I have often commented to my friends that I should be losing weight just from passing on the candy, desserts, and fried foods. I have tried so many different weight loss plans. The restrictions and guilt from being unable to maintain those restrictions made long-term participation impossible. I don’t have hours and hours every day to research, plan, and implement a weight loss program which eliminates the pleasures of good food and good company. My friends don’t want a list of places I can’t go because I’m on another diet. I need support! Cheat Your Way Thin is a program I can DO. Utilizing your knowledge, having a calendar which includes my favorite foods guilt-free, and actually obtaining results is the program I have been searching for.
I’m going to make this post extremely quick and easy.
To enter to win one of FIVE copies of the Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition that I’m GIVING AWAY today, simply reply in the comments section below this post (reply form is at the bottom of the page) with the following information:
In 250 words or less, I want you to tell me exactly why this program is the perfect program for you at this point in your life. Tell me WHY you NEED access to this information.

Joel,
I am 53 and currently spend most of my time behind a desk. I never had a problem with weight until my 40’s and since it has been a constsnt struggle. I have never found a “diet” that works and have tried many. This past summer I had a family reunion and where I was to see people I hadn’t since I was a teenager. In preparation I worked my butt off, focused all my energy, began yet another diet and lost 25 pounds by the end of July. Guess what? It all came back in four months. I’m motivated and ready to do something that actually works. I think if I succeed I could be a very convincing example for people that are middle aged and find themselves a little rounder than they used to be. Thanks for doing what you’re doing!
I really am not more than five to ten pounds above what I need to weigh, but I have 38% body fat. I work hard (maybe too hard) at eating a healthy diet and getting some exercise every day. At 70 years of age, I want to be able to enjoy food and be as healthy as possible. Your program makes sense to me, and oh how I would love to have cheat days! I would also like to be able to help a very overweight son with his problem.
I’m not sure if this got submitted, please forgive if this is a duplicate.
I am 56 years old. I have lost hundreds of pounds over the last 40 years, I started on Adkins when I was 13 (and I wasn’t even overweight!). Every time I try to loose weight, I end up gaining 5-8 pounds, leaving me frustrated, depressed and very sad. Last night I was packing for my holiday trip home and ended up crying in the middle of the bed for 2 hours. Not a single thing in my closet fit my excpet one old pair of “fat pants”. My weight is affecting my marriage, not because I am fat but because I am so depressed about being fat. I went on a diet many, many years ago that had you alternating caloric counts every 3-4 days, much the same idea of mitigating a diminished metabolism. I am certain, after reading all of your updates and testimonials that this could quite possibly be my last “diet”. I am looking forward to moving forward in the next several months to get rid of this 40 pounds of post-memopausal blubber that surrounds me. Thank you so much for the opportunity…..
Hey Joel!
I think I am the right person for You to choose (in fact, I doubt that You even come to read my post, I’m like the 2000th poster here),
because I really could help a lot of people with Your program.
I am from Austria, but I live in Tajikistan as a missionary since 2006.
The fact that I’m from Austria explains my bad english, sorry for that.
I am working out with a group of tajik boys, and the time has come for some of them (including me) to loose our body fat.
We all agreed to give it a try with Your program, if You would be that nice, to choose us for the free gift.
I would translate it into tajik, and then we’d use it together!
Please help us and choose us!
Thank You and may God bless You richly,
Dominik
Hello Joel, I appreciate the ongoing helps and ideas for how anyone that is interested in improving their health and getting to a healthy body weight can achieve that goal with commitmant. I am aware that we can program our brain for our benefit by continuing to put positive information in it. I see this program as positive so am looking forward to putting into practice. Thankyou for your continued effort, Lynette
I have been seesawing on various diets most of my adult life (I am 57). I have always been able to keep myself away from the obese side, but not since I was in high school have I been able to get down to my “fighting weight”. The biggest obstacle in the past has been the need to maintain a strict regimen for “the rest of my life”, which does not fit into my busy lifestyle and travel schedule. The intriguing part of this program is both its reliance on scientific nutritional facts as well as a design that fits the type of rapid paced life that many of us need. The details of the program are essential for me to finally lose that stubborn 10-15 pounds that has haunted me for the past 20 years. Being a scientist myself, I appreciate the research that has gone into this program and am confident that it can help me meet my body compositon goals.
Hi Joel: My eldest child is now 14 years old, youngest is turning 8 soon. I gained 35 lbs after my first pregnancy and another 20 after my third. I had tried many times to loose the weight on my own since then through exercise and healthier eating. I have tried southbeach and Atkins diets but the carbohyates restrictions actually made me sick and unable to exercise. I have a lot of muscle tone underneigh all this fat. My main concern is how to eat in order to loose the fat and feel healthy while doing it. I have read so many conflicting opinions about foods that I’m thoroughly confused. But I do know from personal experience that I need good carbs and crave the bad ones at times as well. This holiday season is going to be tough with all the temptations and I really need to know how to handle them. Loosing this excess weight would free up my energy and time for other more important things I could be doing. Eating in a more realistic way and seeing results would accomplish this. I am so tied of restricting myself for years. If this plan works for me, I am surrounded by so many family members that could really use it too. We could really use a miracle this Christmas. Thanks for your time, Tracey
I would love to try your program. I was very interested in learning about leptin and how this hormone affects our metabolic system. I am the mother of four. My youngest is 3 years old. I am still the same weight that I was a few months after having him. This has been extremely frustrating for me. Add my husband’s job loss and a move for a new job in the mix, and I actually gained a little more weight last spring. I keep trying to lose the weight, but haven’t been able to stay with a plan. I believe your program offers a great balance between watching what you eat and being realistic about having some off days. It seems to me that your program would have the flexibility to help me stick with it. I don’t think I would feel deprived and blow the whole thing. I already set a goal to lose 10 lbs by January 1st. I would love it if your program would help get me there.
Hi Joel,
I was not even going to waste your time with a response, it seems as if you have alot more than 5 people out there that really could benefit from your program and after reading a few of them I would not blame you for giving it to those people that really need it. I am 41 years old today and I am just starting to educate myself on nutrition and exercise. September 10, 2008 I was in a very bad motorcycle accident with my fiance, his leg was tore off and my femur was shattered into 9 pieces, I have just had my 3rd rod put in this past June 2009. We both have lost weight due to the accident and gained weight this past year from not being to exercise like we would like too. Not to mention we have 5 children together, so that takes alot of work too. ha ha We are getting married in a month after waiting so long and we could not be happier. We both have struggled with those naughty 25 pounds that everybody else does. I have really enjoyed reading your updates and today is my first day to your blog and I am thankful that you take the time to help educate us, thank you and have a great day.

This program sounds like just the thing for a mom of three trying desperately to reclaim her pre-baby body. It is impossible to follow a strict “traditional” diet when you are feeding three and five year old kids, plus balancing nutrition and sanity while nursing is a must! I want to teach my children how to eat healthy by example, and I want them to know it’s okay, even healthy, to have treats once in a while. Reclaiming my body will also allow me to be a better mother, with more energy to help them be more active. So really, I need this information not only for myself, but for the well being of the next generation.
Three years ago I lost over 30 pounds using a combination of Curves, Aquafit, and the GI Diet. I stabilized for about six months before I began regaining – while still following the same guidelines. I gained five pounds the first month and freaked out, but tests to my thyroid proved that not to be the problem. Since then I’ve discovered I have Degenerative Disc Disease in my neck and upper back, and the extreme workouts are over.
I find myself now, very frustrated, at my highest ever weight with seemingly no hope. I’m peri-menopausal which adds to weight issues and mood swings, and I remember longingly the days not so long ago when I had tremendous energy and optimism. With 5 20-somethings coming home for Christmas break expecting their favorite meals and goodies I’m almost dreading the holidays. I cook most meals from scratch from homegrown/local ingredients and just really need some help getting things back under control. Your system sounds too good to be true, and you know the axiom–if it SOUNDS too good to be true, it probably is. I’m praying the axiom is wrong.
Joel…here is why I think this information is essential to me at this point in my life.
First, I am running out of life. At my age, (53) I need to have a lifestyle that I can maintain without feeling as though it is something else I have to manage. Life is busy and life is complex. I cannot diet anymore. I have messed up my metabolism and withered my resolve by yo-yo dieting. If I do not get access to your information, I know I am going to start having serious health problems because I am sixty pounds overweight. My husband is already showing signs of pre -diabetes and has triglycerides over 400. He has a sweet tooth. We have tried Atkins, South Beach, Abs Diet, Eat Right for Your Type, and none of them have given lasting results. We have not been able to totally give up foods we love forever. When we get off track, it psychologically makes us feel bad and then we give up. We can live with this plan, literally and figuratively. Will you please consider giving it to us? I know we will be successful with it. Not just because we will lose weight, but because we will never have to try to lose weight again. No matter what you decide, I appreciate your work. Thank you for the opportunity to share my story.
Hi Joel,
My name is Melissa, I’m 22. I’m from Puerto Rico. All my live i’ve been into sports. I’m a Black belt in Tae kwon -do, i was in the weight lifting team in my University I weighted 150 pounds 2 years ago and since i left the team i gain 40 pounds, I’m weighting now 190 :( !!!!! I’ve been trying everything to loose this 40 pounds for 2years and i dont see any results!!! I’m very frustrated, because all my live I have been in good shape and with good health and now I’m not. I want to be like that again. I really need a lot of help for that and I know that you are going to help me achive my goals!!!!
Thank you,
Sincerely,

Like a lot of other people I’ve lost weight the last couple of yrs. I joined another program and it did work but the problem now is that program is over and unless I continue buying their product (expensive)nothing I do is working and the weight is slowly coming back. I need to learn to maintain my weight in real life. My wife also would like to try your program. In the past she’s tried many so called diets that never worked or only for a short time. She is now a little over 300lbs. and she is almost giving up on trying to lose weight because she thinks nothing will work for her. I’m 59 yrs. old and my wife is 58 yrs. old so it is important we both try too maintain our weight. I’m type 2 diabetic so it is very important for me to keep my weight in check and you can only imagine the problems my wife will have if she doesn’t also. I hope your program can help both of us.
I’ve tried most every “diet” to come down the pike but as I have gotten older I have not been able to lose the weight like I could in my 30s.
I need a balanced plan that works intelligently with the realities of life and from what I have seen in the information you have provided thus far, this seems to be the method that I think will work for me.
I was excited to learn from you about Leptin and how it works in our bodies and how we can manage it to help us in ourt weight loss.
As someone whose family has a history of diabetes and heart disease, I know I have to be able to control my weight if I want to live to see my children grow up.
Also my wife would be able to benefit from this plan as well and we;re excited to start this journey together for the benefit of our whole family.
For me your program sounds really really interessting. I am at the moment at a big turning point in my life. I am from Germany but moved 6 month ago to the U.S. to be together with my fiancé. Because of Visa issues I have to go back to Germany before Christmas for around 6 month. My life is in permanent changing and so is my weight. I gained in the last 3 years around 20 pounds. And for the last 5 month I try more than hard to get rid of them. I do 3 times a week Boot Camp and 2 times a week Spinning. I eat very lean (what are Carbs? ;-)) And guess what??? I have not lost a pound!!!! Ok, I have lost 5 inch on my waist and 3% body fat. But I am a woman, I want to see the numbers on the scale as well. I am really frustrated and after I was reading the last days about your program I thought: Hey, that sounds right! That sounds like the way which could help me!
I come from a family of slim people, but it simms as soon we hit our 50s we gain weight, and I am no exception. I have been trying to loose the famous 10 pounds for the last 10 years they keep going up and down but never disappear.
Your method is new to me, so I would love to try it. I have a small business so I am pretty busy. but the way you describe your program, it can fit very well in my way of life. I love sweets and chocolate, it would be great if I can indulge sometime and not feel guilty.
I have been folowing and reading all of your emails and I have learned quite of bit on dieting and excercise. I can see you really did a lot of research. I want to thank you for all the information and downloads you have send me so far.
Hi Joel,
I have been trying intermittent fasting for the last few months, but I am pretty much stuck at a weight now with no sustained movement in either direction. I think the ideas you have on leptin are exactly what I need to learn about in order to make the most of my off days. At this stage I am concerned that prolonged fasting may have counter-productive effects on my leptin levels (and overall weight-loss in general), so would be fascinated to see if the information you are offering will be the missing ingredient in my current regimen.
Thanks for the information you have provide so far – already very intriguing – whether or not I win this program!!
Regards,
Bryan
Hey Joel, thanks for the opportunity to win the “Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition”. After reading all the updates you’ve sent out & the “Black Book” I think your program would truely be perfect for me. I’m a 41 year old mom of 3 who has been overweight for well over twenty years. I’ve yo-yo’d on and off different diets and finally found I could lose weight through lo-carb but would get burned out and couldn’t reach my goal or keep off what I’d lost. I started again Jan. 2, 2009 determined to make it this time, I was 291 lbs. & that was down from I’m sure well over 300. I’m now sitting at 220 lbs. and I literally mean sitting, my weight will bobble up by a pound or two then drop back to 222 and it’s getting frustrating. With the approach of the holiday season I’ve been dreading the temptation to over-indulge, the holidays have been my undoing before & everyone fears it will be again, my husband has made the decision that we’ll go out to eat for Thanksgiving so there won’t be any leftovers & deserts at home to cause me problems, his words “you’ve worked to hard and come to far to take the chance.”, gotta love him. I know that even with his help & encouragement there are more temptations & opportunities to blow it on the horizon, especially with an office full of ladies who’ll bring in all sorts of candies & goodies through the end of the year, but it seems that with your program I could handle whatever comes up, and even enjoy some of it without undoing all I’ve done. Once again, thank you for the chance to win your book & thank you for all the information you’ve shared.
hi joel would like to try it because i have tryed a lot of other ways. my story is like yours through growing up and school. sounds like it will work for me. iam 50 years old and 300lbs, willing to try a new way to loose weight
Hi Joel,
I turned 50 this past year and I am still struggling to get to a healthy weight. Over the years I have tried various diets and weight loss plans. Oh sure, they worked…until I went off their meal plans or stopped counting points or calories. I am tired of having food ( or lack of food) control my life. I want to be a healthy, happy and energetic person. I don’t want to coast through life waiting for a disease (subsequent to being obese) to take over my body and mind. Your program seems like the right match for me. Realistic and practicable. A true way to eat my way healthy.
Greetings,
I figured I would go on and throw out my comments. Currently, I’m deployed to Southern Afghanistan; I’m not overweight and have a great workout program going. My interest in your program is that it is almost impossible to eat clean over here, because we get what we get when it comes to foods. My hope is that perhaps with your program I can figure out a better eating system to continue to gain definition without losing muscle mass with less than optimal food choices. What I really want to see is your methods to kick start your metabolism after periods of limited food intake. Back in the states I compete in Jiu-jitsu and submission grappling and the lighter I can get (without strength loss) while I’m over the fast my re-bound time will be when I get back to regular training and it would be nice to drop down a division or two. What I will add, that I didn’t see in some of the other posts that I glanced at is what I will do for you. If your system works, I’ll pass on where to get your program to all the troopers I’m with now, and I’ll pass it on to my teammates back in the states.
Thanks
George
Two important concepts immediately got me excited about this diet: leptin & carb cycling! First, I own two books on leptin and its importance in weight loss, but I never understood how to apply the data in my own life. My eyes would glaze over trying to make sense of it all. After finishing your easy-to-understand newsletter, all the fuzzy facts came into clear focus. Finally, I understood how leptin could be used to my advantage. Secondly, I noticed through my own dieting experiences over the years a strange anomaly would occur which I thought was random good luck. I would drop weight for no apparent reason when I ate certain carbs after low-carb dieting. I had no idea it had a name: carb cycling. Your information is the first to introduce what I already intuitively knew and personally experienced in my own life. I didn’t know my observation was a proven science fact and could help me lose weight in a scientific way. My body has already proven this strategy works. I can’t wait to put your plan into action! Hallelujah, I’m on my way.
Hi Joel,
When I started reading the 6 free updates I got on my mail from you, I was happy to know that it was so closely related to what I was experiencing – from trying to follow a strict plan, to the weight not differing by the slightest over a week. Your updates came exactly at the time I needed them – I was beginning to lose interest in my weght-loss program because there were hardly any results. But your programs gave me a new hope – that I could achieve what I wanted to, because when a person like you could fail in his diet, then it could very well be me as well. I find your updates very useful and logical, and hope to get more, or all :) of them.
Thanks for the good work.
