I need to lose 30 pounds so I don’t have to start a diabetes prevention medication program for the rest of my life.

So far what I’ve learned from you has made a huge difference in how I think of diet and exercise working together. I’ve been running and weight training for awhile now and could never get rid of that last bit of fat hiding my abs. It probably was because I thought I could eat whatever I wanted. I think that if I got the chance to really take advantage of all the knowledge, advice, and helpful tools you have created, that I would finally be able to reach that goal of a lean ripped body. I will admit I don’t have much more weight to lose but, I have been saying that forever. I would love to say, I’ve finally made it. Thanks Joel!

It’s a given fact that I want to look great, feel confident, be fit and fix my metabolism, but the reason why I NEED that information you have is that I’m really hooked on your exercise and eating philosphies, how you have to deplete your carb/fat ‘storage cups’ before a cheat day through really difficult workouts/exercises, how you have to do CERTAIN EXERCISES on CERTAIN EATING PLAN days and how you justify the reasons for doing those types of exercises (eg. muscle building workouts on cheatdays because of the amount of carbs you’ve built up). I’ve also tried other eating plans but have always failed due to cheating too much, I didn’t know what the point was in having cheat days on other peoples eating plans, but through your updates, I now know why.
All in all, it’s your philosophies that hook me, they’re different to me, but they make sense, hopefully I’ll get to do it for free

Even though it seemed to me that I’d been fighting the “battle of the bulge” for most of my life, I realise now that it has really only been the last 9 months that have really been in earnest. It was about last September, in 2011, when I had to retire early from my career as a teacher of Japanese and German, as the auto-immune disease I’d been suffering from had forced me into a cyclic period of constant surgery and recovery, which wasn’t good for me or my pre-University students.
I had been on a high dosage of pain killers, since I was 29, which was starting to cause me other problems. Things were tough and I felt as though there was little control left for me with regard to my body and my health.* {It was the 3rd knee replacement surgery on my right knee that sealed the deal: my body wasn’t going to “bounce back” any more; it was time I learned to nurture and treat this poor shell of mine with love and respect.
For the past 6 years, I had gradually gained more and more weight, so that by the age of 53 I weighed 115 kilos! I am tall, but not that tall! This was the worst thing I could do to a body where the joints were losing cartilage at an astonishing rate. Drugs could only mask the pain for a short period; what would I do if I became so ill that even the strongest dose of morphine wouldn’t work any more? Hours of research turned into days and weeks… it was clear that I needed to lose weight quickly and effectively and ensure that I wouldn’t fall back into a yoyo pattern of dieting.
In addition, I started reading also about anti-aging issues.}* This wasn’t an attempt to regain my youth for purely reasons of vanity. It just would be nice to enjoy a bush walk or an overnight camping session without dosing myself up on various pills.*
{I started to learn about protein as a priority nutrient as well as anti-oxidants, minerals, amino acids and probiotics. Yes, I had been starving myself nutritionally for years.
I contacted Prograde in the USA (there certainly weren’t companies with such a wonderful record in Oz at that time, although things are improving!!{see Earthstar} and along with their recommendations ordered nearly AUD$1,000+ of supplements as well as a super juicer, a George Foreman grill and subscribed to several websites who were promoting a high protein, low carb regime along with the required supplements.}*
*It was close to 3 months before I started to believe I could face the scales. I hadn’t dared try them out yet. My daughter urged me on by saying that she was starting to see my cheekbones and why hadn’t I worn those jeans before? It was 3 weeks until Xmas and I’d lost 25 kilos!! What a Xmas present! And I hadn’t been hungry once! I ate for Australia, but it was food that nourished my body: fish, chicken, steak, eggs, cheese, salads and green vegetables. The only vegetables I refrained from were potatoes, although I allowed myself creamy garlic mash at least once a week when I finally lost the 30th kilo!*
{But it’s not over yet! I’m setting up a website here in Australia to help others like me who need for the sake of mere survival to lose weight and to look at their body(ies) differently. My only exercise was walking(my dog loved it!) and I spent hours trying out recipes, as most of the good websites are American and ingredients are often hard to source.}* But New Year’s Eve was spent dining on tiger prawns cooked with feta cheese and tomatoes and strawberries with King Island(read premium provenance) vanilla bean yoghurt and even a glass or two of Tasmanian sparkling wine!! As Kate Moss opined:” Nothing tastes as good as SKINNY feels!”
My next challenge is :”Where do I go now?” My body needs a new metabolic challenge and losing the next 10 – 20 kilos I’d feel better off without, requires a renewed concerted effort. So I can then share your work with Australians here who need inspiration, I need your help, Joel. And I’m no plagiarist. I’ll make sure all your work and ideas are correctly referenced and annotated. Joel, I’m only too aware that this is 3x the length you asked for. It’s a big problem of mine: verbosity OR “generosity of spirit” as I call it.Perhaps if you’d like to delete the paragraphs I’ve asterisked, it’ll be fairer.

I really want this programme as I have struggled with weight loss for a very long time. Upon reading all the updated , I know that this program will be the best remedy for my problem. I really want this programme and to start lossing weight the right way and keep the weight off. From reading the updates, I learnt that by dieting, I have killed my metabolic rate, I’m so happy with the notion of cheat day! And with the depleting idea, I would be able to enjoy my cheat day while bringing back my leptin level up.

I’m already planning my menu for my first cheat day!!! I don’t know if I’m going overboard with my menu…..pizza, fried things, lot of desserts, chocolate, a lot of “white” carbs and a special Puertorican food called “mofongo” made with fried plantain… mmmm!! I am an expat Englishman living in Philippines. At 52 I have travelled the world and overindulged. I find myself with 7 kids, 5 of whom are step-kids. I try hard to give all my family good advice but I find myself with not only weight management problems of my own but also I see my loved ones getting fat and not only my family but my friends as well. My friends I worry about the most because, like me they have succumbed to the expat lifestyle and I can see them dying young through ignorance.

Hi, I am the mother of two little boys (2 and 4 yrs) full of energy :) I am turning 40 in Sept and I would like to have my “old” body back and if possible even a better body. I want this awesome revolutionary system not only for myself but also my wife. I am 47 and still train as club athlete but have always found it hard if not impossible to shed the weight I need to be really competitive. I am always reading research on nutrition, and new research on exercise regimes, leptin manipulation etc, and have read all your recent advice……………….Well, I reckon you’ve nailed it!!

I had a baby last year, and have lost most of the weight, but still am not toned like I used to be. I work out hard every day, and eat right most of the time, but still look just ok. I want to be ripped as I feel I should be for all my working out!

After reading all your emails and watching your videos, this seems to be the best weight loss program I have seen. I’ve tried many over the years. I’m 55, just been diagnosised w/scoliosis & been in lots of pain over the years. I’ve tried many weight loss programs over the last 20 years & always seem to gain it all back. Last summer I was made redundant and spent 9 weeks jobless. Instead of moping about I decided to join the gym. I soon became addicted to my new exercising lifestyle as it always gave me the ‘pick me up’ I needed and made me feel more positive about the future. By the end of the 9 wks I decided to take control of my future, I wanted to know more about the body – how to get fit and understand nutrition, so I daringly signed up to a nutrition and personal trainer course to become a PT. Whilst doing 2 jobs I have listened, read and taken all my exams but I know I still have a lot to learn and am missing vital information that I know the program you have devised stores. I am disabled and mostly in a wheelchair, so i have am overweight and i am desperate to lose the fat on my stomach. I have tried certain exercises such as press ups, but to no avail. I do not eat much. Please help. Thanks. Karen

I’ve lost 40 pounds over the last 2 1/2 months. I still have 100 pounds to go. I have read a lot of information and done all kinds of dieting from low carb to carb cycling to low fat to eat what you feel like as long as…..I need something that is going to be easy to follow, and that will keep me engaged. I need something that will be “real world” and I can follow even after I have achieved my goals. I need something my wife and kid’s can follow. We need help.

TO HELP MY FATHER! Well, this will not be JUST for me, but also for my dad. He has been strugglin a long time, mostly because its in the family. He is not overweight, but still to big for his health. He has already had a couple of small heart attacks, been on and off work for a couple of years and as you can understand – it cant be easy for my mom… He has tried a weight loss camp, but for no good. His arteries to his heart still blocks up… This is maybe worth a shot, for him, as this may be the answer! I hope this can be the start to his recovery.

Hi Joel, it’s the same cycle over and over again….I try to be “good” and I manage pretty well for a few days. Of course the “good” days all depend on the diet di jour. SOmetimes it’s no/low carb, sometimes it’s no sugar, sometimes it’s 6 meals a day, sometimes it’s NO meals a day. My metabolism must look like a road map…but with no destination! Of course I give into temptation by day 3 or 4. I’d LOVE to learn how to incorporate “cheat days” without them turning into “cheat MONTHS!!!” I do exercise quite a bit, but I would LOVE to learn how to make that exercise work with the nutrition you put forth, to get the healthiest rockin’ body I can! I need help losing diabetes, GERD, depression, and over 100 lbs!

I’m hoping to get back on track with my weight loss goals. I believe that your new program may be what I need to get back on track. All the means I’ve used in the past 4 years to lose weight are no longer working and I have 30 lbs more to lose for my goal and a chance to avoid surgery on my knees and shoulders.

I need this program ASAP because I’m tired of yo-yo dieting. I need to be in the best shape of my life for my kids and myself. I train hard but don’t see results, because I don’t have the nutrition part figured out yet. I’m sure the program would teach me the secrets to fat loss. I’m skinny fat but with xfatloss I’m sure I can be skinny fit in 25 days. I set a goal of reaching my goal weight by my birthday (May 27th) so the program would be perfect. I could see myself at my goal weight by the deadline with the extreme fat loss. I don’t have very much weight to loss but it is the most stuburn fat. I need a resolution to get rid of it for good.
