Hi Joel
Until recently I was always thin. Now, over the space of about a year, I’ve put on 60 pounds of fat! Yes, I’ve seen my doctor, etc. Got thyroid pills and instructions to “walk every day and eat vegetables – for the rest of your life.” Sorry – do I look like a rabbit? Anyway, I’ve tried hard for 3 months and not a pound has budged. I do exercise, I eat healthy, and yet I remain at 40% body fat! It’s so depressing I’ve started to hate myself. My joints ache from carrying the weight and I’m always bone tired. I just want the real me back.

Hi. I’m 40, 85kg and need to lose fat and introduce some cardio into my workouts. I have two jobs and I’m a volunteer firefighter and my workouts time slots are sporadic at best. Ultimately my fitness is what I’m most interested in improving. After that, I’d like to achieve the physique I’ve strived for most of my life and achieve my goal to be on the 2011 New Zealand Fire Fighter Calendar and compete in next year’s Combat Challenge. I think yours is the system to help me and would be more than willing to map my progress for publicity purposes… Thanks, Jonathan

I’m not a big “dieter”. I’ve always believed that by “eating clean”, and exercising my fitness would be achieved. I’ve completed 4 rounds of P90X, and while I have made dramatic gains from that program my weight loss hit a plateau. CYWT appears ideal to me because there is actual science and rationale behind it which I can understand. This isn’t the “grapefruit diet” or some similar fad, or the dreaded, unable-to-be-maintained Atkins. I’m looking forward eagerly to trying it and finally getting my 6-pack. I only wish I didn’t have to wait until the 24th to start!

Hello, Joel,
I live over in the UK. I am a 63 year old perpetual dieter. You name it I have tried it!! from the age of 16 I have yoyoed dieted myself through life. The only real success I had was when I started running at 44 years of age. 3 London Marathons and dozens of 10Km and half marathons later I was lean and fit, apart from not being able to walk because of really messed up achilles tendons. so guess what, running had to stop and all the weight came back!! I am desperately looking forward to trying your way of losing fat not only for me but for my husband who has always been overweight ,has tried to lose but gets very stressed when hungry, he is 64 and we need to get his weight down as he is fighting prostate cancer! We wish you success and a healthy life! happy Holidays.
Thank you
Maureen and John

I am very nearly a stereotype. I have been overweight for a long time but, just before getting married in 2000, I ballooned up in weight and girth. The only diet that had ever worked for me was the Atkins diet, but my wife hated it, it wasn’t right for my kids who came along in 2002 and 2004, and oh, the cravings!!! Apart from that, my own “only soup for lunch” diet(!) worked well to get my weight down, but I have plateaued. Also, as for many of the stereotypes you have coming to you, I developed type 2 diabetes around 2001… Not great. Pretty scary in fact. Your program seems a perfect, sensible way of living that will bring my weight down to a reasonable level, remove my cravings, and suit my wife and 3 kids too. We are looking forward to being a healthy family and this will hugely help in controlling my diabetes.

Hey Joel,

(P.S. my language is not that good so please bear with me)
I got Sean Nalewanyj’s “real deal transformation” 3 months ago and i have been following it ever since. you can follow a program up-to a certain point and then you get the feeling that you cant resist these “cheat foods” and so you take a bite or a slice or whatever. I am 21 years old and i am from Bahrain. in our country there is not much “correct” information about dieting and nutrition and so i follow what ever advice i get from Sean and hopefully from your program. there is a lot of junk food lying around in my house (potato chips, chocolate and all that stuff) and i try my best to hide it instead of keeping it in front of me and i forget about for a while but when i remember, it becomes very hard to resist. my youngest brother always bugs my mom to get him food from Mcdonalds and so once a week they order takeout and i always get tempted to order but i don’t because i know i will feel guilty later. when you said that there is a way to “cheat” while simultaneously losing fat i got VERY VERY curious on how to do it because program will be a perfect fit for me and it help me encourage my cousin to lose weight as well because he LOVES food, and whenever i advise to start following a diet he says i cant, this means that i would have to give up my favorite foods and this is something that i cant do. at first i was very skeptical but when i read your newsletters, i thought that they made sense and so i am very eager to try out your program.

Hi Joel, I am a 48 year old and live in Brazil. I don’t remember how I linked on to your website. But, I was instantly interested. I am not obese, but have been fighting for years to lose that 10-15 lbs. I exercise, eat “clean”, and do everythi ng right. But, nothing much happens. My plateau, after years of dieting and denying myself of all the foods I really like, comes after only about a week. Here in Brazil, there are lots of goods foods, but there are lots of health foods that we just can’t get. I need something real and down-to-earth, and this sounds like it! I am a Christian and I like your clean website. Thanks, Allison

Hi, I am currently having a tought time fighting against a pretty nasty depression and panic syndrome for months. With this dreadful winter darkness in Sweden, everything just seems dark and hopeless in my life. There’s hardly anything that interests me except food, which pathetically has become my only pleasure and comfort at the moment.

But not even this only pleasure left in my life can I enjoy without bad conscious or worry. I have become a emotional eater: craving and eventually stuffing myself with food when my depression attacks come along, only to leave myself feeling physically uncomfortable and mentally anxious about what negative effects the overeating would have on my body.

I used to be fairly small (5’2″, 106 – 108lbs) with a fairly firm stomach. I’m still not fat yet, but I have gone up 11 lbs recently and probably due to all this stress and depression, a lot of this gained weight has been stored around my waistline. Now I can’t even fit in those nice and tight clothes I used to wear! Fashion used to be one of my biggest interests and I was always confident in my fashionable outfits. But now why would I want to people to notice how much I have gone up? So I don’t feel like going out and try to avoid parties and friend gatherings. This way I just end up feeling more depressed, stuffing myself with more food. The whole thing has become a vicious circle.

I really wish I could get rid of my depression and feel confidence in myself again. Hopefully, this program can be of some help. It might not work wonders on curing my depression, but perhaps it can help me to break free from this terrible emotional eating pattern I’ve lately developed. By getting back the nice figure I used to have, I might be able to regain some self-confidence and jump out of the vicious circle.

Thanks
Sofie

hey Sir Joel,
Well first of all, thanks for the updates. Reading them really opened my eyes on how to properly diet. Although, i would really love to learn more:) I already have the body i want, i just dont know to maintain it. Being able to get this body, ive grown to be scared to eat other foods which is actually really depressing. I also have the guilt of eating/drinking something unhealthy that it makes me work out more. I would really love to win this book so that i could actually eat foods that i want without having to over train myself and without getting that feeling of guilt again. HELP ME get out of this. PLEASE!
thanks a lot joel:)- your fan from the Philippines, Luis

I just came to learn about your programme not long ago and i must admit that it is one of the most encouraging one that i have ever tried.

i have been trying other dieting programmes and it is like i got into a platue and i could not get any further but by tring Cheat your way programme i lost like 3 pounds in three days. and that is why i think your programme is the best and i think it will work for me.

The World proof(48 points) testmonies are enough reason for any one to want to go through the programme. one other thing that has been an encouragement if the fact that it is not like once on the programme it is like loosing fat becomes a way of life and i think this is what is lacking in all other programmes which i have been trying thus leading me to a very frastrating time of no moving any further.

This progam is perfect for me at this point in my life because 2 days ago I had bilateral intralase surgery–in English I had surgery so I never have to wear contacts or glasses again!Call me shallow, but with summer approaching it is my dream in a few months, when my eyes have healed, to go to the beach and for the first time in my life wear a bikini. For years I have been trying for years to shed my ‘puppy’ fat,and this year especially have been eating healthier than anyone I know…spending my free time between exercise and preparing healthy meals and snacks when most people my age would just get takeaway/junk from the vending machine…However the result of all this effort…almost no change.I don’t have a problem maintaining my weight, but those extra inches and tummy just won’t budge.I have been eating healthily, exercising regularly but the fat just won’t leave.I never understood how I can be doing everything I thought possible right but not getting any results.Until now. Finally I can see that my self control may be the cause. If I could measure my leptin levels I would be willing to bet that my diet is causing them to plummet.I have done the hard work to no avail, now I need your help, access to the cheat your way thin holiday edition where I will finally with new eyes and a new body for the first time enter summer without feeling self conscious in summer clothes.

Hey Joel, well, I ‘ve been doing or taking many diffferent approaches to losing weight and I think I’m close to finding one that works for me. See, I’m trying intermittent fasting and that’s got some similarities to your program, so I’m thinking that CYWT could be the “answer”. Like many other people, I feel like diets are too restrictive and those “cheat days” seem soooo awesome, to be able to eat something yummy and KNOW that it’s working FOR you and not against you. And of course I know that exercise of some form is a must, and I’ ve been working out for years so, all in all I want the program cause I would commit to it and I might get the body I’ve been dreaming of!! Caroline

I’ve dieted all my life. A few times with great success only after a year or so to put it back on. I actually cheated on diets before and found that I still lost weight during those weeks. I have to have an operation in a month, I also have a hip problem & athritis therefore I must be careful with exercise. I have three small boys and am finding it very difficult with this rush, rush to MOTIVATE myself. You know when you are down you like to eat something you shouldn’t to make you feel better. Later of course you feel guilty of course. I would be FANTASTIC to know when you could CHEAT & I know it would motivate me to be good on other days looking forward to CHEATING. You know I live in Cyprus know & food temptation is difficult now, especially for someone who lives to EAT.
Thankyou for the information you have given me so far it has already got me thinking along the right track. I think it’s great that you help other’s, I always try to also.
Regards, here’s to enjoying the Holidays without feeling guilty.
Katrina.

I am 61 years and have been on a losing battle with weight since going through menopause. I do cardio at work during lunch and I do some weight training at home and still cannot get the scale to budge. I’ve consulted with a registered dietician and still flatline. I cannot lose the weight around my middle, hips and thighs and I am afraid of what retirement will mean for me. I’ve worked hard all my life, I rarely eat out, but it seems the harder I work the worse it gets. Sometimes I even gain! I don’t want to be buried weighing 191. Please help!

Thanks for considering my plight.

Cynthia

Hey Joel,
First up ill tell you a little about myself. Im 23yrs old and live in Sydney. I have struggled with losing weight for most of my life. at 17 I weighed in at 240 pounds. I’m now at 180. Pat on the back for me! I think true value of this program is being able to enjoy life while making progress. At 23 its really a struggle to eat perfectly clean while still maintaining a social life, which is very important to me. If you do manage to avoid every temptation well done, but are you still progressing after 4 weeks? No. This program makes sense because it doesnt restrict you enjoying your life. Thats the biggest plus. Dieting doesnt have to be “hard” and you dont have to continuously turn down occassions and events that make you feel like your missing out. Psychologically that is such a relief and allows you to churn out week after week of enjoyment.

Thank you Joel.

Dan

Hi Joel,

Sadly unlike your other readers, I’m afraid I’m still skeptical about your program, as I am about most diet and fat loss programs. Forgive my skepticism but I work for the legal division in a large Media organisation, therefore, we are trained to question everything and accept nothing at face value. Most of what you have said is sensible, but my skeptism stems from the following points you have made; (i) You mention the body going into “Starvation Mode” from crash dieting. This terminology is an urban myth, such a thing does not exist, if it did exist then all those poor people in Auschwitz or Japanese Prisoners of War, would not have lost any weight. Neither would Size Zero models get to a size zero. (ii) You suggested using 100mg of 5-HTP as an appetite suppressant. I tried this (and am still trying it) but it has no effect whatsoever,in fact on the first day I used it, I couldn’t stop eating all evening. I’m a bit concerned you’re prescribing an anti-depressant as an appetite suppressant.(iii) Really not convinced about your No carbs all week and load up carbs on the weekend strategy (iv) Not convinced about this new buzz word about “leptins”, this so smacks of those bogus Accia Berry diets.
So Joel, what I say to you is, if you want an honest, unbiased response to your holiday fat loss program, then let me try it for free. Our media organisation is renowned worldwide for telling the truth and I will say it as it is, if it works or it fails, or is it just another gimmick.

Hi Joel
I’ve done the diets have lost and gained over the years.I’m finally down to a reasonable weight but need to lose another 10-12 lbs of fat. It simply will not shift, most of it is belly fat.I work out really hard but also love my food.Reading your notes makes so much sense .I had heard about the leptin hormone but now i know how it works. What i really loved about your plan was the psychological bit where you can have some of the nice food on certain days and not feel so horribly guilty afterwards.I actually planned a day during the week to eat some of my favourite foods and felt great-no guilt. And it was great knowing that this was helping to burn fat!!! Brilliant. Please pick me ,Thanks, Rosaleen

Hey there Joel,

I’ll turn 29 in a couple days and I’d love to benefit from your knowledge. 3 years ago I had to move 200km from my man and I’ve put on some weight ever since I started living as a bachelor during the week. I’m not heavily overweight and I’m convinced it should be fairly easy to lose this fat !! The problem is : I have a hard time finding people to exercise with me… and jogging on your own isn’t much fun !! I do go climbing and moutain biking on week-ends with my husband who’s of the hyperactive kind but I feel out of shape and what’s more I start lacking self-confidence… I was very fit when I met my man and could dress however I wanted. I want to feel sexy again for me, for him !! Your method just sounds too good to be true, soI’d loooooove you to share your secret with me !!
Thanks for your help anyways, your newsletter is already a big help :o)

Cheers from France !!

Hello Joel,

I have struggled with my weight for most of my adult life. I am not ridiculously overweight, but I would like to lose about 30 lbs. I do my best to “eat properly” 90 % of the time, but my wife has no interest in bodybuilding and my kids don’t particularly care about healthy eating (they’re 4 and 2). With the holidays coming up, I know that alot of tempting food will be put in front of me (I’m French-Canadian, we love to eat! ) and I would like to learn how to manipulate these feasts to my advantage. My goal is to see my abs for the first time in my life. Please help.

Thanks

Joel

Hi Joel,

I have been struggling with my weight my entire life. I remember going to my uncle’s house for Christmas when I was just 5 years old & while taking off my coat, my aunt patted me on the stomach & said “What a beer belly you have”. Even at that young age I was mortified & have been dieting ever since. I have tried many different diets – Medifast & Atkins to name just 2, & I did lose weight, but I was still flabby in all the same places. Not to mention how hard sticking to a diet like those can be. The holidays have always been a big problem for me. It starts with Halloween & all that candy, then the great Thanksgiving pig out, followed by Christmas shopping & all those wonderful smells coming from the food court not to mention the parties! But after reading your Holiday Blackbook & the updates, this year will be a lot different! Cheating with a purpose – how wonderful!

I am looking for the way to lead a healthy life and be able to enjoy some foods I love without guilt and self-loathing. I have recently lost 30 lbs which I am very pleased with. I would love to lose another 10 lbs … and then I would love to feel confident that I will have the tools to maintain it for the rest of my life. I believe your system is the tool I am looking for.

To The Dude,

Blah blah blah…my story is not different from any one elses-
20+ years of trying to look good naked.

I NEED a natural approach to weight loss. I’ve tried EVERY fat burning supplement and stack to date coupled with cardio, resistance training and yoga.
My results have been sluggish. I’ve bought into the hype of the fat-burner world including Atkins, South Beach, etc and though they worked in the short term, I ended up putting on more weight later.

Discipline is not my problem – I need something that works. Hype? Forget the sizzle…I want the steak (and the pizza you promised).

Pete

I’m 54. I keep fit. I run, golf, walk, use weights, you name it. I’m also careful with what I eat keeping my calorie intake at or below recommended levels. But can I lose weight? No.
There has to be another way. I’ve read what you’ve being saying and I admit the science sounds feasible but its not something that is instinctively obvious. I guess I need to try it and see for myself.

Thanks

Steve

My wife and I are in our mid- 50’s and lead a reasonably healthy lifestyle. Exercise, sleep, & eating healthy foods. We were on the South Beach diet 5 years ago and lost a lot of the “mid-life” weight. However, we’re in a rut and have not found an eating plan to help us lose those last few pounds. We need something that works and is reasonably healthy. Something that we can “pass on” to our kids to help them in their day to day lives.

Hi Joel, I have many reasons for trying your “cheat your way thin”. I am 40 yrs old and have 3 young sons, 6, 2,& 1 yrs old. During my last 2 pregnancies, I was considered ‘high risk’ of premature deliveries and therefore exercise was out of the question. Now I’ve found my metabolism is slow and I’m always feeling tired. I kept putting it down to not getting enough sleep but things haven’t improved since my youngest started sleeping through the night. I would love to have the energy to begin exercising, I just get tired at the thought of it. Of course, courtesy of age I know it will be harder for me to shed the post pregancy belly and thighs. Also, I need a menu (or diet) that is family friendly. I don’t want to be cooking 2 meals – one for me and one for everyone else. I don’t want to be sitting down to cold salads while everyone else is eating a scrumptious winter warming casserole. A diet that means I can eat what I normally eat, but following your programme also help me shed some unwanted body fat, would make me a yummy 40yr old mummy indeed!
