What Are YOUR Goals?

Posted by Joel Marion

At random, Dan and I are going to GIVE AWAY 16-weeks of personal TWO-on-1 coaching to someone who leaves a comment below on this blog post.  All you need to do is read below and reply with your 16-week goal to be eligible.

This is WAY over $2000 value and you’re going to get your own personal nutrition coach AND your own trainer and life coach…100% FREE if you win.

Read below and respond in the comment section.

Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.

Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?

What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?

I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.

Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them.  Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”

Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.

(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)

Talk to you in the comments section!

Joel

P.S. Get your 16-week goal in writing! Believe me, responding below is going to be HUGE for your accountability (and ultimately, your success).

I have not been doing so well as I contacted food poisoning and unable to get my strength back; any suggestions?

I am 48 years old and have had a stressful last couple of years. I used to workout with weights and made a point of taking care of myself. The stress over the last two years has taken a toll and I fell into bouts of depression which have basically eliminated my drive to care for myself. Mentally, I am aware of this – it is the physical “just do it” that I am struggling with. I am attending a Personal Best seminar in August and hope that, along with your program, I will get my “mojo” back. I want to lose about 20 lbs and between 5 to 8 % BF. My goal is to feel like I did in my 30’s when I hit my 49th birthday in November.

My goal would be to lose 50 pounds.

My goal for the next 16 weeks is to lose the last 15 lbs ( I have already lost 30 lbs thanks to Xtreme Fat Loss program) and to reduce my body fat % by 6%. My goal starting my weight loss in January was to fit into my wedding dress by my 25th anniversary in August (just to say I could). I have also recently starting a running program (I have never run much since I have asthma). My running goal is to be able to complete a 5K in June 2011 ( a bit outside of the 16 weeks, but I still wanted to put it out there). So, I guess my 16 week goal towards this is to reduce the walk portion of the run 1 min/walk 1 min to run 1 min/walk 30 seconds.

To stay in shape, continue running and add some consistent cross-training in to make me faster.

My goal is to lose 35lbs with no muscle gain.

Hi Joel,

I’m on cycle two of the Xtreme Fat Loss Diet, so goal one is to drop my body fat to 13%. I was at about 17% when I started and have already lost 3 inches (total body)! Amazing!

Fitness Goals:
50 push ups
10 unassisted pull ups
deadlift 105 lbs (my bodyweight) for 8 reps

getting close! XFLD strongly recommended!

I just turned 37 in June and my 16 week goal is to lose 25 lbs of fat and gain lean muscle. I will reduce body fat from 29% to 18-19%, especially going into the winter months. I had been hovering around 140’s, however, in January, I got lazy (stopped working out and wasn’t as disciplined with my eating) so I gained 10 lbs..WHOA! With the roll out of XFLD and Flavia’s program, I have re-focused on my goals and have already reduced my body fat!

My aim is to lose 20lbs in the next 16 weeks. I will watch my food consumption, take my dogs for long walks and swim

I want to get into the best shape ever. I want my wife to say, “Damn, you look Hot!!!! Let’s stay home tonight!” Right know I have 33% body fat. So I will need to lose 60lbs and pack on some muscle. I am giving myself until May 1, 2012.

I’m currently on Adam and Ryan’s 6 week Shapeshifter program with a goal to lose 15 lbs of fat and gain 2 lbs of muscle. After that, my plan is to stabilize my metabolism and fitness by getting back into biking and running for pleasure and not competition as added lifestyle activities. Add yoga once a week, as well as try a new activity (like rock climbing or roller blading) once a month. I also have a goal of cleaning out & organizing my basement and garage and having a garage sale by the end of September.

At 5’7 and 197 LBS, i want to reduce my bf% from 11% to 5-7% and see definitive definition in my abs.

My goal for the next 16 weeks is to decrease my body fat and increase muscle mass. I have been working out for 2 weeks (as well as eating clean) and have so far lost 3 pounds and 1 inch from my waist.

16 weeks from today is November 1st…my goal is to be down 50 pounds by then! Starting by learning to eat less…then want to work into upping the physical activity and maybe the XFLD program…I’ve learned from the past that I always fail when I try to do it all at once…hoping this time gradual improvements will be the key! Glad to have any words of advice…I’m sure I’ll need it :-)

Hi,
I am 165lbs and I would like to go to 190lbs with the least fat gain possible.

Hey Joel! Another great post as always, and I hope you make time for some fun with Vince and Flavia when they’re down! =)

My goal over the next 16 weeks, (oddly enough my birthday is exactly 16 weeks and 1 day) is to lose 25lbs of body fat, and run a sub 90minute half marathon. I know that the excessive slow-go cardio isn’t the best way to tackle my goal, so I’m hoping to increase my speed with HIIT and by training at the anaerobic threshold 3x a week, and just doing distance runs 1x per week.

Also, in the spirit of sharing, I want an epic ass. Yay!

Hi! My 16 week goal is to continue to develop my interest in health, fitness and nutrition. I am 155cm, 87kg and about 36%BF and realise I need to do something about it. So, in 16 weeks my health goal is to be 77-75kg, going to the gym three or more times a week (love weight training, want to start going to zumba classes). I have the wedding of my ‘god sister’ in April next year to get prepared for – as I want to be at my best for it (goal weight is 60-55kg, 22-19%BF), toned, firm, healthy (not sallow and droopy/saggy). Should be good to focus on, as Spring is my favourite time of the year to train! Hmmm, I think some cooking classes are in order to help me through!!

just had bf redone today and am down to 19.1% with the poliquin 12 site method, I’m still grinning. In 16 weeks I’ll have about 6 weeks worth of physion and rehab on shoulder then do the 25 day rapid fat loss transformation followed up by nick nilssons metabolic surge fat loss or vince and lees 3 week muscle building strategy depending on how my shoulder has healed. Keep up the great work folks, gabe ireland

My ultimate goal is to lose 50 more pounds. I’m already down 113 pounds in 9 months. So I guess my 16 week goal is to lose 25 pounds. I also want to tone up: upper and lower body.

Hi Joel,
After 2 kids and a very difficult /marriage and divorce, I am at my heaviest (230.) I have started reading you information and I like it! My goal for the next 16 weeks is to loose 25 pounds. That would be a terrific goal for me!

hi & thanks

in 16 weeks i would like to lose 1″ to 1.5″ off of my waist and lose ~10 pounds of fat. i carry fat around my belly and would rather have a more hourglass figure.

I am 62 years old, 5’9″, 150 lbs. Goal is to lose belly fat below the belly button (the lower ab area). Going on Caribbean cruise 17 – 24 Sep and our 10th anniversary will during the cruise – so I want to look the best I can, especially since we will snorkle and do the beach scene! Will start the Shapeshifter program on 26 July when we gt back from Florida (St. Augustine Beach). In the mean time, I do circuits of five exercises using the DEFL model (usually 4 rounds) and incorporate intervals with sprinting on a cellerciser and doing 20 lb KB swings in 30 sec work/30 sec rest interval for about 6 – 10 sets.

I am not that interested in the weight as I am more so interested in the shape. I am thin boned and realize that I won’t gain / bulk a lot. Guess you can say I am more after the lean mean look ;-D

I just finished the XFLD on Friday (that was my final Protein Only day). I lost a total of 5 inches and 5 pounds (not entirely happy with the minimal amount of pounds lost). I am definitely stronger and more toned, although not at my goal weight. I did finally break the 130 pound mark though for the first time in almost 2 years, and am again in the high 120s. Very exciting.

My 16-week goal is to lose another 10 pounds. 16 weeks puts me at the 1st of November – that seems so far away. I would like this weight-loss to be fat, obviously…

@ Lorna:

Lorna – I can empathize with you, I’ve been hanging in a very similar place. What has helped me is to stop beating myself up about not being as motivated as I think I should be and instead just acknowledge the feelings and try to work through them while making small steps towards my goals. The emotional baggage does impact the physical so breaking that down will really help get the mojo back
