What Are YOUR Goals?

Posted by Joel Marion

At random, Dan and I are going to GIVE AWAY 16-weeks of personal TWO-on-1 coaching to someone who leaves a comment below on this blog post.  All you need to do is read below and reply with your 16-week goal to be eligible.

This is WAY over $2000 value and you’re going to get your own personal nutrition coach AND your own trainer and life coach…100% FREE if you win.

Read below and respond in the comment section.

Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.

Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?

What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?

I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.

Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them.  Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”

Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.

(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)

Talk to you in the comments section!

Joel

P.S. Get your 16-week goal in writing! Believe me, responding below is going to be HUGE for your accountability (and ultimately, your success).

16 week goal—- get down to 20% body fat. i am finally making the commitment to eating well. I have been doing metabolic training and can see huge gains in my strength but am not seeing the results because of my poor eating habits (stress eater). I will continue to increase muscle, loose fat and get down to 20% body fat. (pre twin pregnancy body fat) I am at 135 pounds and 27% bf right now. Huge goals for me as befoe babies I was eating perfectly to maintain my 120 pounds and 20% body fat.

@David – Hi David,

You sound like me. I’m 46 years old, 5′ 6″, weighing 225 lbs.
I have shed fat already and need to continue to reduce the fat and gain muscle. My goal for this summer is to get back into my frame and have people see the muscle, first. Already building muscle but the spare tire remains. Goo luck to you and everyone else on the ‘lean journey”.

My goals for the next 16 weeks:
Win the body transformation contest that I entered on 4/15/09 ~ it ends on 7/15/09.
Then from there I will continue eating the healthy meal plan set forth. One of the things I want to accomplish is to to lose 10 pounds and tighten and tone.

I don’t have a 16 weeks goal really , for the next 4 weeks I’ll focus on loosing about 5 kg and then I’ll focus on gaining strength and eventually mass.

Hi Joel,
I am a 29 yr old mother of 2. I am currently 5 ft. 7in. and 210. I have been yo-yo dieting for most of my live. I am looking to lose 35 lbs, gain a small amount of muscle and tone the rest of my body. I love your posts, they give me great insight on how to eat healthier without “dieting”. So far I have lost 8 lbs in 6 months. I would appreciate some help on where to find the energy to do my exercises. Being a mother of 2 (and one is Autistic) I find that when I have time to exercise I am too tired. I have tried every “diet pill” and “weightloss miricle” that i have come across. None worked. I know I could lose the weight on my own if I just had more energy. Please help.

Melissa

Joel:

I hope to put on 20 lbs of muscle in the next 16 weeks and more if possible. The ultimate goal is 225, but 250 sounds even better.

I have a few goals. It’s difficult for me to find time in the fall and spring to do a workout because I attend college part time and work full time. Between classes, homework and my job, time is scare. The semester ended mid May, and since then I have been trying to get my body used to doing something other than coming home from work and going to sleep.

I go to the college and use their stairmaster machine for 30 minutes a day. Unfortunately the college is only open 4 days a week during the summer (and I’d like to do something on those days the college is closed)

Last year I was diagnosed as diabetic, and weight loss was suggested to me. I’m 5 ft 2 in, 215 pds.

So, my goals are to lose weight, get a nifty looking set of abs, and try to do all of this before the fall semester starts in mid August. Whgile I do not know if that is a realistic timeframe for it, I still want to give it a shot. And even if I do not lose a lot of weight, at the least I will not be living a the life of a couch potatoe :)

As I am still nursing…my 16 week goal is simply to regain my old strength as I used to do power lifting :) But it will take longer than 16 weeks after being out of the gym for nearly a year.

I’m 40lbs. overweight and have been for 5 yrs. 8 yrs. ago I lost 55 lbs of
pregnancy weight in 4 months, I was 185lbs. at time of delivery, using the atkins diet and doing mostly cardio. At 42 yrs. old, I need a more realistic dietary approach and definitely need to build muscle to change my body shape. If I don’t start now it will only be harder as I get older. After 40 I started to crave sweets,
getting those cravings under control is a huge goal!

Hey Joel,

I’m 22 years old, 6’1″ and currently 200 lbs. I want to remove the rest of the flab that is on my stomach and tone up. I don’t necessarily want to be HUGE but I do want to look cut and have some lean muscle mass. I’m not sure whether or not it would be better to burn off my fat first and then start building muscle, or if it would be better to do them both at the same time (using your simultaneous method of course). And by better I mean faster.

Im 16 years old and i am currently 148lbs. My goal is to loose about 6lbs of body fat and pack on some mass to about 160lbs. My motivation for doing this is so i can join the Marine Corps. right out of high school, and also for sports reasons.
I weight train along with Military cathisnetics and cardio. I also play 3 sports a year.

My ultimate goal is to lose 45 pounds and to be the healthiest I can be.
My 16 week goal will be to lose 25 of those 45 pounds. I want to make life style changes so I don’t just lose weight and then gain it right back again.

I want to lose a little more body fat, but mostly gain muscle.

My goal is to get a six-pack once in my life! I’m 42 – bench 225, squat 240, deadlift 315 but the elusive six-pack is so difficult to achieve.

My goal within 16 weeks is to drop 10 lbs. and lose 3 % body fat to reach my goal weight. I am a very muscular woman so I want to just tone up the muscle not enlarge.

I am turning 40 later in the year and am planning on being in the best shape of my life. I am not so worried about the number on the scales so i am focussing more on building muscle and dropping fat.
4cms off thighs, 4 cms off waist, 10 cms off hips and dropping body fat % from 13.3% – 10% and to be able to run 10km in under 50mins.
Clean food, hard training and a positive mindset will see me finally achieve.
