This program is perfect for me at this point in my life becuase I have been over weight ever since i was a child. I have 3 children and have no time to go to the gym. At the age of nearly 60, it is more and more difficult to maintain a proper body weight and fitness level. Weight has always been an issue for me since I was a teenager (I am now 26), but the hardest part about trying to lose weight the last 5 years has been the fact that I have been in kidney failure due to a rare genetic disorder. In addition, i have been on some tough meds, and my mid-section has received the brunt of many of my surgeries and medications. I am 49. I have three daughters that go to the gym. I live out in the country, but I work in the city. I don’t have time after work to go to a gym. I don’t have the money for a membership. I am going to go to the gym next week where I work. It is free and I have to come to work an hour later. Therefore, I can leave at the same time I always did, go work out, and be to work on time. I gained weight when I had my children and have never been able to get it back off. I mentally feel like I am in the best years of my life and am trying to get my body to follow suit. Trying to think how to make my words stand out so you will choose me (me me me! choose me! choose me! pretty please!). Some facts… I am 5’4”, 46, and as of this morning, 227 lbs. Yup (yikes). Needless to say, no matter what my frame is, that is way too much. I have hypothyroidism & am just avoiding falling into pre-diabetes by having a balanced diet. My elbow is a bit wonky, & I had meniscus & ACL ligament reconstruction operations last winter (to fix an old skiing injury plus a recent injury sustained while working out with a crap personal trainer!) – so I am working hard on rehab & getting fit(ter).
While I have a “delicate layer of flab” everywhere, the bulk of my fat is located at the top of my thighs and around my stomach – it is like a flotation device around my middle :( . I have reasonable core muscles and muscular thighs/calves, but I can’t for the life of me shift the tummy flab despite working out.
I want to be fitter. I want to be leaner. I want to fall in love with my body again, and not think it is an alien person looking back at me in the mirror. To put it bluntly… I need your help to get it right! And if you chose me, that would be such a positive encouragement to me that you believe that, together, it is actually possible to change things. I’m 5″ 2″ and weigh 245…Never did I think I would allow myself to becom so overweight. I have developed high blood pressure, diabetes runs in my family (my dad was just diagnosed with it last year) and my belly has never been this big… I understand that when you carry belly fat, you are carrying fat around your internal organs as well. I think this program would be perfect for me because for my whole life I have had the skinny fat syndrome, I had no confidence at all, almost everybody at school would make fun of me because of how I looked, and I couldn’t defend my self. It’s been like this for I would say 20 years, and I am DYING to get in shape.
