After spending most of my adult life scrambling to get ahead, when I approached my 50th birthday just over five years ago I realized that I was living a sedentary lifestyle. To deal with job pressures and life stresses, I hired a personal trainer and began lifting weights for the first time in my life. Despite hiring the personal trainer, joining a gym, buying most every fitness magazine out there and signing up for countless email subscriptions that clog my inbox, I learned that I couldn’t “cheat” myself strong. And now that I am in the best shape of my life, one look at my gut tells me I cannot lie and “cheat” my way thin! I believe that your new program may help me tackle the last obstacle remaining in my fitness transformation…so please, Joel, HELP me help myself, clean up my poor eating habits and achieve my dream physique!
I’m going to make this post extremely quick and easy.

I have been in martial arts training for two years. I have been improving my diet for the past year. You ask why I need access to this information, and why I think it would be perfect for me right now–it is because I firmly believe that food is one of the fundamental joys in life. It is not the enemy! With my diet and exercise I have lost weight, and let me say I have never turned down a piece of cake or a slice of pizza when the occasion demanded. At this point, however, my progress has stalled, and I think your program has the keys for me to finish what I started. In short, I need to know when and how to “cheat,” and I think you have that information.
Thank you.
Morale among our troops is down; many soldiers lack emotional support as they defend our country. What does this have to do with Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition? Plenty.
I am losing weight for 1 reason: to become a military chaplain in order to serve our troops. In January 2009, I weighed 230 lbs. As of today, I am 30 lbs lighter but have hit a brick wall. Try as I might, I cannot push past the 200 lb mark. Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition is the perfect solution to shake up my body in order to lose this last little bit of weight. By losing 10 to 15 lbs over the holidays, I will be able a healthier man; I will comply with the military’s weight guidelines; and, most importantly, I will be there for our soldiers who risk their lives for us.
Thank you,
David Smith
I’m a middle age woman. I have been diagnosed with high blood pressure because of my weight. I have tried every diet I can think of and nothing has ever worked for me. I eat a lot of vegetables thinking that it would make a difference in my weight but it never does. Don’t get me wrong, I do eat ice cream and cake but who doesn’t. I don’t think that’s enough to cause my weight to increase has much as it do. I also exercise on a weekly and it still doesn’t change anything in my weight. The weight would fluctuate, lose then gain, and sometimes, just gain. Also, I drink a lot of water. I want to loose weight to feel better about myself and to increase the level of my self-esteem.
So, I’m hoping that I win a copy of CHEAT YOUR WAY THIN HOLIDAY EDITION.
Joel,
Eating salad and veggies and seeing no weight loss was really getting me down. I’m so relieved to know it isn’t just me! Thanks so much for you emails, they really give me hope that I can eat the way my body wants and still lose weight and be healthy. Now that I am older, trying to get my weight in line has been even harder. I can’t believe how actually eating more one day, I lost weight when I checked the next day. I think your plan sounds great!

Hi Joel !!! What can I say…you have definitely caught my interest. About 3 years ago I decided enough was enough !!! I was tired of getting up in the morning and hating what I saw in the mirror. I was so disgusted with myself and needless to say had awful self-esteem (little to none). I decided that this was no way to live life and made a conscious decision to change this for the better. Since then I have lost 50 lbs. While I am in much better shape than I was, I am looking to lose that last stubborn 20 lbs of fat and expose those abs. I know its not gonna happen without hard work, but I am ready !!!! I am already very conscious of what I eat. I try to be a good girl and get lots of veggies, lean protein, fruit and whole grains. But let’s face it, temptation is difficult to avoid and life isn’t worth living if u can’t enjoy food !!!! Its one of life’s simple pleasures !!!!! So….. I would love a copy of “Cheat your Way Thin” so I can use all that valuable info and kick that last 20 lbs of body fat to the curb !!! Should I also mention that I am worried about holiday parties getting in the way of my weight loss strategy ?? You have provided your readers with some excellent tips in your “Little Black Book”. I am very anxious to see what the rest of the “Cheat Your Way Thin” plan has to offer !!!!!!

hi there. lets see.. i’ve been overweight all my life. been a yo-yo dieter also. i’ve lost a lot of weight but gained it back.. sound familiar??? i am 54 years old and want to spend the rest of my life being healthy and fit, despite being a type 1 diabetic. the science behind the program makes so much sense. i am such an sponge for knowledge in the nutrition and fitness field. i have lost 36 pounds through hard work. i would like to continue using a tried and true plan..
At age 54, Father Time sits on my face like a two-ton hippo. With horror and repulsion, yesterday I gazed upon my physique on a full-length mirror at a department store: it was as though a family of raccoons had established permanent residence in my abdomen. Once upon a time I ran marathons, but now, at 240 pounds, I huff and puff while wheezing up stairs, as my two middle-school children scratch their heads and wonder if their father can throw them a football. Because I’ve been bamboozled by so many other dietary panaceas, I’m timid and tremulous to follow your land-of-milk-and-honey promises, Joel: if your system were to work, however, I would love to trumpet and blazon its merits to the world. How I crave, more than anything, to engage in the rough-and-tumble antics of adolescent boys, but increasingly I’ve been sidling to the sidelines, as though I’m walking across a highwire in high heels. So, Joel, I would love to partake in your program, reinvent and reinvigorate my life, and yodel to the world about the glories of your system.
Hi Joel, I love your site and have been impressed with the articles and especially the science around your process – not more of the empty promises of some offerings. I’ve been ignoring some health issues for a few years that are being aggravated by extra weight – 100+ lbs extra! It’s reached a point where I decided to address them head on. With some other family health issues going on as well, I’ve quit my job and am taking a year sabbatical to assist them (and myself) gain better overall health. I’d love to be able to focus less on the process and just get to a stable, sustainable weight.
Thanks for all your team provides on the site ~ and the chance to win the program and gain the tools for lifelong success!
Hell ;P lease!!! Joel I NEED this! I’m a 53yo an regardless of all the advice I get “for a man of my age…”(I hate that sh*!) I feel I could be doing so much more. Let’s put it this way I have been active all my life got 6 kids…. (married twice, now single – widowed) I have a hereditary heart condition which means for a while (when I was just turned 40) I did nothing…. now I want to take the proverbial “bull by the horns” and become a fulfilled, active and happy fella again!!…. so wot do you think???? Cracking site, mails, vids, tips etc., etc., keep it coming!
regards
David (Staffordshire UK)
Where to begin? I’d have to say that for most of my life I had things pretty easy. e.g. I never really had a problem with my weight, I was fairly athletic. I never had any difficulty when it came to grades, and the same as far as friends and money were concerned. Until about 16 years ago when everything started to turn for the worse. This is about the time I had my second child. My spouse and I moved around a fair bit, to other provinces, away from family and friends. He also worked ALL the time, and at the same time continuing his education. I quit University to finish putting him through school and then raise a family. Anyway, about 16 years ago I started slipping into a state of depression when my daughter was born with health problems and I had to deal with it all on my own, along with a two year old. Then matters just continued to get worse. My son ended up getting diagnosed with major disorders also at the age of 8 and after we did another major move, which caused me to fall into further depression. I ended up being ordered off work by my doctor 11 years ago and have been off on long-term disability ever since. My weight has been like a yo-yo ever since as well. Sometimes from medication and other times just from my moods. I have been at a steady weight now for the past 3 years and just can’t seem to break it. My husband was nearly killed in a major accident 7 years ago which was devastating on the entire family, but mostly on his pride I think. In turn it just caused him to become more abusive towards me. So I went through a messy separation 2 and 1/2 years ago and it still isn’t settled yet. I have done a major amount of work on me in the last few years and people have really noticed it, but I would be so grateful if I could look into a mirror and also see it on the outside as well as feel it on the inside. I am going away to Thailand in January 2010 to volunteer to work with the Burmese orphans and refugees, as this has always been a passion of mine. I would love to be in better shape and fit when I’m there.
Help!!!!!!
I’M SKEPTICAL!! SENSIBLE DIET ALWAYS WORKED FOR ME ALTHOUGH IT TAKES A WHILE TO GET OFF THE WEIGHT. I HAVE ABOUT 15 LB TO LOOSE, HOPE YOU CAN PROVE IT TO ME WITH THIS PROGRAM THAT EATING AND LOOSING IS POSSIBLE…I DON’T SEE MYSELF EATING PIZZA AND PASTA AND LOOSING WEIGHT. HOPE YOU ARE RIGHT!
I have been working out pretty religiously for a little more than a year now and have seen some results. I still haven’t seen the results I would like though. I’ll continue to exercise, but maybe what I need is a new workout routine or just a new way to approach getting my desired results. I love to exercise, but I also love to eat. Maybe that’s the reason I’m not seeing the results I’m aiming for.
Hi there.
I am iterested in your” cheat ” program as I feel overweight. And look it.
I try not to eat too much but bottom line ,I’m a pig I dont eat a big breakfast or lunch, but watch out supper!. Then ,of course there are the before bed treats.
I have a treadmill that is almost worn out from use.I have a bowflex that gets a workout of 3 times a week I think I get enough excersize but the problem is the food. I probably dont make the best choices. I diet for a while, then go crazy for all the wrong stuff.
I was also diagnosed with A-Fib so I tire out a lot faster than I used to. I am hesitant about lifting real heavy weights as a few years ago I has a retinal detachment and now am blind in one eye( hence the e-mail address.
So I think that I could benefit from your “cheat ” program, if I know I can be rewarded once in a while. Maybe I can stop :pigging out: all the time
Thanks
Wayne
Joel,
I think this program would be a great next step for me. I have lost 80 lbs in the last 2 years and am working on getting the last 20-30 lbs. I have hit a plateau and am hoping to jumpstart the last portion of my journey. I workout hard and am training for a marathon and train in olympic weightlifting. I just need a program like this to help me get back on track.
Thanks!
Kelly
I m working out like anything, right now on Bill starr strength training program, seems it sis working for me but still want to reduce my belly fat which seems stubborn enough to shed off.
What I have read about your “diet” seems to make sense. I know I have tried restricting calories to only 400 and I gain weight so I know it is not all about calorie restriction. I have dealt with dumping syndrome for 28 years and only eat extremely low fat to help that problem. I have not drunk soda in 10 years. Even with all these changes I still weigh 250 pounds. I guess I have been starving myself for years and I hit rock bottom 18 months ago when I was almost dead from lack of iron. As I slowly built up iron stores, my body started dropping pounds. When I got back to the barely normal stage my doctor said to not be regimented in supplementing iron. I have not changed my eating habits and generally consume 1500 calories a day. However my iron has dipped below normal again and the weight is creeping on again. I am positive that there is a connection and that losing weight is not about just eating less calories. That is why I would really like to read your “diet” strategy and see how it can make a difference in my life. I have never fallen for the fad diet trap but have always maintained you should eat healthy. Unfortunately that has not led to weight loss. Thank you for the opportunity to try your method.
Happy Thanksgiving Joel,
I have been giving thanks every day since October 4,2007. That day I drove myself to the hospital and suffered the widow maker heart attack. I weighed 289 pounds and my body had had enough. Due to the skill of my cardiologist and my will to live, I survived. To date I have lost 90 pounds and I am healthier than I have ever been. I work out 5 days a week and eat a diet of healthy foods. Here is why your program excites me. I want to lose that stubborn 10 pounds to make my weight loss 100 pounds. At 6’1″ that would get me to 189 as a goal weight. Your program seems like the perfect way to achieve my life saving goal. Give me the chance and I will succeed and tell everyone your program is how I did it! WOW, I have not had a pizza in two years, that is reason enough to select me for your program!
Hi Joel! I REALLY want to try your Cheat Your Way Thin program!!!! I have lost all but the last few pounds but I’M STUCK! I eat pretty well a lot of the time but with two high school kids and all of their activities as well as working full time with junior high kids my life is crazy busy. I am OFTEN tempted to get off track. I would love to learn how to allow myself to cheat in a controlled way. I’ve learned a lot from you just through your emails/website. Thanks for that!!1 Please help!! Thanks for considering me:)
Just wanted to say that this ‘diet’ looks extremely interesting. I’ve tried so many diets, supplements, etc over the years and nothing has really proven to me a way to keep it all off once I lose it! I’m hoping that this is the right plan for me. I don’t need to lose alot, but just tone up a bit. I recently had a bit of a scare health wise and my doctor suggested losing that 15 pounds would help me. I’m generally in good health, but need a way to be able to eat some of the foods I love – I now eat Veggie Chips instead of potato chips and I must say I find them better.
Hopefully with the plan and knowledge that you have worked hard to provide us, I’ll be able to cheat a day or a snack time and still see the results I want.
Hi,
I need this because i’ve been tryin to six packs for like the last 2 years, and haven’t been very successful at it, specially by not being able to resist the temptation of eating stuff that will prevent me from reachin my goals even though i thought i could eat watever i feel like, and later on exercise to lose that fat, but even though i exercise and everything i still wasn’t able to get my body fat low enough to see my abs, i’m bascially givin up on it now. That’s why If i can find a way to reach my goal i’ll be very happy, and i think this program can help get those abs.
Hi Joel,
I am a morbidly obese 58 years old woman who has tried every diet on the planet. I am currently on a program called Thin & Healthy but have not been able to shed any weight, probably because I haven’t been able to follow the diet precisely. I have osteoarthritis in my knees and lymphedema in my lower legs both which make it very hard to exercise. I am also on 8 different medications for high blood pressure, cholestrol and many other medical problems. Part of my problem is that I am insulin resistant so everything I eat turns into sugar then fat. I have read your updates and feel that this might actually work because I would be able to cheat at least 1 day a week. I’m afraid that if I don’t do something soon and succeed I may be this way for the rest of my life and I would really like to be around so I can play with my grandkids. I find your articles really informative and your plan something I can do.
Hey Joel,
I’m a 30 yr old woman and since my early 20’s my weight has been cycling up and down like a yo-yo! My weight has peaked at around 230 lbs, but for the last few years its been hovering between 170-190…I am about 185 lbs. at the moment. I’m pretty active outdoors and I work out at least 4x/weekly (sometimes even with a trainer) but I still haven’t been able to blast through this 170 lb. plateau, and I get discouraged and usually end up gain most of the weight back…. I do admit most of my problem is a weakness for sweets, so if there is a system that works to “get away” with enjoying them on occasion without the guilt, I’m aboard! I am also in school to be a Nurse Practictioner, and as such, I would really like to one day be a representation of ideal physical health. Also, being in grad school and working makes my schedule really crazier than its ever been, and having an already done for me plan would be spectacular! The “icing on the cake” if you will…
