Just this morning me and my good friend Josh were discussing the different types of nutrition strategies we’ve been using along with our current goals, which got me a bit curious about what it is that YOU’RE currently doing.
Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?
What are your specific goals for the next 16 weeks? How many pounds do you want to lose (or gain) in that time?
I like 16-week goals because it’s the perfect time frame to really make DRASTIC changes to your body and the way you look—aim high, and let me know your 16 week goal in the comments section below.
Then, print off this post (along with your response), and I want you to use it as a source of accountability. Here at Body Transformation Insider, we’re not just about setting goals, we’re ALL about achieving them. Or as my buddy Dan Long says, “We don’t hit goals, we SHATTER goals!”
Many of you are going to achieve some awesome things in the next 16 weeks—start today by posting your goal below.
(and if you can’t even *post* your goal, you might as well forget about achieving it…now is the time to step up and make it happen—together, as a community)
Talk to you in the comments section!
Joel
P.S. Get your 16-week goal in writing! Believe me, responding below is going to be HUGE for your accountability (and ultimately, your success).

Hey guys, my 16 week goal would be: to get down to about 4-5 % body fat, get some dense defined vascular muscle and have an overall balanced and healthy body/lifestyle. now the reason i set my goals high, is that i already have visible abs, vascular wrists and shoulder and partially on my upper thigh after a workout, and i am making progress… but i would like to hit 8 pack abs with veins, big arms with veins, and more of a v taper… which im sure on my own after a period of time i could achieve but i wonder could you offer me a faster solution
I’m male, 1.80 m and 85 kgs. I want to lose about 7 kgs of fat and tone up my body, especially arms. Also to get to 7% body fat
Goal: BF from 14% to 8-10%
I’ve lost over 50 pounds in the last 14 months (when my BF was close to 26%) and since I reached 14% BF I’m stucked. I wouldn’t mind some more muscle mass, but a hard six pack is the first goal.
My 16 week aim is to lose between 1 and 2 stones minimum in weight and to regain the toned body I had til 8 years ago. I’ll soon be 64 and a snapped achilles followed by 2 hip resurfaces allowed me to let my body slide. The usual aerobic exercise is far too painful for my arthritic back, but weights I can do. I’m really excited.
I am going to be a junior in high school next year and during the next 16th weeks, my goal is to cut down and get back down to 9 or below body fat %. To do so, I will be going through rigorous training. Swimming daily (HIIT or LISS) in the morning, tues, thurs, and sat i have track strength conditioning, and with that I will be doing the insanity program. Since there is so much training, part of my goal is to keep through it no matter how hard things get and to also keep to my diet.
I would like to reduce 15 to 20 pounds. Also to eat helthy and live ahelathy life..

Hi
I am 56 years old,160cm in height and wiehg around 60kg.I would love to lose 10 kg.This would make me feel a lot healthier and also make me look better as well. I would also like to tone up. HELP
I turn 43 next month. I realise that I have now been overweight for 12 years. I have been ‘trying’ to lose weight since the birth of my first child. A few extra kilos has, over the years, now become quite a lot of weight to lose. My self esteem is at an all time low. I will lose 20 kilos and build lean muscle. I will look and feel fabulous. It will take me longer than 16 weeks, but I will do it by Christmas. I will aim to lose between 1/2 to 1 kilo a week . This is a realistic and attainable goal for me. Any help and suggestions aimed at ordinary (non body builders) people like me will be welcomed! I will get my Class 1 Aviation Medical with NO restrictions and begin the serious study to get my Commercial Pilot’s Licence. Being fit and strong (and slim!) will make my confidence soar and my dreams reality.
Hi Joel.. I am 52 yr old, 5’10” and 200 lbs 41″waist, 28% b/fat..Hmm, in the next 16 weeks I aim to get to 180 lbs, 35″ waist 18% b/fat…and adding some musscle in the process…tough job ahead, but one I can acheive.
I will cut 5 pounds of fat and get my weight from 190 to at least 200 for football season
My goal for the next 16 weeks is to lose 20 pounds of fat and to continue to build muscle. I’ve just lost 80 pounds in the past 14 and a half months, so 20 more in that time might be tricky, but I’m going for it!
I don’t care abouy losing any more weight (down 22 pounds in last 8 weeks) but would my body fat to be about 12%.
Hey coach Joel, thank you very much for all the help & tips you provide. My motivation to post is not the one you mentioned, though I know you are right about it. I’m just fed up with other gurus that send emails claiming to share “secrets” and end up BSing in a minutes long video with ZERO information. And when you contrast it to the info you share for free, you are really a great person & in fact, I know you will be a greatly successful business owner.
My goal is to see my abdominal muscles, all the ones I can see under the fat I’m currently holding. For that goal I’m doing the following:
* Ameliorating my sleeping time & patters (8 scheduled hours)
* Drinking more water (not less than 2Liters, not more than 4Liters)
* Gradually eliminating salt & sugar
* Doing 90min of interval training in the outdoors (run, squad, push-up, lung, sprint, crunches, … whatever my imagination permits)
* Going into a weekly cycle of eating:
> cheat day with extra-food
> fast day with black coffee, tea, diet-soda (I’m trying not to…)
> fast day with carrot, broccoli, cabbage ONLY (with drinks above)
> minimal-calories day
> mainly-protein-food day
> regular balanced clean calories
> regular balanced clean calories with extra protein & fruit
* I’m also looking for a girlfriend that has a similar lifestyle, one for support & understanding, two for burning even more calories having sex!
I want to go down from 212 pounds to 175 pounds in next 4 months.
16 week goal? Pretty basic, drop to 185lbs, lose the fat, keep the muscle… at 185, re-evaluate and decide if I should pack on some more muscle or if I still need to lose some fat.
I’d like to lose 10 to 15 pounds, but more importantly, I’d like to feel strong, confident, and energetic again. I’m short on time and willpower, and can’t use supplements, so am failing miserably at the xtreme fat loss diet. With two little boys and a busy job, the pounds have crept on; I’d like to make them creep back OFF in 16 weeks.
I’m an older lady who put on toooo many pounds struggling through a first marriage and added a few happy pounds with a great 2nd marriage. Sadly, since signing up I’ve been sick/distracted/otherwise working in the yard 2-6 hours a day, several days a week. I’m eating the same as my diabetic husband and the pounds remain on me! At your challenge, I’m setting a 16 wk goal of 20 lbs. I’ll have to go through the initial information and the e-mails I saved for your helps. I’ve got to get back to a healthy weight. My joints demand it! The mirror isn’t too happy either!
my ultimate goal is to lose 75-100 lbs but i would like to start by losing 30-40 lbsin the 16 weeks. Have more energy and change my life
I want to get myself on a healthy way of eating for life.
I want to lose 15 lbs from my middle
I want to learn to exercise again after being unable, due to injuries, for an extended time.
My goal in the next 16 weeks is to lose 20 pounds of pure fat and gain as much lean muscle as I can. I have been walking on a treadmill for exercise and have now bought a home gym so have now started to do resistance training Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with the treadmill only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am hoping that this will help my weight loss efforts. I have a long ways to go (ultimately, would love to lose 80 to 90 pounds, so….) We’ll see how far I get in the next 16 weeks and go from there. Who knows? Maybe I’ll go OVER the 20 pounds of fat loss!!!!
