Hm… So, less = more = less = loss ;o)
My main man CB-tastic just got in town today and shortly after his arrival we both sat down to a HUGE dinner full of secret fat-burning ingredient foods.
A few things you should know:
1. CB-tastic is Craig Ballantyne. DUH.
2. I’m releasing a new program called The Huge Dinner Diet tomorrow. It involves huge dinners. It also involves fat loss.
Like, LOTS of fat loss.
How much fat loss? Take your body weight and divide it by three.
Now multiply it by a BILLION.
That much.
3. Secret ingredient foods are by far the best fat burning foods you can possibly eat. In fact, here’s a list of the foods we included in our HUGE dinner tonight, each of them containing the magic “secret ingredient”:
- Filet Mignon
- Spinach
- Apples
- Blueberries
- Cranberries
- Cherry Tomatoes
- Fresh Mozzarella
- Olive Oil
- Balsamic Vinegar
- Carrots
- Broccoli
- Cauliflower
- Blue Cheese Crumbles
- Wheatberries
- Walnuts
- Pumpkin Seeds
I didn’t lie when I said the dinner was huge. I also didn’t lie when I said dinners of this size are part of a new rapid fat loss diet I developed, The Huge Dinner Diet, due out tomorrow. And I didn’t lie when I said that ALL of these foods are made up of secret ingredients.
Do you know what secret ingredient all of these foods have in common?
Simple: ALL of these foods have only ONE ingredient – the food they are.
Broccoli is made up of broccoli – that’s it.
The ingredient list for raw walnuts? Raw walnuts.
Hey, what’s in those cherry tomatoes? Oh, I know! Cherry tomatoes!
The absolute best fat-burning foods are one-ingredient foods — whole foods that contain only one ingredient.
They’re natural. They’re not processed. They contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, and more…in their natural form.
Many folks ask me to analyze their diets and I find that they’re full of highly processed, crapola foods. If it comes in a box, throw it out. Instead, try this for just one week:
Eat only natural, unprocessed one-ingredient foods: meats, fruits, vegetables, oils, nuts, legumes, and seeds.
See how much better you feel. See how much better you LOOK.
How about you? How many one-ingredient foods are in YOUR diet today? Will you join me in eating only one-ingredient foods this week?

I’m curious – what’s your take on Kashi cereals? Both as a source of fiber and a good source of nutrients.
I realize most cereals are complete dead-zones, nutritionally speaking; does the same hold true for Kashi?
I use low-carb, high-protein shakes for a snack before bedtime in the belief that protein digestion through the night helps to keep burning calories while I sleep, and to replenish the protein to the muscles… Are you saying that processed supplements like whey protein isolates with milk are a problem?
The real thing is that since I read this on one article form Joel (the main subject was another, but the idea was there somewhere) I have been doing it, and the results are really great. Eating whole foods (and mixing them) is not only good for the health, but DELICIOUS! I’m into the “cooking experiment” every time I can, and using whole foods has been a full revelation: “Simple” ingredients make fantastic recipes, and not only that… they are healty!
A simple concept, not to mention how tasty it sounds. Easy enough to remember and….. I reckon I could even get my family to eat it too, which means that they won’t be hatching an evil plan to sabotage my clean eating like they often do!
If you eat a bunch of one-ingredient foods in the same meal, it’s not one ingredient anymore. Your stomach mixes them up. Or, do you eat this dinner all day long, and eat each food 20 minutes from the next one? I don’t get it!
I’ve been doing the Leangains style intermittent fasting for more than a month now, I guess this has some similarities with that. Since I’m training at the late afternoon this really makes sense for me. I fast until noon then eat the bulk of my calories around my workout, and this way I can have a satisfying meal after the workout, it feels better than having 200-300 calorie small meals spread during the day, and it must be better for nutrient partitioning.
I am excited to try this out! So far your ideas are working and I lost 9 lbs.
Have been introducing whole foods since last December and have been receiving tons of compliments “you look great” “your skin looks so good”. Lunch today – snap peas, cucumbers, cauliflower, bell peppers, cherry tomatoes, carrots, hummus and olive and sun dried tomato tapenaude with olive oil. MMMmmm…colourful, fresh, crunchy and tasty! Delicious!
Hi! I jst wana knw if I take creatine, is it effects on my sex power, coz I have taken cretine (pro lab) n I feel my sex power a bit less nw, kindly reply
And all of those foods taste awesome!
Yes, it isn’t rocket science is it. Don’t eat stuff that contains things you can’t pronounce!
Hahaha soooo awwsum u only need 1 ingredient for fat losss I m suprised I hav got the knowledge but now need to put it in practice thnz joel marion u a super star!
Totally agree with you on the one ingredient foods! I take recipes from Isabel De Los Rios for dinners and they are delicious. I cheat one day a week and find that when I do this I feel terrrible after the meals. I suffer from IBS and find that processed foods added to the problem, so I am trying to stray away from them. Back onto the recipes from Isabel, I never even thought about it but the recipes are one ingredient foods! Duh, of course they would be. You are very well educated in knowing how to keep one on the healthy path and one ingredient food dinners would be great! Thanks for the informational post! Take Care, Cindy =)
Thanks for the great list, I love my food and with fresh ingredients you can make the most fantastic meals. Salads don’t have to be boring and I have started to use balsmic vinegar as a dressing and it tastes great.I have never heard of wheatberries before where would I get them?
Olive oil lemon juice and fresh garlic is also a great fresh dressing to put on salads and adding some fresh basil leaves also gives a great taste. Look forward to finding out more about the huge dinner diet.
Wow, this covers “eating clean,” and “breaking out of the box” in a simple, easy to remember way. I’ve honestly never heard it put so well or succinctly before. One ingredient foods…what a perfect way to sum it up. I’ll remember this…and it’ll definitely help me on my way! Thanks Joel
Hi there, thankyou for reminding me of the very simple but absolutely true fact that eating whole, untampered foods is the wasy forward for EVERYONE. I kinda lost my way over the last we while and developed craving for JUNK that I never used to have, all because I was not living well on real food. Thanks for the kick up the butt!!!! xxx
My Grandma who was born in Italy was very “old fashioned” which carried over to her dietary habits. Ultimately she lived to a healthy 99. I would definitely attribute much of that to this style of eating. All home-made not processed healthy whole foods.
So simple but true! The one thing that this cuts out, of course, is BREAD! Very difficult to do, especially if you live in France. However, this immediately cuts out a load of other stuff like jams etc. And to ‘fill up’, you have to eat a lot of ‘real foods’, which fuel your body, instead of clogging it up; which can only be good for you.
I’ve done a raw food diet for a month and I felt so good… and lost a load of weight. It was very difficult though as I love chicken & beef and I had to go without it.
Still, the idea of going back to basics really is, so simple yet so intelligent.
When we look at the rise of diseases over the past 50 years or so, how can we possibly say we are doing something right? There are more cancer cases, more obesity, etc. Surely this must have something to do with the preservatives and other additives that we are consuming in masses every day.
I am certainly going to give this a try, though I will miss eating pasta and bread!
wow thank you soo much for your article! I
Joe, I’ve been eating one ingredient foods for quite a while now and have been steadily losing weight. It’s amazing how you can combine them for sensational meals that stick with you and kill those nasty old cravings for “bad stuff”!! I’ve found that soaking your almonds over night makes them much more easily digested so they’ve become a staple snack during the day. I also grind my almonds for almond butter to dip an apple in during the afternoon! I’d be interested to see your new diet as dinner is still my main meal of the day. Thanks for all the great tips!
The only box I like my food to come in is the one I carry from the grocers. Mmmmm… Thanks Joel, you’re an inspiration.
Sounds great. I started eating whole foods and eliminating processed foods about a 6 weeks ago and have seen a big change in my body and my mood. Plus- a stubborn spot of psoriasis that no medication could touch has vanished. Who knew it could be that simple?
