What Are YOUR Goals?

Posted by Joel Marion

At random, Dan and I are going to GIVE AWAY 16-weeks of personal TWO-on-1 coaching to someone who leaves a comment below on this blog post.  All you need to do is read below and reply with your 16-week goal to be eligible.

This is WAY over $2000 value and you’re going to get your own personal nutrition coach AND your own trainer and life coach…100% FREE if you win.

Read below and respond in the comment section.

Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.

Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?

What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?

I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.

Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them.  Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”

Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.

(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)

Talk to you in the comments section!

Joel

P.S. Get your 16-week goal in writing! Believe me, responding below is going to be HUGE for your accountability (and ultimately, your success).

In the words of Travis Bickle: December Eighth, “I gotta get in shape. Too much sitting has ruined my body. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on there will be 50 pushups each morning, 50 pullups. There will be no more pills, no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on will be total organization. Every muscle must be tight.”

I’m 28 and mother of 3. In 16 weeks I am lean (er), 27″ waist, 36″ hips, & 21″ thighs. Inches have melted off my body simply and natrually.

I am near my goal. Only two pounds to go. But of course, they’re the most stubborn.

lol… I got Dr. K’s email first…

The short version of what I wrote there is: I want to ease my arthritis, increase range of motion, and build strength. Specifically, I want to be able to reach a shelf above my head or bend down to pick up objects from the floor without being in excruciating pain.

I can’t help the bad genetics. I can help what action I take.

My sixteen week goal to lose 20 pounds to reach 150 pounds. To achieve this I must work out or do cardio 5 to 6 days every week.

My goal is to accomplish both that you mentioned (lose body fat and gain muscle), but my true goal in the end of all this is to become a healthier person – physically, mentally and emotionally and bring about peace in all of myself. :)
I believe that my part of my goal to lose body fat and gain muscle will bring me so much closer to achieving my overall goal – therefore it is important part of the goal.
Currently I have lost 27 lbs since last April already and I still have another 30 to go. I am a member of the FT program and I have found this a great help in acheiving my goals, but must admit fell off track during the summer. My overall goal for the next 16 weeks is lose at least 20 lbs, but more so to gain muscle and become healthier and stronger and more at peace with my whole self. Always open though to more help and suggestions.

I am 59 years old, I teach 4 hours of extreme water aerobics per week and I work with a personal trainer one day. I still battle with the middle age spread. I want to lose 10 pounds in the next 16 weeks. Adding your program along with what I do will be the ticket!

Want to lose 10 pounds and continue to build muscle

I am about 5′ 6″ and about 175lb, want to lose about 16 lb, but have fallen in the ice and sprained my ribs and have bursitis at the moment, I suspect my weight problems may stem from a lifetime of skipping meals and not eating for up to a fortnight if someone upset me since the age of 18, but our gp’s nurse rubbishes that idea, and said if I ate less I’d lose weight, I still have to remind myself to eat, as not eating had become an ingrained habit (from UK)

I actually have a 20 week goal which in to lose 60 pounds. I know I can do it; I’ve done it before;)
I will remain focused on exercise and nutrition, and would like to be running outside come spring 2011.

I need to once and for all lose 35 pounds. I am in my mid-40’s but do not want to look like I am! Beyond that, I need to feel good about myself. This weight is affecting so many aspects of my life. The thought of not losing it is too depressing.

My job as an actor requires me to remove my shirt. In the past that has not been a negative…BUT I want it to become a POSITIVE.
My goal is to get applause when the shirt comes off! 10 lbs off and maintain my present muscle mass ought to do it!! 16 weeks baby lets go!!!!!

Hey Joel,

First off – thank you so much for your inspiring information all year long! Last year at this time, I was incredibly out of shape and in a pretty big funk. My weight was the only thing I thought about. I used to be in really great shape and 8% body fat. Then I turned 21 and things went downhill – it took me almost 4 years to realize that. Last year I made the goal to be more healthy. I ran a half marathon and got myself into relatively decent shape. Although I have toned up a lot – I’ve only lost about 10 pounds. My goal for this year is to lose 20 more lbs and get down to the weight I used to be. I take a bootcamp class 3x/week, and mix the other days up with weight training and double cardio.

Cheers to 2011!
Kim

Hi Joel,

Been following your program and advice now for some time, and have always felt intrigued by your techniques and explanations for how to get the results that you are proving (as well as other people sharing their stories), and have always thought about how I can implement such changes into my life.

I was a diamond drill helper for a time, and was pretty well in the best shape of my life; constantly active, able to eat healthy (money was definitely not an issue) and I was happy and really felt like I was on top of the world, and in fantastic shape. All that changed about 2 years ago, when an incident during a project transfer caused an injury to my back. Since that time, I have been scared to do much lifting or exercising due to the injury I sustained, and the constant feeling that it could happen again any time (I heard it all the time: “You hurt your back, it’ll never be the same and it’ll only be a matter of time before you blow it out again.”

But since that time, I had enough of feeling sorry for myself, and find myself with a not-so insignificant weight gain. I have started with simple exercises (core strengthening and what-have-you) to get myself back to at least some workable shape, and my goal over the next 16 weeks is to try and regain some of that strength I once had, and drop maybe about 20 lbs worth of fat that I had “earned” through my little holiday. In effect, with the tips and tricks that you have shared with me (and everyone else, of course) this will allow me to start to reach for my goals of being healthy again, and the rest of it will come quickly.. at least, that’s my new goal.

My goal within 16 weeks is to lose 20lbs of fat and to start putting on lean muscle. I want to be in shape and have more energy to do things. Also would like to drop two to three dress sizes going from a 12-14 to a 9-10.
