I like your post. As someone who is totally blind, I've had a lot of people try to stop me from following my dreams of working out and they try to stop me from my dream to be a psycho therapist. I am working toward completing my Psychology digree and have started a high intensity work out. Thanks, keep up the good work

I live in New Orleans and could not agree with you more Joel. The degree of struggle we have been through since Katrina has been overwhelming, but I have to say that the tension during Sunday's game was also stressful!
Sometimes determination isn't enough and you have to change up your original plans in order to overcome obstacles. Forging ahead has meant dodging left and right and turning around and going a different direction. With the end goal in mind, and being able to be resilient to see all your options, you will get there. It's been a long road for us, and we were left for done, but not any longer!
For those of us in New Orleans I say thank you for this post!

Wowie. My goal was twenty pounds and I have lost a whopping 13 lbs since I started your program (combined with stop eat). My goal now is another 15lbs.
I like to keep things in perspective to keep me inspired. If my goal had been 25lbs I would have been discouraged. But now I am encouraged. RESILIENCE!
By the way to the other blogger, I am 54 and I will be going to college this spring to become a Graphic Designer! No retirement here. I intend to be taken out of my art studio feet first!
Thanks!

Bravo David!!! I live 16 years in America and never got to understand : at least I tried or at least I participated. My question is always - and did you achieve the goal? Did you get the result? The result is what counts, not trying or participating.

Joel,
I must say, "WHO DAT!!!"

The Saints have been an inspiation this year, that's for certain, and for those of us who are longtime fans, it's almost been to good to believe. They have not only been the epitome of resiliency, but also of work ethic and drive. Two other things one must tap to "keep at it." They are living proof that hard work gets results. Excellent article today, sir!

You could say the same about both Superbowl teams. The Colts had 8 (count 'em!) fourth quarter comebacks this year. They'd weather the storm early, figure out what opponents were doing by halftime and then come out of the locker room and CRUSH THEM. Resiliency. If you want football as an allegory, the two Superbowl teams this year couldn't be better examples.
