just to keep myself fit!!

Hi, Joe & Arnel.
I’m 62 years old. I’ve been working out and eating right for about 18 months and my scale shows I’m 55 pounds lighter than when I started. Also, I’m a lot more muscular and have more stamina– which brings me to the 1000 Calorie Challenge. When I started on my body transformation, there was no way I could handle the intensity in the Challenge. Now I’m ready! Thanks for challenging us.
Be well,
Bill

(This may be a duplicate, since the website timed me out twice and gave a “posting too quickly” message twice and then said my comment was a duplicate, even though I can’t find my comment when I read the other entries.)

I am turning 41 years old in a few days and as recently as this past February I was about 220 lbs. and clinically obese with a BMI over 30. I began exercising and eating better, and decided to up the ante when I discovered Joel Marion’s XFLD program. I have done two full 25 day rounds of XFLD with a bit of Craig Ballantyne’s turbulence training thrown in between for good measure. As of today I am 189 lbs., way more functionally fit, and chomping at the bit to get the 1000 calorie challenge program so I can raise my game even higher. I must say that when the 600 calorie sample workout came out on 10/5 for free download, it took me 3 separate workout sessions before I was finally able to complete the entire 600 calorie routine as it is laid out, and I have to confess I did not complete it without taking some significantly longer rest periods than prescribed. I have a very good appreciation of how challenging these workouts are, and I am almost afraid to see what the 800 calorie and 1000 calorie workout routines are going to entail. My goal is to push myself as hard as it takes with proper diet and exercise progression until I am able to reach 11% bodyfat and see my abs for the first time in my adult life. I know this program is going to be a crucial key in helping me get there.

Hey Joel and Arnel. I’ve been folowing arnels videos on youtube for about a year now. I’ve always tried to eat good, but never could quite get those last couple lbs even doing all the excercising that I do. I am getting Married the middle of next year, and by the time I get married, I would like to be in the BEST shape of my life. Not the best reason, but it’s my reason. thanks and have a great day.

I am 37. My husband and I have 9 children. I am a maternity nurse. I have spent 17 years putting the needs of others first. In January I resolved to put my health first. I have lost 45 pounds. I feel amazing but unfortunately I’m still considered overweight at 5’ 4” and 155 pounds. I have set a goal to be 130 lbs by 2011. I am completing the P90X videos. I feel stronger than ever but have hit a plateau with the weight loss. The 1000 calorie challenge will push me to the next level, beyond my comfort zone. I love that your program is not a quick fix. Results will only come with HARD work, dedication and sacrifice. That is the example I want to set for my family. I will share this program with my 17 year old son. He is 6’ and just 2 years ago he weighed 245. He began to work out for the first time with his gym class. He also started to play lacrosse. He is now 195 lbs. He plans to join the Marine Corp after graduation. This program will help prepare him for the physical demands of the military. I am grateful for the time and effort you have put into developing a program like the 1000 calorie challenge. I look forward to the opportunity to put it to the test!

I am 39 and rededicating myself to volleyball, with a long range goal of making the senior Olympic team. I do a good job of putting on the muscle I need, but I’ve never been able to keep the muscle mass and stay below 12% body fat, which is really hard on my knees with all the landings in volleyball. Your program looks like the perfect solution for me.
Additionally, my wife has lost about 40 pounds doinf Weightwatchers, and she thinks continuing the program is the only way for her to keep the weight off. Unfortuantely, on such a restrictive diet, she is losing a lot of muscle while losing the fat. I think you program would be an excellent way to regain her muscle and incinerate fat.
Thank you for getting this awesome program out there!

I need all the help I can get. I am a fat 60 year old man.

I’m 25 and I’ve never had self-esteem or confidence. I’ve never been happy with my body. I want a body I can be proud of for once. I also plan on having children, so it would be nice if they could have a mother that was a positive role model. If I’m in shape, it will be easier for them to be healthy and never have to experience what I have. I also want to gain strength so that I can be more efficient at the job that I want. I know this program can get me where I need to be. Thanks!

I will be 65 years old in two weeks. I’ve been struggling with my weight since childhood–gain, lose-gain, lose. Sometimes I’d keep it off for a few years, but it always came back. Same with exercise. I’d exercise for a few years, get really bored with it and stop. I’m ready to change all that for the last time. I don’t think I’ll get many more chances. At my age it’s really, really hard to shed the weight with the conventional exercise plans. I’m changing my diet and I need an exercise plan that’s really serious, not to mention effective. Your plan sound fabulous! I want it.

I am interested for myself and for my husband as well. We are both overweight and I want to be fit and healthy and show my daughter how important it is to have a healthy mind in a healthy body.

My husband has fibromyalgia. He is in a lot of pain and also has a lot of fatigue. The treadmill in our bedroom sits there unused because his knees hurt too badly to do it. But I think strength training will suit him really well and help him get better.

Greetings Joel!

As with most people I am very busy, always seem to be on the go. I am interested in a program that will work with my busy schedule! I just love what have read about this program! I have about 30 lbs to lose and hopefully you will pick me cause I will look amazing and feel great about myself if I lose the weight :) Thank you for your consideration!

Several times each day I think about my weight and the need to actually turn my thinking into progress. Until this program landed in my in box I was at a loss as to where to begin when I’m severely out of shape and at least 30 pounds overweight. I want my clothes to fit correctly, I want to stop hiding in the back of group photographs, and I want to feel confident and secure. Most of all I want to spend more years with my grandchildren than I will if I stay on my current course. I am turning 50 years old next August and would like that milestone to be met with Wow, you’re 50?! Instead of you’re only 50?! This program appears to be straight forward and feasible for me and my terrible physical condition. I know something has to be done and I thank you for the opportunity!

Hi Joel, I’m 43 and recently divorced. I make no excuses about the fact that I just got lazy and let my body get out of shape. Now I am ready to move on and get myself back in shape before my 44th birthday this coming January. I down loaded Arnel’s and your free ebook already and started utilizing the 1,000 calorie principles and got some good results. My energy levels have also increased. This program is what I want to get my fat body back to lean and healthy.

Throughout my life I have always been extremely active and physical fitness has been extremely important to me. But for the past 6+ years I have been working a very challenging and physically exhausting job that keeps me working 12-14 hours a day 7 days a week for months at a time in a war zone. With such a demanding schedule, there simply aren’t enough hours in my day to make it to the gym 5 days a week for a traditional workout. That coupled with the fact that my diet is limited to what they serve in our base dining facility has led to my packing on a few extra pounds that I would like to say goodbye to. I recognize that the only way to accomplish more in less time is to crank up the intensity but what I lack is the knowledge and guidance on the most effective way to go about accomplishing my goals. If this program really works, the benefits would be absolutely life altering. Unfortunately I know that there are many other people who are in my situation where for whatever reason they need a more efficient way to achieve their goals because of time constraints. Could this program be what we all have been looking for? I would like very much to give it a try and see if all of the hype and emails are worth paying attention to.

I’m tired of being one of those guys who looks like they have abs or are really thin when they are wearing a t-shirt or something but then underneath I don’t instead having a little round stomach. I have been training and exercising for at least a year now but i still haven’t seen the results I’d expected to see upon starting. I’m tired of having to starve myself, not being able to eat food i really want and then going to the gym with little or no motivation. This is why I think this programme is excellent for me as it would help me lose that last bit of stubborn fat.

I need this program so much!I am student and I am having problem with my weight.I am sitting too much. And in school when we go to GYM , I don’t what to do to get rid of my belly fat.I am feeling bad about my body.My psyhic is “lower” , and I am thinking about my body whole day,I can’t focus :[
It would mean a world to me.To get back in shape, and to continue with good marks.I am afraid that I could stay like this for a long time.I would send you my results, pre and post pics.
Please help me out!

Yesterday at breakfast my 5 year old son was amazed at how fat my stomach was. Help! I’m a 36 year old cook. I’ve been working out and dieting since I was 18 and just never been able to make a huge difference. I feel like there’s no hope for me and that I’m going to pass those chubby ways onto my 2 kids.

I am a 58 year old mother of three who has lost 40 pounds and am trying to lose those last few pounds. My 40th high school reunion is coming up and I would love to use your program to get into the best shape of my life for it. I work long hours at a nonprofit so the idea of training in less time really appeals to me. It would be great to get in shape so I could keep up with my son who is a Marine!

This program sounds so amazing! I currently would have to workout for several hours to burn 1000 calories (trust me I’ve done it a few times), so to learn how to get that calorie burn in less than an hour blows me away! I have struggled with losing weight and am looking for a healthy way to turn my body from blubber to smoking hot! This program looks like the key! I am in my early 30’s and feel like I have the metabolism of an 60 year old. I’ve tried every diet and every infomercial workout program with little success along the way. I really NEED something that can give me actual results so I have the motivation to stick with it and feel good. This program is perfect because I will see my work paying off every time I hit 1000 calories, and with that kind of deficit, who won’t see results?

The reasons this program is the perfect, absolutely necessary program for me at this point in my life (middle age male) are:
1. To become healthy again–to get off high BP and lipid drugs–so I can continue to help others with their health (I’m a pediatric physician now heavily involved in clinical trials). By doing the program myself, I can credibly convince others.
2. To help patients with fat loss in health (and disease)
3. To help friends and family improve their own health. Because of my position in the community and unique abilities, I can influence others, but need the data-based facts to continue to do so. There are many misconceptions out there.
4. To convince the skeptic within me and other medical professionals that our notions of weight loss are mostly not evidence-based.
5. At this point in life, I have the need to exert influence at the societal level based on what I’ve learned in life; and to teach others. And obesity is a huge public health issue.
I look forward to using your program myself and critically evaluating it from a medical perspective, where disease enters the picture.

I am in the US Army and even though we do (usually) physical fitness training or PT 4-5 days a week I am finding that as I grow older (40+) it gets harder to keep the weight off. I am in a mostly office type job which sometimes prevents me from doing organized PT. And oragnized PT only helps you stay where you are right now, not improve. I have been looking for a system or plan that will help me lose weight and keep fit and yours sounds like it will defintely do the job.

Hi, I’m 54 years old, and have COPD. I need to build muscles fast, because muscles use more oxygen and my body and my lungs need more oxygen. I have been working with weights and I haven’t seen much growth, a little, yes, but not what I need. My pulmonologist even told me that maybe I should start taking steroids, which after reading the side effects, i said NO).
So I need muscles for having a better quality of life and also for having more years to live. I love life and I love doing active things, and I don’t want not being want to be unable to them. I have 3 kids, and I really want to see them grow, and be there.
Thank you very much,
Eti

I have been trying to lose this weight I ended up getting 4 year ago
tryed everthing
and I beleve ur will help me lose and tone up major trouble spots
I thank you for all your information

I am a muscular woman, 54 years of age, though folks say I look about 10 years younger. I am a mother of 5 grown children. I am basically fit, but I know I could get into better shape. I stretch, ride a bike and do resistance exercises on a regular basis. I am a cook and eat very healthy foods. I want a challenge to get my body to a place where I can burn the lingering fat and finish toning muscle. The next place for me is to really step up the pace of my routines and see some dramatic results. I believe that this program is the challenge I need to see those results. I really enjoy the emails and info. Keep up the good work.

I’m 28 and so out of shape it’s depressing. Just over a year ago I sustained a bad knee injury and had surgery. Recovery was long and hard. During my recovery I was forced to sit down, (something I find hard to do) and had to eat more because of all the pain medication I was on. I must’ve gained 20lbs. I hate being seen in public, hate shopping, and I refuse to have my picture taken. Now that I’m ready to go back to work I need to loose weight fast. This is urgent because I work 12hr shifts and will have very little spare time.

I feel this program will be perfect for me because I can work smarter, not harder and loose the weight. I’ve been eating right for months but have lost very little weight obviously because I need to exercise. I’m so lost at gyms since I’ve never used them. I usually train in boxing and jiu jitsu and I’d like to get back to that beautiful toned body I’m used to. But my Dr. forbids any contact sports for now so I think this program will work for me.
