What Are YOUR Goals?

Posted by Joel Marion

At random, Dan and I are going to GIVE AWAY 16-weeks of personal TWO-on-1 coaching to someone who leaves a comment below on this blog post.  All you need to do is read below and reply with your 16-week goal to be eligible.

This is WAY over $2000 value and you’re going to get your own personal nutrition coach AND your own trainer and life coach…100% FREE if you win.

Read below and respond in the comment section.

Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.

Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?

What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?

I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.

Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them.  Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”

Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.

(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)

Talk to you in the comments section!

Joel

P.S. Get your 16-week goal in writing! Believe me, responding below is going to be HUGE for your accountability (and ultimately, your success).

Well, 10 kg may be too much for 16 weeks, but hey, why not?

Hey there Joel

I’m currently at 5-10 lbs over my goal weight and I’m pretty happy with my BF % and sizes (i.e.chest, waist, etc.). I’ve just finished training for and running a half-marathon, and am shifting my training to more traditional gym-type workouts. A week or so of HIIT and MRT work-outs, and the subsequent achiness has shown me how much I have neglected this aspect of my fitness. My goal in the next 16 weeks is to really push these workouts such that I don’t run out of gas half-way through, that I don’t feel so achy for 3 or 4 days afterwards, and perhaps get below my goal weight so that I have about a 5lb buffer.

Thanks

Brendan

Walter, you need to care about body fat if you want to see your six pack. It’s in there, hidden under some fat.@walter

My first goal is to lose 12 pounds, tone up my midsection and set a pr in the half marathon. The second goal is to encourage my wife to start and stick to a fitness program.

My goal is to lose 32 lbs of fat over the next 16 weeks by strength training to build muscle tissue, alternating with high intensity interval training to melt fat.

I’m a 5′ 2” female looking to lose fat and tone up for the summer. I haven’t weighed myself for a long while ’cause the scale scares me =( But I think I’m around 115 pounds. I want to lose at least 5-8 pounds.

My goal is to lessen my body fat percentage by at least 5%. I want/aim to lose 20 lbs by October 31, 2009. I’m doing Turbulence Training but need lots of adjustments in my nutrition.

Hi, I am 17, my height is 5’7, I am 165 lbs and around 11% body fat. I am looking to lose fat and gain some muscle too because next year I am going to be trying out for the varsity wrestling team at my school. But for the time being, I am looking for the proper workout regimen/diet that will permit this.

I would like to take off 20 pounds and firm up my muscles. At 55 and with some arthritis and bad knees, I can’t do a lot of the exercises I would like to be able to do. I am trying to find ones that work without making me hurt worse.

My goal is to weigh 178 lbs in 16 weeks. My present weight is 196 lbs with 21.6% body fat and 34% muscle.

I’m competing 03/10/09 (15half wks) at the Australian bodybuilding titles in Melbourne, as a Masters (over 40) Figure competitor…if I decide to do the Olympia on the Gold Coast that will be 2weeks later…
I last competed 18April & 4May this year at around 44kgs…I’m a comfortable 50kg now, eating anything I want :))
So need to lose at least 5-6kg body fat without sacrificing muscle, another kilo will come off with dehydration.
I’ve been hitting my legs lately, trying to get more symetry, but there is only so much muscle I can build between now and then. I plan to diet 8wks out as I know I NEED to do 6wks but it always takes me 2wks to get into the swing of it.
That’s MY plan:)

Hey Joel! I am a 36 year old mother of 5 awesome kids! I had my last 2 years ago and I’m still battleing an extra 40 pounds of nasty! I used to be in shape, I want to be again. Need energy, and need to like the body I’m in! None of which is happening! I am 5′ 7″ and I weigh 180 lbs. My 16 week goal is to get as close to 140 as possible w/o pills and all that crazy stuff I’ve tried! I was a competeive gymnast for 12 years, (a while ago), but I know what it feels like to be in shape and have muscles! It’s not just about looking good. . .but feeling it. Being fat and out of shape really hurts! Looking forward to getting there! Thanks for the inspiration and motivation! -Tanya

Joel, I am one of the lean people with skinny fat. I would like to keep the weight-about 195-200-but lose the belly and love handles. The catch is I have had 3 epidural injections in my upper back this year for a pinched nerve affecting my right shoulder, arm, and hand. The third shot is still holding strong, and I am in physical therapy now. I gained weight and the belly while out with the shoulder problem earlier in the year, and am desperate to get back to working out. I am very leary about just what to do for workouts because I do not want to aggrevate the injury and end up hurt and flat on my back again. The PT tells me I can start doing “light” exercise, as long as there is not running involved. I want to lose the fat, and gain muscle/definition. Any help and ideas would be most appreciated.

Hi. I changed my body in past 4 month. My weight went down from 87 kg to 82 kg. My skin fold went also dramaticaly down:
chest before 10 mm, today 4 mm
abdomen before 32 mm, today 8 mm
thigh before 23 mm, today 5 mm
I don’t know how to calculate body fat, but I want to lose additional fat until summer. My goal: 6-pack, today only 4-pack ;)

I have 3 goals for the next 16 weeks –
1. Workout 4-5 times per week
2. Decrease eating processed food by 50%
3. Lose 18 lbs

Those should keep me busy and out of trouble

Hi,

I’m 53 years old. I’m 5’8″, 196 lbs. Yes, 196 lbs. And it’s not muscle, that’s for sure…

My 16 week goal is to lose 30 lbs. Get my body fat under 20%. And to gain lean muscle. I’m tired of being out of shape.

I’m 22 years old, 186cm, 67kg and currently studying karate. I recently competed in the open division at the state championships and came 4th. The guy I lost to (4-3) was a former national champ – I’m determined to work harder over the next year to win the title! My goals are to improve my power by losing body fat and increasing muscle mass.

I’m 47 years old and have battled with asthma and slow weight gain for over 20 years. I’m 5’9″, with a large frame, and weigh over 220lbs. Gaining muscle mass has never been an issue for me – it’s the body fat that plagues me, especially lately around the midriff. Currently doing a series of acupuncture treatments to help with the breathing issues and shift my metabolism – this has been my biggest challenge, whenever i start to lose a significant amount of weight, the asthma seems to kick up a notch and I can’t work out with any intensity at all. In 16 weeks, I’d like to achieve some consistency in my kettlebell workouts, and I’d like to lose 40 lbs of body weight. Ultimately I’d like to get back down to about 160 lbs (my weight at 23 when I was regularly weight training and playing competitive volleyball), but if I can manage 40lbs in 16 weeks without getting sick, I will be ecstatic.
