I have struggled with my weight for many years, going back and forth to one extreme or the other. I am a 49 year old father of 2 young children and that makes it even more difficult for my wife and I to eat right. I want to control my weight better so I can keep up with my kids and control my blood pressure and also enjoy overall better health. I have a great desire to eat the foods that I have given up to maintain the weight that I am at right now, but I don’t have the know how to do that yet. I am anxious to learn from you how to do that. Several of my co-workers and I have been on a “get lean kick” for a year or so now and we all have given up the foods that we have loved eating for so long. I would love to start eating those foods again right in front of them and loose weight while they drop their jaws in disbelief. I can’t wait until this is available!
I’m going to make this post extremely quick and easy.

Hi Joel,
I am 58 and have been struggling with my weight for most of my adult life. I don’t eat loads of sugary stuff and overall my diet is pretty healthy so I have found it hard to understand why I don’t lose weight. Reading about Lepin and the strategic management of food intake just resonates with me. I’ve often felt like the more I adjust to eating fruit, veg, good fats, no sugar, the more my body accepts it but goes ‘wheee-heee’ and piles on the pounds the moment I step out of line for a few days on holiday! I tend to embrace new theories so took on board the low GI idea – snacking between meals , usually fruit, has helped my energy levels no end – and the low carbs after 5pm has been helpful, but only up to a point. When the boys come back from uni a fish & chip lunch isn’t as disastrous as I would have expected, and even a couple of days over Christmas of over indulgence is usually OK so the idea that eating heartily every now and then and my body coping is something I have noticed but not understood – and certainly haven’t known how to utilise it to help shift the weight. At New Year we go away with a bunch of food gourmets and I would love to know how to enjoy the week without coming back having piled on another yet another few pounds.
Hi Joel,
I am a 57 year old woman who started out in life as a slim, slender good looking woman. It was after my first child that I started dieting and now that I am a grandmother and after years of dieting and losing and gaining back I find myself still grossly overweight. I can’t seem to find the right path to follow, if I eat the foods that I like I am doomed to failure, I am very limited to exercise as I have health issues. I really need your help!
Diets not working, workouts gone to waste…. They’ve said it all. Well that’s the truth with most of us here, we’re all here for one reason, to lose weight. I’m getting more and more frustrated by the day for the past…hundred years and here’s why. Im in my early thirties, ive been lifting weights since I was 14, and in my 15 or so years being in and out of gym memberships, no one who I have just met would think I’ve been serious in the gym, though I’ve been working out like CRAZY, I gain a bit of muscle mass, but it looks like im gaining more flabs than muscle. And the worst thing is ive tried diets before, the last one was the meal replacement shakes which I really had high hopes, and it was the most effective diet Ive been into….for about 3 weeks, then I gained it all back again. During the 1st week on the meal replacement shakes ive lost 2kg which is the most ive lost in my life, another week and I lost less than a kg and I was becoming frustrated for being a slave to the shake and I decided to let myself go a bit to lessen the frustration, then I gained all the weight back again and some. Here I am in my 30s 260lbs of flabs with a little muscle hidden somewhere with a little hope that there is something that would actually work.
I love food. It’s a huge part of my culture, I love to cook, and I believe that apprecication of good food is important in enjoying life. I need a diet that is effective but allows me to enjoy my favorite foods, at least once in a while! In my early teens, I was always very thin, but now that I’m a bit older, I can’t seem to maintain the slimness I would like. As a dancer, I often feel pressure to be thinner and thinner (many of my friends are anorexic), so I need a healthy diet that won’t starve and weaken my body but still help me lose the weight I need to lose in order to move freely. I think this diet is perfect for me, because it fits my schedule and life as a teen, and my family won’t have to worry about me starving myself! I think this diet could also improve my overall health, mood, and outlook on life.
I have been on just about every diet there is during my adult life, having little results. I am 58, and know my metabolism is sluggish. I have been doing Jazzercise( a cardio and strength exercise) for 3 years now. I mainly exercise for my heart and my bones., but would love to lose this fat around my waist area. While I have had discipline with my exercise, I am not disciplined with my food choices. I tend to put my body in starvation mode, by not eating at regular intervals. I will go all day and not eat, thinking calorie cutting is the answer. It has been difficult for me to change my old ways of thinking as far as food is concerned. I think your program will teach me how to change my way of thinking and eating and help me lose those unwanted pounds of fat.
Hi Joel,
I’ve been overweight my whole life, and missed out on so much life has to offer. Now, I’ve actually lost 70 pounds. I started the process 5 years ago, and have lost in chunks with lonnnnng plateaus in between where I would be inconsistent and “fall on and off the wagon.” I’m currently in the longest “plateau” of all – with the last 25 pounds to lose, I’ve been stuck going up and down the same 10 pounds for 1.5 years now. I’m so frustrated! I will do really well for weeks, even months, but if I eat grains my weight loss is really slow, and eventually I start cheating and I guess I’m not “cheating the right way” because it’s not having the effect you say your program produces. I’m 38 years old now. I REALLY want to accomplish my goal weight, FINALLY, and get my eating and weight under control. It’s taking such a toll on how I feel about myself. I SO want to fit back into my jeans that fit 10 pounds ago, and then have them get too big too! And I want to look HOT for new years eve, and feel great and maybe even meet someone special! Thanks Joel! And Happy Holidays!

To be honest I am not really that much overweight but to loose a couple of pounds would be more than welcome. To loose about 15 to 20 pounds would be ideal.
For many years I have tried and indeed I do not manage to loose that 15 to 20 pounds. So I would welcome this program that would enable me to get my ideal weight and stay on this ideal weight.
Thanks Jan
Hey Joel,
I am currently 34 lbs overweight and am struggling to lose it off. I would try to stick to a healthy eating plan but I would fall off the plan badly after 1 week because I would try to restrict myself badly.
I was around 26 lbs overweight 2 years ago, lost it all of by exercising hard and dieting( depriving myself too) and now I have fallen badly.
But now I know that there is a great solution to my problem, which is this program that you’re offering and I know I WILL succeed in your program!
Joel this is the most exciting diet I have heard of in quite some time that sounds like something I can believe in. Not only can I eat without feeling hungry or depriving myself of my favorite foods, but it sounds like something I could continue permanently. I am going through changes in my body at this stage in life that I never thought would happen to me. I have never had to worry about belly fat, flab or weight in my life until recently. I really look forward to having a guide to help me get through this body change with a positive result. The one thing I struggle with is that I am vegetarian. Many diets require a lot of protein by way of lean meats. I really hope that by getting a copy of the Cheat Your Way Thin diet you will be showing me there is a way to get rid of the flab, fat and weight without eating meat. Show me the way!
I’ve basically been dieting for 2 years now on and off trying to reach a low % of body fat but sometmes it feels unattainable. I’ve ranged from 149-173 lbs in the past 2 years and probably never been below 20% body fat. My main problem is I pick a Monday to start a strict diet that really includes none of my favorite foods, instead some foods that I enjoy along with some that I could easily live without. I stick to the plan for a few weeks, sometime less, sometimes more, making great progress until I start craving my favorite foods and treats again. Soon I decide to give in on a weekend and say I’ll start again on Monday. Because I know I wont be able to have any of my favorite foods for a long time I end up on a huge binge, eating everything in sight that know I won’t be able to have when I “get back on my diet”. My weekend off usually turns into a week or more and soon my jeans don’t button and I feel too fat to go out wearing anything but sweats. Im happiest and most confident when Im slim but everytime I try to treat myself I feel extremely guilty. I feel like this program is my last hope at getting the body I truly desire and actually maintaining it for life.
Hi Joel,
I’m 28 years old, am 6′ tall and weigh 220 lbs. While I’ve alwasy led a very active lifestyle (sports, workout classes etc) I have not had any success in dropping any weight. Working out is my stress reliever so that’s not the problem. My biggest struggle is my eating. I include plenty of fruits and vegetables and can eat well for a couple of days but end up completely blowing it on a meal, which becomes a slippery slope for me for the rest of the day and maybe the day after. Your program sounds like it’s the plan that while being effective isn’t as stringent as others and allows that occasional mis-hap. I’m hoping that by following your program it will allow me to drop some excess body fat and create a new eating lifestyle that I can maintain forever. I’d love to be successful with this program to share the secrets with my family to enhance their lifestyles as well. Thanks for putting your blood, sweat and tears into this program.
Joel,
I just turned fifty-seven on Friday the thirteenth. I am a hospice nurse and very active, but can’t lose the weight I now weigh two-hundred and sixty pounds. This is not the way I wanted to look in my “Golden Years!” The saving grace is that I am 5’11”. While showering I noticed that I had a stomach that hung below my waistline, but even more shocking to me is that I thought my leg was swollen around my knee when I realized that is was fat on my thighs pushing down on my knee caps! This is not the body I envisioned taking into my “Golden Years.” I have read all of the testimonials and I want to win whatever I can get from you; especially you plan. It will take direction such as yours and a plan that works to make a believer out of me. Please help!!!!
I am 52 years old and 100 pounds overweight since I started having children in my twenties. I have tried everything from pills to patches to liquids to prepared foods and strict diets. You name it, I’ve just about tried it, even the miracle answers (that I know in my mind won’t work – but willing to give it a try). The fact is, I enjoy the taste of food so I would love to know how to eat to lose… what a miracle. My mom died at age 58, her parents at 52. I know I need to lose the weight and I want to lose the weight for myself, my husband, and my children. I hope you can help me.
I have been strugling with losing weight for a long time almost 10 years and never achieved what I liked to be, however it is more than one year that I am trying hard to reach to my goal lose 10lb , but no success. I am interested in your program , as it looks like you eat whatever you like but at the right time and lose weight without being starving, that’s what I am looking for.
Hi Joel
I have struggled with my weight for more years than I care to remember, 18 months ago I lost 2 stone following weightwatchers. I wanted to lose 4 stone and get back to my pre-babies size but no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t shift the rest. I can see and feel some of it creeping back on and I get so disheartened that I can’t seem to reach my goal no matter how “good” I am. I am a mother of three, one of whom is an 11 year old girl and I am very aware of showing her positive messages about healthy eating and body shape – I don’t want to be harping on about diets all the time and giving her the wrong idea about herself. Also I turned 40 last month and feel that the time is now to regain my self esteem and self confidence.
Your messages have been so insprational and easy to understand I know that this is the road for me to follow.
I’m a 53 year old mother of 2 and grandmother of 6. I have had ovarian cancer, but cancer free for just over 2 years. Chemo damaged my Thyroid so I take medication, probably, for the rest of my life. I also had back problems for most of my life. Due to the cancer surgery (cutting from diaphragm to pubic bone) and lack of abdominal support, 2 vertebras have moved and pinched my sciatic nerve. Walking and standing for even short periods is very painful and exercising is difficult. I have been on the yo-yo diets for most of my life. I am now at a point that I want and need to be as healthy as possible. If I can lose the weight and become healthier, it will take some of the pressure off my back, my body will have a better chance to regulate the Thyroid hormones and I will be stronger physically to fight the cancer again. (Ovarian cancer typically returns within 5 years). I have a lot to live for!!!! And your program seems to have all the different elements and is the complete package, that I need to be successful….. not for the short term but for the rest of my life. This is the perfect time in my life for your program. I will put all the strength, determination and focus into this that I did in fighting the cancer. Please help me!
Dear Joel: When I was 1st sent your link from another fitness guru (?) I was and still am, very skeptical about a “new” way to lose this weight. I am 66 yrs old and have tried every diet that has come out with limited success. Because of health issues I have researched the idea of bariatric surgery to help me lose this weight. I carry most of my weight in my midsection and stomach areas. Exercise prgrams have also come and went, again with limited success. My Dr. has stated that although the weight needs to come off, I am not a canidate for the surgery at this time.
Now, I get your information and how you put your program together. Having been burned (sometimes badly) by other programs offered on the internet has me asking if this is to good to be true. If it sounds to good to be true – it usually isn’t what its reported to be. I am really hoping that you are different. That your prgram can make a huge difference in my life where others have failed. I sure would like the opportunity to try it and report back to you on a regular basis of any successes.
This prgram, if its as good as you say it is, will help me lose the depression, guilt, and medical issues that I am currently dealing with due to the excess weight. I will be able to start a new healthier chapter in my life. For that, I would be forever Grateful.
I need this because of chocolate. I need this because of popcorn, pasta and pie. I need this because I hate to live in a world where all of my favorite things are off limits to me if I want the body that I want. I need this program because when I DO take the plunge into may favorite foods, I spend the next 24 hours riddled with guilt and tiring myself out trying desperately to burn more calories to make up for it. I need this because I’m 30 and I should be hot. I need this because as soon as I started to read and hear this information my heart skipped a beat, my mouth watered and I was overcome with a sense of hope. Hope that my awesome life would come easy and not be such a struggle anymore! I’ll tell you Joel I need this because I DON’T need to feel like this anymore. I need my chocolate Joel.
Something has to work, and I’m waiting and hoping this is it! I have exercised all of my life and eaten relatively healthily, but as I continue to get older the discrepancey between exercise and the weight gain continues to grow. I can’t exercise enough to keep them balanced and there has to be something out there that can help. I’ve tried several different things over the past couple of years, but nothing has worked in the long term. I have an exercise science background and can tell this is legite. You have done your homework, and I would like a chance to prove that anyone, no matter how much or how little they have to lose can be successful with this program, even over the holidays. I have been the example that my family has always looked too, but now all of a sudden that is failing and I need to get it under control now. Helping myself, will ultimately help all of my family members and give me back the confiedence I have lost over these last couple years of struggling. Thank you Joel!
Hi Joel,
Without the exceptional information you’ve been sharing on how to get my weight and eating habits into control I would have remained stuck in the same old rutt.
I am just beginning to realize the importance of eating right and increasing the amount of lean muscle. I’ve not been able to walk for years and now with your help I am starting the up-hill road and beginning to see results.
I want to be an example to my family showing them anyone can accomplish anything. When they ask how? I will reply: Joel Marion’s Cheat Your Way Thin Holiday Edition is the best!
Thank you!
First, thank you for your commitment to coaching real people in their quest to get healthy and fit. I would love to win CYWT holiday Edition. I will turn 50 next year and I have slowly changed my eating habits and added exercise to my daily life. I want to reach my goals and help others reach theirs. Everyone needs a mentor/coach- it is hard to do this by yourself. thank you for sharing your experiences and offering this great program. I know I can get confused with all the information about what you should do to achieve fat loss. What I don’t want to do is give up. thanks for considering my application for the free program, CJ
Hi Joel
Here’s the thing…I’ve spent my entire life thinking all this exercise and weight-loss stuff was for the birds…(oh yeah, I’m 52). My idea of staying in shape was smoking, drinking and playing rock-n-roll. Well, those crazy times are long gone, but unfortunately the stupid behavior remained with me for a while longer. I eventually quit smoking and cut way, way down on the alcohol. I even became a family man after all these years, and now I’m a 3 workout a week guy who is trying to set a good example for his kids. My biggest weakness right now is knowledge about nutrition, or to be more accurate, “how to eat”…and it’s affected my oldest son the most. The poor kid is only 9 and may be on his way to obesity if something doesn’t change. Joel, I think this program is what I’ve been waiting for. Just reading the updates over the past two weeks has helped me drop 4 pounds! Joel…you ROCK!
