I’m now at my thirties but I don’t feel proud of it at all. I’ve been gaining weight steadily and wanted to loose the fats badly. I’m at 163cm tall and 76kg heavy, therefore I want to get rid of 20kgs of fats and get back into shape with proper meal plan and realistic workout schedule.
Motivations, hard work and determinations will bring me there.

Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.
Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?
What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?
I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.
Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them. Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”
Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.
(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)

At present, I’ve obtained the strength I “need” to handle my motorcycle. This isn’t to say I’m as strong as I want to be, but I am at least where I need to be. That being said, I still have fat to loose. My keg has shrunk to a case, but its a far cry from a six pack, so I have to say, my initial goal is to loose the fat, then go back to work on building strength.
I am on my 3rd week of your Cheat Your Way Thin program. I lost 10 lbs the first 2 weeks, but realistically I don’t expect the losses to continue at that pace. My 16 week goal is to be 40 lbs thinner, with most of that loss being fat not muscle. A second goal is to increase the jogging portions of my exercise until I can jog the 732 Metres around the lagoon 3 times without losing my breath and needing to walk. Working eventually up to 5k, and one day enter and complete a 5k run event. I’m 51 yrs old – This last goal may be out of my reach, as I have MS, and my legs don’t always cooperate. That doesn’t stop me from trying though.
I know the Cheat Your Way Thin program recommends alternating walking and jogging in 2 minute intervals each, mixing up the intensity. But if I could jog the entire time, wouldn’t that burn more fat? Or is there something about the alternating intensity of the workout that is more effective at fat burning?
My goal is to tone up my entire body. I am almost at my goal weight; within 10 pounds; and my 16 week goal is to really tone up while losing the last 10. I will be doing this with a combination of Chalean Extreme, Turbo Fire and Zumba.
Following your advise and training tips – lost 9kg. Aim to loose 5kg more. At 56 it become more difficult. Think what you put in your mouth. Translate the calories to the time you have to spend on the tread mill to burn it off – and actually do it. No easy way – eat right, spend the time in the gym and you WILL be sucsessful.
Joel- I’m a 63 y.o. widow on a fixed income w/no access to work-out equip. and unable to purchase same; my goal is to lose 30# in the next 16 wks – I’ve already lost 5# since Thanksgiving. I con’t. to bike and walk 2 mi. (each) every day, but now am enduring a swollen left knee which is very painful, and have been told by my Dr. that it’s arthritis. I’m managing well on the Kim Lyons diet plan; just want to get rid of the abdominal fat, and am past worrying about “abs”; I need to take off the #’s for health reasons, and to ease the pressure on the hips and knees. I’ll keep working on it, as health allows.
Hi! I recently dropped 30# SO easily and effortlessly! And I’m not done yet!
I simply stopped combining fats and carbs in the same meal. AND I added the “lose belly fat’ veggies and avocado, which they say is fruit, but c’mon! The meat I eat is almost EXCLUSIVELY grass-fed organic cattle and free range poultry; an AMAZING difference from conventionally raised beef.
It’s been easy. I’m really active, well, for (and I hate this phrase) a woman my age. (Eeeuuuu, I sound as old as my MOTHER!)
As a single woman, I LOVE it that the men are taking PROFOUND notice again… YEA! I’m doing a gentle toning and core routine, and a few free weights.. but mostly, I’m doing the mental work of “my body is strong and healthy, shapely, curvy, and womanly– and I LKE it!” Being happy with our bodies is CRITICAL– it gives ME the ‘oomph’ to take REALLY good care of mine.
I’ve gone from a 16W to a 12… I’m lookin’ GOOD! and FEELIN’ even better!
BTW, next week, I turn 64.
“..will ya still need me, will ya still feed me, when I’m 64?” Happy birthday to ME!
And a happy one it is! One more year till Medi-Care YEA!
Goal: Drop another 20-30# before next birthday, so that’s ~7-10# in 16 weeks– eeeeeeeasy! (I’d say “piece of cake” but I don’t eat cake.)
I would like to lose 25 kgs and increase muscle. I live in Korea so I have to do it mostly using body weight exercises. Gyms are hard, few people here speak ENglish. I workout at home. I have already lost 8 kgs.
I am 5’8″, 128 lb, 31″ waist with 14.5% bf. I want to be at least 135lb with 10% bf and 29″ waist in the next 16 weeks! The main goal is to bulk up without gaining fat!
In 16 wks I’ll be almost 41, and I currently weigh 221 lbs. I have 9 children and I’m still nursing my youngest (8 mths old). I ultimately want to lose 50 lbs, but I know that won’t happen in 16 wks unless I starve myself. So my goal is to lose 15 lbs and improve my fitness level. I want to be able to do good pushups on my toes. And I want to fit into size 16 jeans.
Gosh, this is harder than it looks – to put this in writing, and to set numbers to my goals. Thanks, Joel, for challenging me to take this step – the first step toward actually accomplishing them!
Blessings!
I have lost nearly 60 pounds since April. I followed your Xtreme Fat Loss Program. I highly recommend it. I am now at 185 pounds. Waterskiing was a big motivation for me. I found a local ski club. I wanted to ski in a tournament again at a competitive level. I am know skiing better than I was 25 years ago. I don’t want to gain any weight, but I do want to add some muscle. My 16 week goal is to be in the best shape of my life at 45, and enjoy the 2011 waterski season.
i am 26 years old and i weigh 70.5kg…i use to be arnd 50-55kg range…and i want to achieve that in 16 weeks…possible?
Well I can tell you my goals for the next 3 weeks to finish the year strong.
1. I will complete 18 workouts in the next 21 days.
2. I will Test and Beat my last test on Squat, Bench and Deadlift.
3. I will cheat on 3 days before 2011.
4. I will lose 2% of bodyfat before the end of the year.
5. I will hit my college weight of 220lbs but in BEAST BODY Mode
Take care Joel I hope you and your wife have another awesome year.
I need to lose at least 10kg. So I am going to focus the next 16 weeks on doing that
Hey Joel,
It is funny this post came around as it did, as I am about 2 weeks away from a 12 week goal of losing 10Kg and am currently sitting at 9Kgs lost, (There was a holiday in there and a few milestone birthdays that I couldn’t avoid, but I didn’t gain any weight during those which was a bonus!
I am looking at another 12 week goal of 10Kgs, but when I read your article i decided it might be a good idea to increase it to 16 weeks. I am still a long way from being what I want to be, but I can see the light, and I am liking it!
Thanks for this!
Nic
@ Gordon Sidwell:
You can DO this! Look at it as GAINING health and power, and not ‘losing’ anythiing- we don’t like to lose.. we just don’t. Little changes over a long time add up to BIG SUCCESSES! Perhaps if you remember you can eat anything ‘healthy’ but think aobut keeping the sweeter foods and starchy stuff out of a meal with oily or greasy stuff. (It’s a biochemistry thing– and it WORKS!)
Hi ,
I am 27 yrs old and my height is 164 cm, weight 65 kg.. in the span of 1yr i have increased my weight from 50kg to 65kg and tummy has buldged out… my goal to reduce and shape body and esp my tummy and weigh back atleast to 55 or 57 kgs..
I would like to lose 14-16kg in 16 weeks, eventually losing 20kg within 6 months!
Well..I came from 250 down to 212 with a separate program..i needed to lose that excess fat to really get into some serious training..now that i am so much lighter..i can get there without a problem..need to get down to 195
I am looking to maintain weight (if not gain some due to muscle gain) and gain a significant amount of definition. A part of my personal goals (though not physical) is to start a workout area in my house.
My goal is to lose 30-40 lbs and tone up all over. I am eating healthier (could still be better) and working out 3-4 days a week, and now that snowboarding has started I am snowboarding 1-2 times a week. I want to be in top shape for the spring when ball season starts again – and looking good in a bikini wouldn’t hurt either!
My goal is to lose 40 lbs of fat and find my waist again over the next 16 weeks. I have a three week dive trip panned in March and would love to look and feel great in a swim suit while relaxing on the boat beteen dives. I am working out to the 1000 calorie work outs. Just moving to the week four video after a couple of weeks. Getting tougher for this 56 year old but I”m doing it. Keep the tips coming.
I am a 44 year old woman with 6 kids and 3 grandkids. I am currently 191 lbs and 30.2% body fat. I will be under 170 lbs and at 22% body fat within the next 16 weeks. I’d like to define and build muscle too. I want to have abs that a teenager would be jealous of :)
I’m 170 cm tall and want to lose 10kg, particularly my belly fat
