like: you’re not going to achieve more without a gym or personal trainer (Almost like: Give up girl!)
But I feel I can. I know that is part dedication and part willingness but I do feel that I need a guide to take it to the next level. I’m 35 years old, no kids, and I think that THIS IS THE TIME! I don’t want to give up and I DON’T want to end like my cat Fanto:

I was a fat kid who was made fun of but that only fueled me to become the man I am today. For all the hard work dieting and cardio, I have lost a ton of weight and have gained a lot of muscle. I am at 12% body fat but have NEVER been able to see my abs, even at my lowest at 8%. I have tried diets that have dropped my bf% but at the expense of muscle. I would like to try competitive bodybuilding, but never getting those last few lbs off dashed that idea. I think your diet plan will be the perfect fit for me to accomplish this goal. Thanks

Dear Joel, I’m Hafiz from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I’m currently 27 years old and have been struggling to lose my weight. I have tried several training program including personal one-to-one trainer at gym for 10 weeks and only manage to lose about 5 kilos from 118 kilogram to 113 kilogram. Then, I joined another gym program in which a little bit similar to Biggest Loser Program for 3 months and only manage to lose about 8 kilos from 113 to 105 kilogram. After finishing with that program, I’m stuck at a plateau of 105-106 kilograms and it seems going nowhere although I have going to the gym regularly (about 3 times a week). After reading at your updates on the program thru emails and seeing some incredible results posted at your website, it made me realized that there must be some solution to this problem. It would be my wildest dream to be able to walk down a shopping mall and pick any cloth that I want without any fear of sizes available, be able to swim at public pool without feeling ashamed and most importantly, to be able to live longer and healthier. If I got the chance to follow your program, without a doubt that I will follow it whole-heartedly and with determination and passion.

I am a health nut and love working out and eating healthy. However, now in my mid to late 30’s I seem to be having a harder time looking the way I want. My daughter is getting married next month. Beach wedding. I have tried for 2 years to lose weight. BMI is almost 30. I have been on every diet out there plus ones counting carbs, fats, or calories. My doctor says counting calories and exercise is the only thing that will work. I am down to 1400 calories a day for the past 6 months and somehow managed to gain 4 pounds!! Hi I just turned 60 at the end of April and I am agressively enhancing some lifestyle areas. The primary one, that underlies all quality of life issues, is my body conditioning program and its’ associated attitudes. Hi Joel, I’m a 43 year old father of 2 (6 & 8 years old). Work and home life can be very hectic to the point that taking care of yourself takes a back seat to your other responsibilities. I am 5’6″ and weigh 155 lbs. I have weighed 155 most of my life. But my body is definitely not in the same shape as it used to be. My husband and I are in this thing together. We are both 55. In January, he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. And while he’s doing pretty well with that, he’s on some rather powerful medication. He’s always lead a very active life and we don’t want to see that change. I have always been a “chips, chocolate, and a diet coke” fiend. And I got away with it for a long time. But through the years I’ve been on numerous plans to lose weight, which I did, only to gain it back and more. So about two months ago, under the guidance of a chiropractor, we came face to face with truth: Either we continue to eat and live the way we always have and deal with the consequences OR we change our eating and exercising habits and have a much better quality of life. We have six kids ranging in age from 28 down to 13. Our oldest is married and has two beautiful daughters, ages 2 and 1 month. We have a lot of parenting left to do. And a ton of grandparenting. We decided it was time to change. So for the past 7 weeks, we’ve been eating clean. He’s lost 16 lbs. and I’ve lost 13. He doesn’t really need to lose any more weight, I need to lose about 25 lbs. yet. But we really need to incorporate a good workout program. Recently ending full time employment at 63 produces the opportunity and the need to redefine myself. While remaining physically active, time and lifestyle have added 25 pounds and lessened conditioning during my career years. Regaining stamina to contribute to others, well being to be there for family , and strength for active pursuits are tops on my list.

I am 55 years old, mother of 7 grandmother of 5, and all but one of them live with me due to health issues. Two of my youngest are autistic. I need strength and a healthy body to get through the days. Joel, You’ve tested this program on people that are modivated for professional reasons. Now test it on someone who is modivated that she has a life after 60. I was injured in my early 20’s (partial discectomy L4-L5) and then on a put on a long term course of steroids for a medical condition in my early 30’s. The steroids helped me gain over 75 pounds. I’ve always been encouraged to stay active. Now that I’m in my mid-40’s I still have most of that 75 pounds on my frame. I’ve yo-yo’d with another 25 pounds which I’ve finally managed to take off last year and keep it off. However, my doctor has told me the steroid has destroyed my metabolism and quit trying. I refuse to believe this. I’ve read all your e-mails and am excited about the upcoming program. I know it can help me. I’ve been making changes in every part of my life.
