Are you looking to gain muscle, lose fat, both?

I regularly workout and have struggled with gettin the results that I want. Hey Joel. I’m struggling really bad on the weight loss tip. I’ve lost all desire to work out and need some pushing, well more like shoving to get going. I need to lose about 30 lbs, and would definitely like to be there or at least half way there in 16 weeks. Can you help me??????
My goal is to feel happy again with my body. To be excited about shopping instead of dreading it. To buy something other than shoes or watches. To be able to wear my wedding ring again.

I’m a 23 year old recent college graduate. My freshman year in college I was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism during which time I went from a slim, active young adult to an atrophied, 50 pounds heavier, depressed patient. I now have hypothyroidism and take synthroid every day. It’s been nearly five years and I’ve managed to lose 30 pounds of what happened to me that year, but I know that the more in shape I get the more confident I will be at reclaiming my life and moving forward from my experience as a strong individual with just as much potential as when I entered school. My goal is to be more in shape than when I left for college five years ago, to lose the last pounds weighing me down and build back even more of my muscle so I can be the active, vibrant person I know is trapped inside.
Hey Joel,
I’m already in good shape, but would love to put on some size. In a 16 week span I would like to put on at least 15 pounds of pure muscle and have a body like Chris Hemsworth from Thor. Right now I’m 5’11 and around 175. At the beginning of 2011 I was 205, I’ve managed to lose 30 pounds through strength and circuit training. Whatever you got to throw at me, I would love to take it and run with it.
I have been struggling to stay on the 24/7 Fat Loss program. I have problems menu planning so I purchased the predone menus, and got bored. So, my goal over the next 16 weeks is to get back on track with a program and lose 60+ lbs. I am currently bobbing between 279/285 but lost 22 inches at the beginning of the year on 24/7. This goal would be much easier if I had help with pre-planning my meals and an exercise program I could do and stick to.
My 16-week goal is to shed 50 lbs of fat. I’ll take whatever muscle I can get ;)
I intend to be in better shape at 56 than I was at 26 (I was active then, but I but I was “average fat”). My time is NOW.
I am looking to lose 10 pounds per month. I have added some exercise which is not really my forte. I am trying to get healthy again and get off of my
Diabetes drugs and not have to get a knee replacement
and the only way i can do this is to lose weight. I have not been
successful in tbe past and the only way i can do this is to have
a lot of support.
I am very frustrated. I have worked very hard to lose 20 pounds. I am 70 years old and have numb feet. (I’m a really young 70) I went to a neurologist because of my feet and the medicine he started me on has caused me to gain back 10 pounds. I feel desperate. I ride my bicycle (tricycle) several times a week for about an hour.
My goal is simple to conquer 30 feet the distance between my backdoor and my garage where my gym is its amazing how many reasons you can think of not to go out there. But after 8 years of avoiding it its time to take my life and lose the 70 pounds I gained one day and 30 feet at a time.
Good Morning Joel,
I have never gained weight in my life, till now!? I haven’t been able to be active, I need a hip and knee replacement and had alot of Steroids. Very quickly I gained more than 30 lbs!!!!!!! I lost my job of course, and feel horrible, the extra weight is hurting my hip, and I cannot wear any of my clothes. I need and have to lose 30lbs, so I can get pain relief for my hip, and be able to wear some of my clothes, without a job I can’t afford new ones. I need to get my life back!!
My 16 week goal is to get a fit and strong body. I am 26 yr old girl who had been working out for last three years but still flabby and have 15 pounds of pure fat to lose. I want to gain muscle which will add definition and curve to my figure and make me look awesome. To be honest, in 16 weeks I want to get transformed to a fitness model figure.
I am very passionate about my transformation and looking forward to great guidance from you Joel and Dan. I would be really blessed to work with you on my fitness goals.

Hi Joel,
In 16 weeks I want to drop 15-20 lbs of fat while increasing lean muscle mass. I regularly weight train and do cardio but want to see more improvement. I’m not looking for the “magic bullet”. What I need is the correct strategy to get me to my goal. :-)
I m getting ready for Bikini competition who is a new in personal training business and needs help improving herself and her clients.
Hi Joel! Wow, this is a great giveaway which I’d love to win.
I am a 50 year old working mother of two sons, ages 15 and 12.
My 16 week goals are to overcome the various little health problems that have plagued me for years and to become more lean and muscular. After a lifetime of various annoying health issues I recently discovered I am both gluten and lactose intolerant. I have cut out those foods and eat almost paleo style, but would love some clear nutritional guidelines that respect my particular nutritional needs while feeding my muscles.
I love lifting weights, and while I do make progress I have never been able to break through to the real strength gains that I desire, so working with someone of your experience should really help me focus on doing the right things.
I really do not need to lose or gain any weight, I just want to add lean muscle. I am a hard and dedicated worker who just needs some guidance in setting up the right lifting/nutrition program!
Thanks! :-)
My goal is emotional/ mental. When I get angry/ sad/ lonely/ scared, etc- I eat. I take out my frustrations and fear on food, to escape the uncomfortable feelings. In the next 16 weeks, I want to eat properly and workout even when I don’t want to. Or even when I am feeling discomfort, to ignore the feelings and do what is right.
My goals are a bit different than most.
At age 5 I was diagnosed with Chron’s disease. Fifty years later, I am now also struggling with osteoporosis and diabetes, both a direct result of the medicine prednisone, which I take to control the Chron’s.
My gaol is to develop a strength training program to help reverse my bone loss. An overall exercise program to help control my blood sugar and reduce the need for insulin. And finally, a sensible, healthy eating program to help with management of Chron’s.
Also, now that I’m in my fifties, I find myself experiencing various aches and pains. Personally, I don’t believe that has to be my new normal.
I look forward to becoming a new, healthier me.
My goal is to lose 7% in bodyfat, gain muscle and feel healthy and strong. I also want to learn as much as possible so to be able to continue to grow as a trainer and personal life coach. Fitness is a lifelong journey and together we can make that journey a successful one, I believe in working as a team. The more cumulative knowledge the better. I would love to learn from the best so that I can achieve my best!
Thank you!!
