Hi Joel. This past year has been crazy for me emotionally since I just found out that I was pre-diabetic. Losing weight has been really hard for me since reducing calories means lowering my sugar levels, then when I cheat ( I have a horrible sweet tooth) it soars sky high! Its as if cheating is actually killing me and I feel horrible. And if leptin levels are closely linked to carbs as you say, then stabilizing leptin means stabilizing carbs. This would mean a great way for me to lose weight, stay healthy, keep the disease at bay, and not feel horrible about myself when I do cheat. Heres to everyones health! -Veronica

I am 51 yrs. old 5’10” tall, weigh 170 lbs. I have lost 70 lbs. of fat two yrs. ago, joined a gym and have added 45 lbs. of muscle to get to 170 lbs. With wheight training, cardio, and a five small meal, high protein, complex carbohydrate diet, still I am 19% body fat. My body just doesn’t want to give up any more fat, Your cheat your way thin diet system sounds like it may be just the right thing to fool my body into giving up the fat I need to get rid of to get ripped. I am happy with the lifestyle changes I’ve made, but I am not where I want to be yet.
Thank you for your consideration for one of the five give away copies of your
cheat your way thin holoiday edition. I’m from a suburb of Detroit got laid off from my job and could’t afford to purchase a copy right now.
Happy Holidays!
ARE YOU REALLY GOING TO READ ALL OF THESE POSTS? ……
I have tried for so many years and can’t understand why the fat won’t go away. I have been going to the gym for more than 10 years and while I definitely feel fitter, it’s not translating to my waist line being slimmer. I figure since I cheat anyway, this program would be great because it is authorised and would alleviate the sense of guilt that comes with breaking a diet. This is party season and there’s going to be lots of food around, I need some motivation to keep me on track. I have some workmates who would benefit from this and if it works for me then I would encourage them to try your system. I’d like to go to the beach wearing a bikini confidently instead of hiding under a T-Shirt. I’d like to sit on a chair without my belly sitting in my lap. I’d like to buy a dress off the rack instead of buying one that hides the bulges and I’d really like to fit into that $80 size 5 black jeans I bought more than 5 years ago and that I’ve never worn. I fact I wish it was too big for me. I’m not ready to give up and I want the hot sexy body I know is under this skin to come out. Plus if it works for me by boyfriend will want to try it and I’m been trying to encourage him to workout for a long time. I hope I’m one of your winners and that in a few weeks from now you can use my story to motivate others who are seeking the same solution I am right now…… getting rid of fat.
Hello, I’m a senior college student studying abroad in Japan right now, and since coming to Japan my good eating habits have gone down the drain. There is just too much good, exotic food to try. However, I am going home to the states just before Christmas and I keep telling myself, “Girl, wouldn’t it be great to shed a couple pounds and wow the family when they pick you up at the airport?” Yes it would, but I’ve been struggling. I need to find a balance and since stress is partly the reason I’ve been having so much trouble, I’m hoping the Cheat Your Way Thin Plan can help me lose weight and feel better about myself, all while being able to treat myself without feeling the extra guilt. I don’t want to leave Japan feeling fat and ugly, I want to leave Japan looking and feeling great for the experience. Thank you and looking forward to your next update!
Hi Joel – I would love to win one of the Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition systems. I am 55 years old and have stuggled with my weight most of my life. Everytime I try to start a diet, it seems like there is some type of holiday or event that causes me to “fall off” my diet. This plan looks like you can schedule around these events, so it looks like this plan would handle one of my main reasons why I fail on my diets. Planning a day to cheat also seems like a great motivator! I also have an underactive thyroid, so I understand that hormones really affect your body and how you feel. I am also interested in learning how to control my leptin levels to help increase my metabolism.
Carbs are my comfort foods, so planning on strategic carbo-loading sounds like something that would really fit my lifestyle. I have tried many other diets, some successful, some not. Unfortunately, when I went back to eating my favorites – like cereal, pasta, bread – all my favorite carbs, my weight came back very easy. Unfortunately, I felt fatter and was flabbier. This plan looks like a “diet” that really will work as a lifestyle change. I am hoping to improve my health, look great and enjoy spending time with my grandchildren.
This food system seems logical and is very appealing I have a gut instinct (which is very relevant!), that after reading your research and the harnessing of your knowledge on the super important hormone leptin that this will work. I have seen the proof 48 times over and then some. We all can expect through the use of strategic carbohydrate cycling throughout the week in order to safeguard against falls in leptin and other fat burning hormones to maintain high levels of leptin day in and day out. The versatility incorporated in the programme would be a major factor in my ability to stick with it. The idea of cheat days is exciting and rewarding. (Yoo Hoo). The reassurance of knowing that a cheat day is just around the corner is luxurious to me. Yes I can do this! The use of the body’s own mechanism is biblical in its implication, a revelation to all, with the capacity to free me and whoever else from lifelong dieting failures and the resulting blow to mental and physical wellbeing. I have been on a diet since I was 16 I am now 57. The thought of a carbohydrate cycling and planned cheat days, of eating what I want is more than scientific it is magical. It is time to stop failing and live
I have tried several different programs and the muscle confusion workout is by far the best. I have severe arthritis in my shoulders and right knee and pushing myself is sometimes very difficult. Two years ago I had 60% of my meniscus removed in my right knee and had a torn cartilage in my left shoulder repaired. So I have concluded, being 41, my athletics days of competition are done but my appetite hasn’t changed. My weight has dropped from 285 to currently 250 and I have maintained it for over 2 months. I have another 15 to 20 lbs to drop before I feel comfortable with my weight. I am stronger then when I started, which was 2 years ago after the last surgery. What I need now is a mastery of diet to further my success:)
I am going to turn 50 in 6 months; my goal is to be at a healthy weight by that time. I can only do limited cardio due to a heart condition so I need to start working on the other health factor – my diet! I have tried many diets/programs/pills in the past and lose only to gain back weight. I know I need a life change; but I need to find one that works for me. The information I have received on your system seems to fit that. I am excited about getting healthy and passing that on to my children and my new grandchild. I want to be here to help celebrate special times and holidays with them. After heart failure and a mini stroke; I realize how important and necessary it is to be at a healthy weight to be able to live a full, fun life. Although being healthy is my number one priority; to be truthful, shopping for smaller, more stylish clothes would be an added perk. I truly want to be able to inspire my children, who may have picked up on my unhealthy life, to see that it is truly possible to get healthy and stay healthy.
Hi Joel.
As a person who has always carried excess weight and had no idea on how to get rid of it reading your information on the web has been an eye opener. I am now in my forties and for over twenty years I have been trying all sorts of weird and wonderful diets to try and drop weight. I have no ambition to have the six pack abs or anything like that, just get into a healthy weight range. Over the last six years I have reduced my weight from 320 lbs to 210 lbs with a combination of low fat dieting, low carb and exercise. While the loss is good I just can’t seem to make the breakthrough to the healthy weight range.
I can see the potential in your program. It makes a lot of sense. Not being too involved with the science and technicalities of the human body and weight loss
this program looks to be easy to follow and understand. I look forward to giving it a go.
Hi Joel,
I used to be an aerobic instructor many years ago. Jobs and family life demands have taken a lot out of me and I somehow lost my focus. I have been steadily putting on weight (over 70 pounds now) and at 48, I feel that there is not much time left that I will be able to lose weight easily and safely. I have tried so many different diets and exercise programs but just can’t make any of them work. I hate the fact that I somehow lost the ability to motivate myself and I feel sometimes like I just “gave” up. The worst of it is that my daughter who is 18 years old is also overweight. Although I have tried to teach her the importance of eating well and exercising daily, I am having a really hard time making her understand and quite frankly, I feel a bit like a hypocrite, being overweight myself and not able to get back into a routine. It worries me that if she continues to gain weight and remains overweight, she will develop diabetes. Losing weight would build up her self esteem and get her to understand how crucial it is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is why I think that your program would really benefit us both. I know it is the right program and I believe that my daughter will like it too.
Thank you.
I’m so done with dieting. I have had a weight issue since I was about 4, and was given a tonic to gain weight because I was so skinny from being sick. It worked.
I’ve had weight issues ever since, I’ve lost over a 100 lbs several times but it has always come back. Part of the issue is that when I’ve lost weight I’ve had to exercise 4 to 5 hours a day as well as diet. I couldn’t maintain that and I can no longer do that. I have all kinds of health issues now which the weight compounds, thyroid which I’ve had for years, heart disease (I had an MI about 5 years ago), diabetes controlled only by diet, high blood pressure, depression, I feel tired. I’ve worked with hospital dieticians and only eat about 1350 calories a day. They are not empty calories, good calories, fruit, vegies, protien, organic whey protein drinks, small amounts of grains, butter, olive oil. My biggest weakness is ice cream, but not often for years now. I’ve had a hip and both knees replaced and can’t work out at the gym anymore, swimming has become too hard to climb out of the pool, I can only use the recumbant bike. But frankly, I’ve given up lately. I’ve fought too hard too long for rotten results. Can you help me?
All of my life I’ve had a belly, wide hips and manly thighs and now I have actually set my mind to do what I have to to be healthy.I have been working out with my Jillian work out and I have fasted for 2 wks from anything white and wheat.I have been taking supplements like vitamin b complex and xango etc.But I need to know when to eat and what are the right foods for me to eat and at what times to eat.I have prayed to God to keep the desire in me to do this for myself and its been working for the last 3wks and still going.I don’t crave junks like I used to and I enjoy my salads but I need more info on the right time to eat and what to eat.Whatever you teach me I can teach the next person.I’ll be walking proof.
Hi Joel,
Like most people that have followed “a diet” I too have shed some weight only to slowly put it back on as I slipped into my previous eating patterns. Diets fail to provide a manageable “life time” blueprint or outline that someone can manage through any unexpected circumstance – friends inviting you out to lunch, getting together for a dinner party, being able to enjoy a tailgate party after your husband finishes playing hockey or just the regular holidays and birthdays that come up.
Your program seems to map out a manageable and doable blueprint where someone can continue to enjoy every day activities while staying in control of their eating by eliminating restricting favourite foods and still being able to lose or maintain desired weight.
I would welcome the opportunity to apply this philosophy to assist me to lose weight and then maintain it without deprivation type diets.
Thanks so much for all your helpful information.
Kris
I have always been” weight conscious” as early as I can remember. This drew me to try many different kinds of weight loss programs. It is no surprise that I joined a weight loss company and have a MLM business doing so. However, at this point in my life, my weight loss efforts are at a standstill. Having reached middle-age the weight is not coming off as easily as it used to when I was younger. Everyday I exercise, take my supplements faithfully, choose healthy foods, and have a nutritious shake for breakfast, but in spite of it all, I am not pleased with my weight loss efforts. Joel, I think what you teach makes sense and your system which is very different from what I am doing now, might do the ” trick” for me. I have been coaching people to lose weight using the same method that I’m presently using, some of them have a similar experience as I have, especially those around my age, so if I can try your method and prove that it works, I’ll be able to give my clients an alternative to what they are doing when they reach that bump in the road like me. I hope that I am able to get your system because I have never used such a system before the way you briefly described it. In fact, I am anxious to prove that it will work for me. Thanks for all your research in this area. Looking forward again to trying it out.
I am over 40 and only have a bit of excess fat to lose but it seems to be an endless battle. I have known in my heart that I eat well and that I should be able to lose the fat but I can’t and I seem always to be on a rollercoaster. I do however have a negative influence, my husband, who knows everything about everything. I would love to have a system that works so i can prove him wrong. The other, the main reason, i want this weight loss program is for my teenage daughter who is about 25 to 30kgs over weight. No matter what she tries nothing works for her and she is getting very depressed. Unfortunately she lives over 2500km from me and she doesn’t have much will power. Without me living with her it seems to be hopeless to help her. I believe with this program i will be able to help her enormously and she will reach her goal weight easily and be able to beat her low self esteem and have the energy to get fit and healthy as well.
Everything that i have read so far makes sense and i can’t wait to get started.
I’m disabled 63 yrs young, diabetic who lost much of my lungs in 2004 from bacteria strains. I continued to gain weight after I was put on insulin till I got over 300lbs. I’m down to 245 but have stalled out, I got myself there by walking and cutting myself back slowly on insulin. I need so badly to get body back into shape, hopefully off all diabetic meds & insulin. In Feb. this year I met up with my very first Love, she also had lost her mate, now we see eachother at least one day a week. I want to spend a long lifetime with my sweetheart, since I have been given a second chance, thank God. I can truely use all your help that you can give me. I can’t run, deplete oxygen to fast but my lungs have greatly improved this year. I thank-you and appreciate the thought that you may have even taken time to read this. Peace & health to you. doc.t
Almost exactly one year ago, i was over weight by 50 pounds, over worked, alcoholic, smoker and over all stressed out. Upon the death of my best friend (a murder) I stove to live my life to the best of my abilities. I started (slowly) working out, eating better (my own take on the primal diet). In december i started to incorporate high intensity interval circuit training by attending Vic Magary’s “Monster” classes here in Columbus Ohio.
Now, due to working 60 hours a week, maintaining a family, taking care of my dying Aunt, going back to school and eventually separation made it difficult but i still persevered despite the road blocks that kept coming up. I am striving to complete my goal by etting in the absolute best shape possible. I am scientifically oriented and having managed a natural foods health store I was delighted to find a movement of people who adhearded a loose theory i was starting to put together (Caveman diet) as i simply deduced that If we are the product of evolution (will not argue religious ideology here) then it made sense to me to pursue the human absolute by figuring out how we as a species evolved and I reasoned that from that we can configure how our dietary habits actually should be.
I admit, the doughnut in the logo threw me at first, but having seen that you are quoting and referencing VALID non-emotionally biased studies kept me intrigued. . (The Saccharrin issue and the health food raw foodist purists and their emotionally driven rather logical arguments come to mind).
anyways ill stop rambling, i am most definitely interested and eager to try your system. Either way, i am completely appreciative of this and I sincerely hope I get the chance to try this out!
I have been on a roller coaster diet/non-diet, exercise/non-exercise cycle for the last year. I have been restricting my carbs and have lost little weight just to get frustrated at the scale and quit. I currently weight 260 pounds and need help. I need a plan that will help me enjoy the food I crave so I will stick to it and get results. I love the way my body feels when I’m exercising and when I have control of my food intake, but when I’m constantly denied the foods I love, I give up. My dad died of colon cancer 4 years ago at a young age and I don’t want to be like him. I don’t want my weight to continually affect my healty and lead to an early death. I am ready to take control of my life. Reading your posts all week about this new idea has gotten me excited that this might just be what I need to get me in the weight loss zone and keep me there without quitting.
I plan to try your diet plan regardless of winning it or not. But I just have to tell you that just reading through your e-mails this past week has already gotten me so encouraged that perhaps I can finally learn a life plan that will work. I’ve tried the low carb diet with great results (lost 30 lbs.) but like you said, it’s almost impossible to stay on this plan the rest of your life! I managed to keep most of the weight off for 2 years after losing it, but I just didn’t feel like I had a healthy eating plan. So much meat, eggs, cheese…and frankly, I was very tired of it. So I’ve pretty much given up, and of course gained back more than the 30 lbs. I’d lost. I’ve just started on the Fat Burning Furnace exercises as well, and need a diet plan to go with it, that I can do for life! Thanks for all the good info!!
A co-worker told me she lost weight and felt better overall by following the Cheat Your Way Thin program. I went to your website to see what it was about and could only signed up for the Holiday Fat Loss Blackbook. Then you sent the email with a discussion of the science behind your program. Being skeptical, I double-checked what you said about leptin and the other hormones. I get it. It’s more than just counting calories or points, and I understand why the deprivation of calories (or of my favorite foods) is not sustainable. I trust that you have done the hard work of figuring out what foods will keep the leptin level optimal for weight loss. I don’t want to have to figure that out; I just want to follow the plan. My goal is to lose my belly fat (which I now understand was acquired with the help of that stress hormone cortisol). I understand the science; I trust you Joel; I believe in your program. I am ready to follow.
So far, the Cheat Your Way Thin program stands out to me as the ideal way to get lean. I remember an email from another fitness/nutrition expert who recommended finding the “diet” or nutrition plan that suits you. I’ve tried a few different ideas, but haven’t found one that I can remain consistent with. Here’s the lowdown(literally): I decide it’s time to get serious about my nutrition, with the idea that I will lean up and such. I start to eat lean protein and fruits/veggies, without much structure to the plan. I’m usually good for a few days, however then out of nowhere an ‘evil craving’ surfaces and kicks those healthy habits to the curb. Often there is no recovery back to the original plan. I end up eating whatever, whenever all the while convincing myself that it won’t effect me, until I hit the scale and realize that I’ve added a few slow-me-down pounds.
Although I don’t know the specifics of the Cheat Your Way Thin program, I like the idea of the Cheat day. As mentioned in the coaching call, if you get the desire to cheat before the Cheat Day arrives, you can fight it easier knowing that in a day or two, you will get the chance to strike that heavenly chord. I’ve never been a cheater, but this is definitely an exception I am willing to make.
Hello Joel. I am a 50 year old mother of four beautiful daughters. I have two grandsons; one is four years old and the other was born yesterday on November 19, 2009. I have been following your advice through receipt of regular emails and now on Facebook for a while now. I am very fitness-oriented having belonged to a gym for the past six years now. When I joined a gym, my two youngest daughters who were still at home at the time joined as well and working out became a family activity. Even before I joined a gym I became highly interested and motivated to devote some of my time and energy to fitness despite the busy lifestyle I was leading as a single Mom working hard to provide for my family. I have always been very interested in nutrition as well and I am constantly looking for ways to improve my eating habits but still have the occasional “treat” and look towards you and other fitness and nutrition mentors for guidance. Your “Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition” program looks like the ideal program to incorporate exactly what I am looking for in terms or providing my body with the required nutrition and still be able to enjoy the “treats” that I am accustomed to such as Shortbread Cookies, Pumpkin Pie, Festive Turkey Stuffing, Holiday Egg Nog and yummy Crab Dip to name a few. I like the fact that your program is based on facts about how the body reacts to fats, carbs and protein intake. You exude a great deal of confidence when you speak about this program which is something that I look for when choosing how to improve my existing fitness and nutrition habits. There was a time when I was about 40 pounds overweight and it took me a while to figure out what worked for me and what did’nt. I lost that extra weight through trial and error and my personal goal now is to be strong, healthy, super-toned, and exceptionally fit which will help me maintain my youthful appearance and superior health in general. I recently began started having symptoms of menopause which is a new challenge in itself. I truly believe that if it were not for my commitment to fitness and good nutrition, I would not be able to reach and/or maintain my personal goals. Your guidance provides me with the tools to help me with my personal goals. The sky is the limit when it comes to setting goals in fitness and I am constantly upgrading them every time I reach whatever I am striving for. I am very excited about your newest program and look forward to its release.
I’ve been trying every diet trick I can think of – low carb or just trying to eat right and exercise with very little results. It has been a challenge for me the past year to exercise since I had injured my knee, so that did not help. I would really love to get back into shape and try not to get discouraged, but I cannot seem to find the right combo that will work for me. In the past, the low carb diet did work, but it isn’t this time around. I am trying to exercise more, but if I could find the right food combo that would work for me it would be awesome. I want to have a more active life and participate in activities with friends. Reading your posts and newletters has me really interested to see if this could be the combo that will work for me. I would sincerely appreciate the chance to try it out.
Since becoming a university student, I have, like many others, gained weight. Like most women, I have tried dieting on more than one occasion in the past, but while sometimes seeing small gains, there were always relapses and little progress overall.
Over the years, through university courses and my own reading, I have come across some of the same principles outlined in your articles. It has always made sense to me that, evolutionarily, if you restrict energy intake, your body will fight back against starvation – hence the binges, decreased energy and concentration (impossible to accept as a student), and stagnating results that I’ve experienced.
Never finding a diet plan that compensated for they body’s natural tendency to defend its weight and allowed flexibility was why I gave up on dieting.
This semester I decided to make some permanent changes in my life, for both physical and emotional reasons, and want to get healthy and fit. Running, spinning and weight training have improved my confidence and energy and I believe that your Cheat Your Way Thin program would be the final piece of puzzle that would allow me to make real changes in my life far beyond 2010’s ‘new years resolutions.’
Hi Joel,
I believe your system is perfect for me, because just applying the tips you’ve given me during these last days, I’ve seen the difference. When I received your first mails was finishing a three week detox diet, a horrible diet that made me miserable and I almost didn’t loose any weight. Out of frustration I cheated the diet and that week I lost 2lbs just like that. So more than just believing in your system, I already know it works, and is a reasonable way to always keep the excess weight off without suffering so much with diets.
