What Are YOUR Goals?

Posted by Joel Marion

At random, Dan and I are going to GIVE AWAY 16-weeks of personal TWO-on-1 coaching to someone who leaves a comment below on this blog post.  All you need to do is read below and reply with your 16-week goal to be eligible.

This is WAY over $2000 value and you’re going to get your own personal nutrition coach AND your own trainer and life coach…100% FREE if you win.

Read below and respond in the comment section.

Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.

Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?

What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?

I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.

Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them.  Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”

Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.

(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)

Talk to you in the comments section!

Joel

P.S. Get your 16-week goal in writing! Believe me, responding below is going to be HUGE for your accountability (and ultimately, your success).

I am 63 years old . I’ve recovered from a CVS (stroke) in 1990.Doctor said I had to reduce muscle mass and stiop smoking( pack and half to two a day). I’m 5″ 2″
tall and I weigh 248 lbs. today. In 1990 I was 168 lbs. and very little fat. I am a retired sheet metal journeyman. I started out as a 125 lb. apprentice. At the end of my 4 year apprenticeship I weighed 158lbs. I looke like a scaled down loub Farigno. When you bend, drag, cut and wrestle steel all day you get strong or you get out. Anybody who ever did 12 gage decking job knows what I mean. 15 or 20 stories up with a 40mph wind whipping at the sheet as walk along a 4″ wide steel bar joist.
Afte 33 years of this kind of work you are strong like bull ,but no in great shape. I kept on smoking and in1998 I had a M.I. that killed my left ventrical. I returned to work 8 months later, not smoking and they put me in the fabrication shop. I starte gaining fat weight at that point, but was not worried because all the
guys who quit smoking said the gained weight at first. They were trying to help the old guy by keeping me in a warm dry ,no climb making duct fittings job.
After 4 years of easy duty I blossomed up to 170 lbs., but that extra 12 -15 lbs. were fat. I got sent out on a 14 story ,wide open job in 10 to 20 degree weather. I blew my knees out after three weeks . I never worked another day in the trade. I didn’t apply for compensation ,i just aasked them to lay me off so I could heal up. I waited 5 months to see a specialist . He came from the Pittsburg Steelers medical team,so I figured he was probably great with knee injuries. The guy ruined my knees . I’ve been almost crippled by him He was fired before my recuperation was half way done. I don’t know where he went ,but he hurt a lot of people. There was a class-action suit started ,but I andmany others would not singn on. I just wanted to stop his butcher job surgeries, not feed a bunch of lawyers.
I have been going to the YMCA since my bypass. I have to lose this weight. At 5′ 2″ I got the mass to play linebacker in the NFL and with a little work I could be a center. The added weight is even more taxing on my knees. I’ve talked to 2 specialist and they say that knee replacement would be a waste until I dropped down into the 150lbs range. My weight woukd decrease the longevity and create more surgical adjustments ,yadda,.yadda,OK! I’m morbidly obese, it’s gona kill me and I don’t like the way I look either.
My workouts are often more damaging than helpful. I do try but everybody seems to forget that it isn’t your age it’s the mileage. I’ve been rode hard and put up wet many times in my life.

I am 63 years old, 5’10” tall and weigh 175. I’ve lost 15 pounds in the last year and would like to lose an additional 8 pounds more while improving muscle tone particularly in the legs.

In March 2011 I will be 52 and I want to be the weight I was before I had 4 children. That would be 135 pounds. I want to tone and firm up my muscles and build strong bones.
I eat quality organic food and am very health conscious. I eliminated sugars from my diet a year ago, and I do not miss it at all. I also do not eat any more processed food, it is not even in my house.

Joel, i am 50 years old, 6′-2″ and 224 lbs. I have not exercised in the last 2 years. My 16 week goal is to get in shape by gaining muscle, increase my cardio capacity and not have to take blood pressure medication. Ideally, I would like to be around 200 lbs. with muscle.

Compete in America’s largest x-country ski race called The American Birkebeiner. Draws around 8,000 skiers and is 31 miles (50 K) in length. My goal is to get back into wave 1 – the fastest skiers after the International elite. I just missed making wave 1 last year by about 2 minutes.

I am working to lose 19 pounds in the next 16 weeks. I started at 156 in April and got to 128 in October. Worked out daily, except Sunday…walking between 3 and 7 miles, went on hikes, and weight trained. Want to gain muscle as well as lose fat. My progress in weight I can lift tells me I am gaining muscle. Went on a fantastic trip to S Africa and ate like royalty for 2 weeks…regained 7 pounds. Presently I am 134#. I am using a combo of several nuturional plans. Curves, Jon Benson and yours. I have gotten several good tips from you. Hope you will ask us to check back with results in 16 weeks. End of March? Thanks. Nancy

Hello again Joel,
I started on your Cheat Thin Diet a few weeks ago , but being 81 yrs old the body sort of gave up and I haven’t exercised in the last three weeks because I didn’t “feel good”.

Quite a few exercises are difficult for me, but I will get back to whatever it takes.I started on your CYWT at 213# and have gone down to 207, so I have a long way to go ( 50+ lbs ). Any ideas?? Mary West

1. Maintain 3-4 workouts per week during my busy work season which is also a heavy travel season where my primary gym will be the hotel gym.
2. Choose healthy options at restaurants while traveling for work. In addition to this, be mindful of the portions.
3. Be more disciplined as far as diet goes. Mainly, I need to cut down on sugary foods, ice cream especially. :P
4. Lose 15lbs of body fat – I would ultimately like to be in the range of 15-19% body fat; currently at 24%.

Hey guys, You always have great information for all of us who want to get in better shape, I used to follow the workouts that you’d post all the time during my MMA training. I’m 23 and a 300 lbs. now, and have reached this because of an injury and being careless about my health. I recently started to gather all the info from you guys and have started hitting the gym and getting back into proper eating habits. I know you guys will be there through the process to reach my goal of losing 80 lbs and reaching my ideal weight of 220 lbs. You guys are awesome.

My goal is to gain muscle mass and lower my body fat while increasing LBM and strength. I’m looking to fine tune a healthy, active, and sustainable lifestyle…I’m not looking to go on a diet, but really get my life on the best track and hopefully attain the body of my dreams at the same time.
