Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?
What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?

My other goal is to adhere to this eating plan 100% of the time – because I can do it!!!

My goal is to lose 25 lbs. in 16 weeks. I have no excuse, I don’t work, I can’t find a job, I do fight wildland fires in the Summer. All we need are more paying fires. I like P90X if I can get off my lazy butt. I am 48 years old. Help me please.
Hi Joel,
I started exercising a year 1/2 ago because I wasn’t please on how I looked. When I started at the gym I weigh 150 lbs with a belly. I lost 25 lbs and now I weigh 142 lbs and I’m 47 years old. I want to loose the belly fat to reveal my abs. I can feel my abs but just that last layer of fat to loose. Do you have any suggestions.

I’m in my 50’s and it is easier to put on weight in my stage of life that lose it. So a BIG goal of mine is to tone my muscular body (less rolls) and lose weight, helping those summer clothes to fit more comfortably. To lose 5 kg would be great, even with the Christmas season upon us.
I’m 26 years old. My length is 1.72m and my weight is just under 80kg. I’ve been working out for quite a while, so I’ve made significant improvements in my body shape over the years and I’ve built up some good strength. I can bench about 120kg, so I’m not looking to lose that strength or muscle. I need to lose about 5-10kg of body fat, just to strip away the layers preventing a ripped body from being shown. My workouts consist of a bit of serious weight training, with some self-made circuit training/hybrid exercises (i.e. mixing slightly lighter weights, with body resistance training and some bursts of cardio inbetween, with no rest between reps and short rests between sets). I am very slowly making progress, but as they say, the closer you get to your fitness goal, the harder it becomes. I would like to think that in 16 weeks, I would have a visible 6-pack, with decent tone and definition all round. However, I’ve become a little impatient with the slow results, so I would appreciate some help.
i want to lose a lot of fat from my stomach and finally get a six pack. also want to add muscle to my arms, chest and back. i have a shocking diet and dont eat ANY vegetables, i want 2 change that. i’m incredibly lazy, i used 2 b very fit, but i lost that, i’ll get it back. good luck to the rest of you. :)
My goal is by the end of 16 weeks loose 12 kg and get some muscle definition by going to the gym 3-4 times per week.
I’m 29. I’ve been following a new training programme for 8 weeks and have lost 8lbs. In 16 weeks I want to lose another 14lbs and get back to how I used to be
I would like to lose 70 pounds and I know it will take longer than 16 weeks to achieve. I did put on weight after quitting smoking and I never took measures to respond to my re-acquaintance with taste and just kept on cooking. I also have joint issues due to the type of profession I have had for 25 years and I have had a knee injury that I use to mentally inhibit my exercise time.
Hi,
Mostly 2 goals:
First goal is to gain 5kg while decreasing my body fat % to such a level I can see my abs (I reckon my current % has to be about 14-12%).
Second is to improve my strength and power, to get better at martial arts.
I want to lower my fat percentage to 10 % and want to gain some quality muscle in the process so I look muscular and ripped. I would love to achieve my goals in 16 weeks
Great idea, Joel! I will lose 2lb per week over the 16 weeks and get below 20% bodyfat. That will either be my goal weight or close to it. I’ve been taking classes for years which involves way too much time on my butt. Even now, I’ve got finals next week and a presentation due tomorrow. It’s difficult to fit everything in when I’ve got extremely poor time management skills. I have a number of programs to choose from including Xtreme Fat Loss and the 1000 Calorie Challenge. I barely have the time to look at them. That will change.
I am a female in my mid 70’s hoping to live a long, productive life. To that end, I want to drop the excess belly and midrift fat, which probably means a good 20 pounds. I think 10 lbs. is a realistic 16 week goal since I am unable to follow a full-steam-ahead exercise program and have been unable to sustain any substantial weight loss the past few years. I want to regain the muscle strength that diminished during recovery from rotator cuff tears and two fractured vertebrae. My weight assistance is limited to 3 lbs., otherwise I am cleared for normal exercise programs. I walk, but am definitely NOT, and never have been, a runner. Motivation is also a concern. Thanks!
My goal is to lose 20 pounds over 16 weeks and build muscle mass. I am good at sticking to the diet but fall short on exercising regularly.
My goal is to loose 17kg and gain lean muscle. I need to do this for my health and to have more energy
My goal is to lose 50 ibs of fat and regain my energy levels.
Having already lost 33 pounds, I am looking to lose at least 25 more in the next 16 weeks. My challenge is, I am losing fat, but want to tone up, as well. I have hardly any cartlilige in my knees, and this makes lower body toning very difficult and I cannot twist my knees either. So that is my goal, trying to get over that hurdle!
Living between Australia and Vanuatu, I need to find a routine that I can do where ever I am. I want to lose 5-7kgs and tone up my body. Being 46 years old I recognise that I have to take control of my metabolism to get into shape.
My ultimate goal is to lose 20lbs and cut the fat around my stomach and hips.
My goal within 16 weeks is to lose the “love handles” and complete a marathon! Here we go – bring on the accountability… And hard work!
Hi Joel
I have just turned 40 and have one child. I am 5ft2 and weigh around 65kg. My goal is to tone more, loose 5-8 kg and keep it off. Now that I am 40 I would like to stay as healthy as I possibly can. I ride horses and being trim helps heaps with my riding fitness. Thanks Joel
